great ambience and not so great food. it is a royalexperiencetaht you pay for! but then taste is not mind blowing. delayed service and cold food was served. but the place kept us engaged because you visit a star restaurant and sit in a old house !!! rather use the money to visit kerala and have authentic experience!!! 😐

so if your looking for something a little different with ambience . they have managed to create a comfy outdoor seating to enjoy bangalore pleasant weather . a really friendly team at service front . our captain anthony knowing we are residents of banglore put then effort to make it a differentexperiencewith his suggestive selling . the food is authentic costal food varies from goan to coorg . so there is a variety . their lunch menu is different from what on line . so make so ask for the a la carte .
can get a lil busy but if your seated out you'll enjoy self .

i had mixed feeling before going for this place. but i was happy to choose this place for my special occasion dinner. the ambience is good, you have open as well as closed dinning area. i went there on weekday so there was not much rush, but if you are going on weekends then a reservation is a must here.

the servers here will help you with the order and portions. we tried prawns ghee roast in the starters, which was the show stopper for us. only thing which worried me was the price for the given portion of prawns.

if you dont like/eat prawns, then you can go for attirachy ularthu which is a lamb dish. it was cooked very beautifully. the lamb pieces were melting in the mouth.

we also order, meen eliettad which was black pomfret steak. it was okay and few bones were present

in the main course, we ordered prawn biryani. this biryani was delicious and portion size was enough for two people. the sour raitha was complimenting it nicely.

in the dessert, we tried chiroti - flaky bread with almond milk. it was loved and ended our meal on a happy note.

our overall dinnerexperiencewas good here and you can visit this place if you are looking for some delicious kerala cuisine.

ambiance, food, service.. anything you can rate a restaurant on.. karavalli will score 5/5. let's start with the ambiance. a quaint little place amidst the hustle bustle of the city. the moment you enter it from residency road, you will feel like the city is left behind and you are in quaint little country home with ethnic decor and soothing music. the old world charm is everywhere. it will transport you to a time when guests were treated royally. everything about this place is so graceful. be it their brass utensils or the chiming grandfather clock.

next comes the food and it goes hand in hand with the service. our foodexperiencewas so special because we were guided to choose the right dish and the best combination from the menu by our server vinod. mr. vinod and mr. kiran and their hospitality was the key behind the good food experience. if you are there.. please trust them. they know their food and have 15 years ofexperienceserving guests. next comes chef ram. whose cooking is simply out of this world. we ordered malabar prawn for starter. succulent juicy prawns in a very hot and spicy gravy. simply mouth watering. for main course we ordered kundapur mutton curry with kerala paratha and ghee rice. the mutton curry... i have just no words to describe it. you have to eat it toexperienceit. the best kerala paratha i have ever tasted. crunchy, flaky, soft and tasty. ghee rice was subtle nad tasty and a perfect combo with the mutton curry. the elaneer payasam was a perfect end to the dinner.

i will definitely go back again and again and again...

at the outset, i would like to say that it is a wonderful place to try authentic south indian food. we tried alambur arapu, malabar potatoes, appam, parottas and payasam. everything was delectable with signature taj service.however, the only thing which made the entireexperiencesombre was the value for money. they have recently increased or rather doubled the prices. ( the menu on zomato is an old one). even the vegetarian dishes are priced now at around 1100 rs minimum, which is too much for bengaluru 5 star prices. it seems like the hotel wishes to recover their pandemic loss quickly by overcharging their customers, without enhancing value for money. i find this approach quite customer unfriendly and unbecoming of a hospitality brand like taj.

while the food is good and ambience is great, they fail to make up for the lacking standards in service. i'm not sure if it was a one off instance or this is how it always is, ourexperiencewas not at all what you would expect from a place like this. the staff was grudgingly courteous, and failed to meet even the most basic hospitality standards.

i want to bring to your notice that the onam sadya at the hotel this year was very disappointing. every year we love it and look forward to this lovely meal that they make -  but this year we were taken to a hall and served in some chaotic way by inexperienced folk, who used plastic bowls to serve some of the dishes. the parrupu dish was not cooked right nor the inchi pulli dish. there were, however, a few good items which were well-cooked like the payasam, but the ambience was not good enough to enjoy the afternoon. i hope next year theexperiencewill be good! please bring back our fabulous onam sadyas of yesteryear!

our diningexperienceat karavalli on 5th september was nothing short of exemplary. we’d chosen to come here so we could catch up in peace with their beautiful ambience surrounded by nature and it didn’t disappoint. the waterfall was perhaps my favourite part of theexperiencebut the main focus was the food. we had the non veg thails that were so filling and tasty. the portions were generous and well served. the staff were even kind enough to accommodate some special changes as i was allergic to seafood. a very special thank you to the staff, vinoth, kiran, uday, benjamin and ganesh for making this visit such an memorable and delectableexperiencewith their amazing insights and suggestions. they made sure the food was exactly what we needed and never hesitated to share a laugh or two and converse with us. as for the food itself, the mango curry was the star of the lunch. i would suggest everyone try that at least once. it was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. my second most favourite was the red chicken they served called kori kempu, it was simply divine and a fine addition to the thali. we had rice, ghee and sambhar later which was served exactly as it should be, hot and perfect. the dessert of payasam and ice cream was the perfect end to what was a hearty fulfilling lunch. once again, thank you to the staff for the experience. i mean, everything was so good that i didn’t even take any pictures of the good. i just had to dig in!
