today was a special afternoon and undoubtedly one of the best meal of the year.as a discerning fish eating bengali i was in a state of crustacean nirvana savouring every morsel of coastal fresh catch . the spices , authenticity of every single element was unfaltering and true to its place of provenance be it kundapur ghee roast or a xacuti or a porichatu. the aquafest at @tajbangalore karavalli is a sum of everything ace that you would expect in a fishy affair.not to be missed at all ..

ok bangaloreans, you have to come here. we had an awesome time. some great lip-smacking food, and some fantastic service by uday and nagesh. we had a blast!

service and food were on point! uday and vinoth are really good servers and they made the environment even better and i had a great time! would definitely recommend for south indian experience!

really lovely food and ambience! we were served complimentary rasam(really good!) and papad. we ordered the camaro con cilantro (prawns) and kori roti with chicken curry.
the best was the bebinca at the end 😍
boopathi, our waiter was absolutely courteous, and the food was brought almost instantly.
amazing experience. 😍

went here for weekend lunch. the ambience is cozy and staff are courteous. i ordered a seafood thali and mutton curry. well the thali was nothing exceptional. on a better price can get much more items in any other sea food thali place.
the staff told the thali was not be shared but then he got us extra parathas for the mutton curry which was really kind. the taste was like okay not so great for me. i barely touched the veg items of the thali.
it's a one time place, that's also if you want ambience.
a couple more additions to thali would probably make it worth it.

staff was very courteous especially vinoth sundae and nagesh . food was amazing. the place to visit incase one wants to try out cuisine from mangalore/ konkan/ kerala.

karavalli is an institution when it comes to coastal & sea food cuisine- a cut above the other restaurants in terms of taste, ingredients, ambience & the fantastic service which you expect of a taj property. we have been regular patrons of this superb restaurant for some years now.

i recently visited the restaurant with my family for lunch & we had ordered its catamaran lunch ( a set thali with unlimited helping of its superb veggies & delicious fish & chicken with 3 types of rice, appams, malabari parottas, etc.), chicken ghee roast which is undoubtedly one of the best you will find anywhere & neer dosas.

it was a wonderful meal with courteous & extremely attentive service by the staff- boopathi & nagesh were really helpful explaining the intricacies of the various dishes- & kudos to chef ganesh for the lovely fare.

highly recommended.

karavalli is nothing but luxury and quality. experienced excellent hospitality by the restaurant staff. we tried the kori kempu bezule and prawns curry with rice. all of them were tasty one after the other. sitting outside amongst the greenery was the best part.

we visited this restaurant a week ago. a taste of kerala cuisine .. authentic malabar food! we had a banana leaf seafood thali for a couple. it was super! yum!
thankyou,once again for the excellent hospitality your restaurant extended to us to enjoy the lavish seafood meal!
it is the right time of the year to enjoy the seafood fare of malabar cuisine! bon appetite!

had read a lot about the place and we found it well worth the praise it receives. their mango curry based veg dish was simply out of the world- can't remember having eaten anything like it. and the tamarind and jackfruit ice creams were simply genius. we were served by boopathi and benjamin with our chef being ram- kudos to this team. absolutely must visit!

i want to bring to your notice that the onam sadya at the hotel this year was very disappointing. every year we love it and look forward to this lovely meal that they make -  but this year we were taken to a hall and served in some chaotic way by inexperienced folk, who used plastic bowls to serve some of the dishes. the parrupu dish was not cooked right nor the inchi pulli dish. there were, however, a few good items which were well-cooked like the payasam, but the ambience was not good enough to enjoy the afternoon. i hope next year the experience will be good! please bring back our fabulous onam sadyas of yesteryear!

ambiance:   5 as you walk into the restaurant, you feel complete serenity while u are a min walk from hustle and bustle of residency road & it's unique and enchanting.  you let the old world charm warm you up & savor it. 

food;  5 awesome..  you can't go wrong with anything here. based on your taste buds choose what suits & you will have fun. ordered lobster, prawn curry & malbaar paratha & appam finished with some rice.

service: 4.8 that was probably the only thing i would have rated slightly less than 5. it was excellent but might not be at 5*

this is pricey affair but once in a while you need that sinful indulgence to enjoy life. 

give the chefs a chance and you will not be disappointed.
