great eating and drinking pub. the owners and staff are either all family or best friends. a place where everyone knows your name. celiac friendly. lamb burger with blue cheese. best nachos in town n

it's a cool place, with cool vibe. but i'd hardly call it 'authentic'. the food is good--for a bar-- but not exactly brit. more like decent canadian bar food. wings and burgers. i'm not sure why it's so hard to do, but this city needs a genuinely authentic brit pub experience. i'm talking steak and kidney pie, fry up friday, black pudding, eggs and chips, sunday roasts. oh and curry. some of the best curries in england are in the pubs.

sadly kensington pub changed their chef. we are from cornwall, uk so naturally we wanted to try their pasty. it was revolting and nothing like the traditional cornish pasty. extremely disappointed. i have been going to kensington pub for years and every time i go, i ask what they have for vegans. all i can ever order there is chips and salad. it is mindless. even the vegetable samosas have cheese in them! i spoke to the part-owner and he practically dismissed me and said "send me an email", which i have done a few times over the years. can't remember the other dish we ordered but again, seriously disappointed. i will no longer be patronizing this pub. waste of time and money.

i really like the atmosphere of this place.  it is a great place to meet friends after work, or on the weekend.  i used to go here regularly many years ago, and upon moving back into the area, i have rediscover it.  it does not seem to have changed since i left (a good thing in this case).

the food is good as well.  can't say that i always eat when i am here, but whenever i have eaten, it has been good.

this is a traditional english pub with all kinds of cool nooks and crannies! very cozy pub to grab a pint at 🍺 and although it's a bit grungy, i hope this place never changes!

great neighborhood english pub with a quirky layout that reflects being in an historical building. this is a regular stop for me when i'm in calgary on business and staying in the kensington neighborhood.

great place.
they have a good garden salad, displayed nicely, and very good staff.
there is a bartender who works there that is out of this world.
you can come in for just a pint of beer and feel completely welcomed

very cool old neighborhood pub. the food and service have always been good.the atmosphere is that of an old english style pub. because of it's excellent location we always find it a great place to stop and take a break  i recommend the root top patio . fries are really good.

great atmosphere! the had a descent assortment of draft beer and the food was reasonably priced. my date got the shepard's pie and it was really good; normally i don't eat shepard's pie but it was so good i almost stole it from her.

me favourite pub. i love this place! i have always had extremely friendly and polite servers and the food has always been spot on. this is my go to place when i'm in the mood for a laid back meal! i've tried many things on the menu and none of them have disappointed.

a great kensington staple. this is one of the default places for us since the gf and i live in the area. the food is always delicious and tastes home cooked and the atmosphere is really laid back. your standard neighbourhood pub that never disappoints.

went here for appetizers while my family was visiting from ontario but we decided on a whole meal! the quesadilla was gigantic...almost an inch thick! ordered chips and gravy which was also generously portioned and delicious! they cooked the bacon on my sisters burger just right...which she is very picky about!
will return, loved my lunch! didn't feel the prices were too high and enjoyed the atmosphere. also the entire place was filled so that must mean something!!

not one of the cheaper pub options in kensington, but certainly among the most reliable. good atmosphere day or night, service is always good and staff are friendly, and the food is always well prepared and plentiful. always steady- so they don't offer any drink or food specials. family-run joint with unpretentious staff. i and up here a lot- it's like a magnet.
