love the dishes available, and have been here several times already. can get hot though because there's no air-conditioning unit available.

-chocnut champorado: 4/5 (only a small bit of chocnut as topping; just regular champorado)
-salmon andeggsbenedict: 5/5 (really flavorful with adequate salmon and yummyeggsben)
-pancakes: 3/5 (nice to look at; not that good)
-chicken and waffles: 5/5 (love how they cook their chicken! so delicious. also the waffles)
-tuyo and kesong puti breakfast: 5/5 (love it!!! have been craving tuyo for a long time and wasn't disappointed!)
-new zealand tapa breakfast: 3.5/5 (was gonna give it a 5/5 because it was perfectly seasoned but when i got to the last three pieces, they were so salty so the tapa wasn't seasoned evenly)

ordered tapsilog and was quite disappointed. for a place that specializes on breakfast menu, they need to improve. the garlic fried rice is very bland, lacks garlic and almost close to be considered as plain rice. the serving for the tapa is very little-i got like 5 pcs on my plate. i also specified that theeggsshould be well done (since they asked) and theeggson my plate were still very runny.

maybe would come back to try their pancakes next time.

staff is friendly though. and cozy ambiance.

i'm a regular for a reason. their chicken meals are always so huge and delicious. relatively quickly served than expected, of course just not in peak hours. i always order either honey garlic chicken or chicken and waffle (which by the way is quite affordable for its huge serving and compared to cafe prices), then when in doubt i go for vigan longganisa which hasn't failed me. super good, highly recommend if not for few dishes that misses, like spanish sardines tempura oreggsbenedict. i'll just warn you about the benedict dishes, i have tried once and i got really disappointed because it was too sour and too expensive for a sandwich.

this is one of my go-to restaurants in taft. if you’re a big fan of breakfast food, then you won’t go wrong with this place.

the place is very much welcoming and the staff attends to the customers immediately. there are no air conditioning in the restaurant but the fans are enough to keep the area air-breezed.

you get what you pay for in terms of amount, but surprisingly tastier than i expected. the food usually takes around 10-15 minutes to be served but we hardly notice the time because the place is always relaxing enough to enjoy chatting.

for the bestsellers, my go-to dishes are the pampanga tocino, nz beef tapa, vigan longganisa, and honey garlic chicken (you also have the option on how you want youreggsto be cooked)

you’ll find the restaurant on leon guinto st. beside a newly built korean eat-all-you-can bbq.

would definitely recommend this branch to my friends!

the waffles with ube and chocolate ganache were perfectly cooked and i loved the ube on top.

the hash browneggsbenedict was equally sumptuous, the pesto adds a good flavour.

kanto freestyle has an extensive menu, i can’t wait to go back again and try their other dishes. it’s a perfect breakfast/ brunch place or in my case, if you are not a morning person, you can still have a taste of breakfast food at anytime of the day 😋

perfect breakfast place and also for a late/midnight meal. im a regular here and the quality of food has been consistent. the prices are also very reasonable and cheap (~100+), considering the quality and other alternatives like fastfood (kfc, jollibee, mcdo) that now cost the same (~100).

best to order for me are: vigan longganisa, bacon & egg, and new zealand tapa. the scrambledeggsare also a must try.

i would rate this nearly at level, for starters see the 39 php bacon on the photo. that made me ... hohumm. i would say they have creative items in the menu and decently priced quality meals like the honey garlic chicken, the pandesal pimiento with cheese and pesto, theeggsbenedict, the waffle selection, etc. but hey, please re-evaluate the bacon (peace). the place is quaint and service quite fast. i would like to go back and check other menu items. no, i wouldn't order the bacon solo again : )

i've tried the honey garlic chicken and theeggsbenedict. the chicken's really great, it's sweet and savory at the same time. though i think the sauce that comes with it varies everyday(?). theeggsbenedict was okay, and i like how they used pandesal for the bread so it feels light and homey with a touch of paprika to spice things up. overall, this place is really nice; a really good merienda tbh. the price is pretty great for the quality of the food. i'd definitely come back to try more of their stuff.

this is my go to place here in taft. i recommend it to all breakfast lovers out there; this place can certainly fulfill your pancakes craving even at 2am🥞
my ultimate favorite menu here is the tuyo with kesong puti! generous portion, and you can choose how youreggswill be cooked🍳
it has a wide variety of menu, and there is not a single dish that i don't like.
kanto freestyle will certainly keep you coming back to try out all of their menu items!

first known in their pasig branch because of their affordable all-day breakfast dishes na masarap! so glad that they are continuing to grow and serve more people all day, errday!

crispy corned beef - coated corned beef rolled into a ball. one of the crowd favorites! best paired with their tomato pesto.

daing na bangus - i really love how this bangus was perfectly crisp at ang sarap ng suka nila. super sulit talaga dito!

tuyo and kesong puti - another pinoy favorite available whole day! served with fresh pesto tomatoes and 2eggstopped with kesong puti, we chose oureggsto be cooked scrambled and poached. 😋 sarap kasi hindi masyadong maalat yung tuyo at ang sarap ng timpla ng suka nila.

baked beans with crispy pork belly and pita bread - toasted bread was used instead of pita bread kasi naubusan daw sila, pero okay lang. all my life i was fooled into believing that i can only eat pork and beans na nasa lata. hahaha. omg. this was the real deal!!! the pork was crispy and the beans!!! yuuuummmm! 😍😍 okay din yung toasted bread, perfect match sila.

hash brown topped with poached egg and tomato pesto - a healthy meal to kick off your day. the hash brown and poached egg was cooked perfectly and tastes good however, i was looking for something more to it. maybe, some spam?

oreo cookie butter pancakes - 3 layers of buttery, soft, and fluffy pancakes. the butter was already in the mixture that's why you don't have to worry if you don't have enough to spread on your pancakes. the oreo cookie and the chocolate syrup on the plate was not overwhelmingly sweet as it sounds.

karamel frappe eh - may it be for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner this caramel frappe is a must try for an affordable price.

scramble - this made us miss our childhood days. good thing they brought this here! though we were expecting a better version of this one, pwede na kahit sobrang tamis.

iced mocha - this can be paired perfectly with just anything on their menu! yummm!!!

grilled buttered suman with ube and goya ganache - kanto style suman for brekky! the ube and goya ganache was on point!

crispy corned beef rating: 5/5
daing na bangus rating: 5/5
tuyo and kesong puti rating: 5/5
baked beans with crispy pork belly and pita bread rating: 5/5
hash brown topped with poached egg and tomato pesto rating: 3.5/5
oreo cookie butter pancakes rating: 5/5
karamel frappe eh: 5/5
scramble: 3.5/5
iced mocha rating: 5/5
grilled buttered suman rating: 5/5

august 27, 2018 it's so nice to walk around the taft-malate area when there are no classes. there are hardly any cars and the sidewalks are crowd free making it easier to get from here to there. puppycat and i decided to have brunch at kanto freestyle. this is our first time at this place and the following are what we ordered:

kapeng kano - there's that batangas brewed coffee taste but it looked a bit watered down to me. but hey it's 50 pesos so i got what i paid for. they gave me a glass with ice for me to transfer the hot coffee into. i wanted it cold. just to be clear it already looked pale even in the coffee cup.

vigan longganisa with 2 sunnyside up eggs, fried tomatoes and garlic rice - yessssssss! this was the bomb. i also liked their seasoned vinegar. there are 4 pieces of longganisa that are savory garlicky, burnt on the outside but thankfully still juicy on the inside. the fried tomatoes tasted like it had basil oil on it. theeggswere not overcooked. a little bit of rice, some egg, a pinch of that tomato and a sliver of the longganisa with vinegar all in 1 spoon makes for the perfect bite. one complaint though, how come other people who've posted their pictures here got 2 tomatoes while i only got 1?!? i demand a recount! also, i hate it how they almost ruined this dish by overcooking the longganisa.

peanut butter and banana pancakes - this was terribly disappointing. first off, it says peanut butter but when i tasted the sauce on top it was chocnut. i have nothing against chocnut but that's so far from what was advertised. it's beautifully plated but the pancakes were not fluffy, as in it was like stale bread. like when i was cutting into it it wouldn't separate that easy. it was so dense, it gave me the impression that it wasn't newly cooked. they probably have pre-made some and just heated them up hence the stale texture. i thought boxed maya pancakes are better than this. the fried sugared bananas though are great. also the sauce was only on the pancake on top so the rest of them have nothing not even butter. i heard another diner asking for more syrup and the sever said that's an additional 5 pesos.

4 pieces of bacon with garlic rice - puppycat had this as in she freestyled her order. each piece of bacon is 39 pesos and then she just ordered the sinangag to go with that. it's worth it though cause each bacon slice is meaty and large enough.

i'm still giving them a 3 even if it was a pancake fail because they have fairly decent rice meals. their service crew are also very attentive and friendly. next time, i'll stick to ordering their savory fare. the menu here does not reflect their current prices, cause i'm sure it's a bit higher now but still quite affordable.

i previously scored them a 4 but i brought them down to 3. i've been scanning the pictures of other reviewers and it's quite clear they don't have consistency when it comes to making their dishes. this place is a hit and miss sort of restaurant.

we will probably still give this place another try but not anytime soon.

no-frills:
daing na bangus (marinated milkfish in vinegar and garlic) was good as expected.

mixed berry pancakes were a bit dry and the batter's flavor was so-so. a notable trait would be the playful use of chocolate on the sides. overall, this dish is a one-time try for me.

lucban longanisa is my favorite dish as of today. the garlicky flavor was very addicting and it really felt like morning when i had it with 2 eggs; i tried visiting passed 12am. note that you can have botheggsmore than 1 way (scrambled, sunny side up, etc.). i love their version of scrambled; it reminds me of the style of a specific fast food restaurant but this one's plenty!

waffle and chicken is becoming a common combination these days. the chicken is typical fried chicken with no unique flavor. the waffle's consistently felt like it was heated right after coming from the freezer. for me, the perfect waffle should be crunchy outside and soft inside.

thrills:
chocnut champorado with tuyo was good because they use good quality chocolate. the tuyo serving was extremely minimal so i'm not quite sure if that was intentional. bits of chocnut were apparent and obviously expected, and i must say, not bad at all!

service:
the queue to enter the restaurant was orderly and we were given menus in advance. thankfully, we were first in line! servers were knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly, and polite. waiting time for food was long but we were already given a heads-up due to a full house. extra syrup was offered proactively. (3 months ago)

service for my 2nd visit was fairly quick and they didn't serve my orders at the same time, helping me pace myself and still have warmer food later on.

verdict:
they have so much potential so we'll definitely return.

all-day breakfast! if you’re craving for what your mom used to prepare before going to school every morning way back in high school and elementary, this place got you covered! they are giving justice to “silogs” which have been a favorite filipino breakfast. you must try their scrambled eggs, but if you’re not into it, you can also have theeggs- sunny-side up, poached, or anyway you like it. you can also have your favorite american delights like pancakes or waffles if you’re not into rice. no question, food is awesome! but the place tends to be hot since there’s no air conditioning and the space is small. the service is not that good, but acceptable. overall, their food makes it up for their shortcomings.
