kanto freestyle breakfast

love the dishes available, and have been here several times already. can get hot though because there's no air-conditioning unit available.

-chocnut champorado: 4/5 (only a small bit of chocnut as topping; just regular champorado)
-salmon and eggs benedict: 5/5 (really flavorful with adequate salmon and yummy eggs ben)
-pancakes: 3/5 (nice to look at; not that good)
-chicken and waffles: 5/5 (love how they cook their chicken! so delicious. also the waffles)
-tuyo and kesong puti breakfast: 5/5 (love it!!! have been craving tuyo for a long time and wasn't disappointed!)
-new zealand tapa breakfast: 3.5/5 (was gonna give it a 5/5 because it was perfectly seasoned but when i got to the last three pieces, they were so salty so the tapa wasn't seasoned evenly)

heard good things about other branches of kanto freestyle, so when i heard that one had opened here, i had to try it for myself.
the prices and value for money are good. we ordered the new zealand beef tapa, gourmet sausages, the croque monsieur and the scramble beverage.
the title on the menu for the gourmet sausages is quite misleading. usually when you see something that says, “sausages”, you expect more than one sausage. it should really be called, “gourmet sausage”, to be more on point. but, it was filling and tasted alright. the beef tapa was okay, expected it to taste better to be honest with it saying new zealand beef. the croque monsieur was a bit of a disappointment. i first tried a croque monsieur in a parisian cafe, where it originated, and also make my own when craving for one. so when i saw it on the kanto freestyle menu i had to see what it was like. the bread was barely toasted (should’ve been grilled with some butter), the ham and cheese should be loaded so much that the cheese starts to melt and ooze out from between the bread. there were only single slices of ham and cheese within this one. i actually got them to package it so i could take it home and try to improve it myself.
i will be back to try some other things on their menu. i hope next time it will be better.

there is no beating rodic's tapsilog in a one-on-one match, or maty's in a fight for the second. kanto, however brings new fighters in their breakfast game, from corned beef balls to the infamous croque madamme, back to classic vigan longganisa you name it!

verdict: the flavors are a bit underwhelming. i would have given it a 3.5 for the honey garlic chicken which was cooked beautifully. there is the certain problem of ventilation however that pulls it back to a 3. you get what you pay for, but considering the place they are situated in, perhaps a little rethinking might be due. they were still in their soft opening when i went, so i leave room for doubt in the little "kulang"s i encountered.

i would no doubt return to this place to check out the other items in their menu, and hopefully find more things to love about filipino breakfasts.

love the food and old house feels. i like that i can order ala carte since i don’t eat rice. their selection of longganisa is what makes me coming back. ang init lang talaga kasi wala aircon 😅

a very budget friendly restaurant especially for students! quality and instagrammable for only p150-250! very unique concept, and one of my favorites! 😍

ordered tapsilog and was quite disappointed. for a place that specializes on breakfast menu, they need to improve. the garlic fried rice is very bland, lacks garlic and almost close to be considered as plain rice. the serving for the tapa is very little-i got like 5 pcs on my plate. i also specified that the eggs should be well done (since they asked) and the eggs on my plate were still very runny.

maybe would come back to try their pancakes next time.

staff is friendly though. and cozy ambiance.

place: during gcq. place is good. however, compared to the last 2 branches that we've been to, the one in poblacion is our top pick. located infront of the providence tower. parking is also difficult.

we ate here for how many times now. good food. the price is okay, not too expensive. we’re craving for something like breakfast at 3am 😂 so we came here. i think it’s open for 24 hours. would always recommend this.

third time at kanto but first time in vito cruz taft branch. the place is usually full of students studying nearby. the service is slow. i ordered goya and chocnut pancake because the crew said it’s their best seller. i’m not a chocolate dish but i liked it. my companions ordered the dangit and new zealand beef tapa. it was good.

i ordered their new zealand tapa and it was really good. the meat was tender and not over cooked and they also put generous amount of the tapa. i like how they presented their meals, the whole tomato cut into two (good job in slicing out the top and bottom part). i think this place will add up to my go to resto before commuting back home. 😊😊

ordered bottled water for my daughter and followed up several times, and was finally told they ran out of stock after reminding waiter 5x. ordered extra milk for my champorado and followed up 5x too. waiter apparently forgot about it, champorado is now cold. :( not a good experience :(

this place is the worst!!!!!! walked inside, no one assisted us. it was so hard to call the waiter’s attention. and most of all, waited for an hour only to find out our order wasnt placed in the kitchen. 3rd time coming here and yet third time to get disappointed idk why i even gave it another chance. dont come here, the service is beyond horrible. +the place was v dirty!

unexpected!! kanto style adds a modern twist to your typical filipino meal. the atmosphere may not be charming but their food will make you come back!
