i'm a regular for a reason. their chicken meals are always so huge and delicious. relatively quickly served than expected, of course just not in peak hours. i always order either honey garlic chicken or chicken and waffle (which by the way is quite affordable for its huge serving and compared to cafe prices), then when in doubt i go for vigan longganisa which hasn't failed me. super good, highly recommend if not for few dishes that misses, like spanish sardines tempura or eggs benedict. i'll just warn you about the benedict dishes, i have tried once and i got really disappointed because it was too sour and too expensive for a sandwich.

went here for a monday brunch. the place has a good homey feeling to it and the staff is very accommodating. the food is good for its price, considering that they offer a generous amount of serving. we enjoyed the dishes, they were tasty and also pleasing to look at. their vigan longganisa is a must-try. however, the pancakes that we ordered were dense and not fluffy at all.

i would recommend this place to those who enjoy a hearty, savory breakfast at any time of the day. although, it could get a bit crowded and steamy (especially on the first floor) since they don't have an a/c.

this is one of my go-to restaurants in taft. if you’re a big fan of breakfast food, then you won’t go wrong with this place.

the place is very much welcoming and the staff attends to the customers immediately. there are no air conditioning in the restaurant but the fans are enough to keep the area air-breezed.

you get what you pay for in terms of amount, but surprisingly tastier than i expected. the food usually takes around 10-15 minutes to be served but we hardly notice the time because the place is always relaxing enough to enjoy chatting.

for the bestsellers, my go-to dishes are the pampanga tocino, nz beef tapa, vigan longganisa, and honey garlic chicken (you also have the option on how you want your eggs to be cooked)

you’ll find the restaurant on leon guinto st. beside a newly built korean eat-all-you-can bbq.

would definitely recommend this branch to my friends!

went there for sunday brunch. the place was packed with people and was a bit steamy, since they don’t have aircon.
the honey garlic chicken had a big serving size, which will definitely fill you up. the sweet notes was appropriate for a breakfast meal, and was balanced by the creamy mayo sauce they gave. the tomato pesto side dish was very fresh and juicy - i loved it!
the dangit tasted fresh, and the vigan longganisa had a good blend the garlic, sweet and salty flavors (though it’s a bit different from the authentic ones).
the pancakes were a bit too dense, but otherwise, the batter was good.

the service was a bit slow tho, so prepare to wait for a while.

overall, it was a great experience. i would definitely go back there again!

the waffles with ube and chocolate ganache were perfectly cooked and i loved the ube on top.

the hash brown eggs benedict was equally sumptuous, the pesto adds a good flavour.

kanto freestyle has an extensive menu, i can’t wait to go back again and try their other dishes. it’s a perfect breakfast/ brunch place or in my case, if you are not a morning person, you can still have a taste of breakfast food at anytime of the day 😋

kanto freestyle is my go-to food place in taft near dlsu. it serves a lot of classic filipino 'silog' dishes that will never disappoint you.

this is truly the perfect student-friendly breakfast joint out there.

i am always been a fan of kanto freestyle in kapitolyo. so when i moved in to malate and found out there is a branch here, it is the first restaurant i went to visit. i only ordered bacon and egg. it is not crispy as the bacon in kapitolyo but it is still good. i have got no time to eat pancakes that is why i can't compare their pancakes yet. but all in all it still deserves 5*s.

a very food place for breakfaat before start your day. i went to kanto in de la salle branch. i ordered corned beef package, that almost like fritter. the package comes out with garlic fried rice, two sunny side egga, and fried tomato. i also wanted to order the chicken longganisa, but unavailable at that time :( the corned was great. deep fried well.

was super excited when kanto opened next to the building i lived in (while i lived in manila). i used to go to their pioneer branch a lot in the years before but always had to drive, so it was exciting to have them within walking distance.

unfortunately the quality of service has deteriorated in this branch. i thought at first it was just because people might be tired late at night, but on multiple instances (at different times of day) the staff were inattentive, unwelcoming, and sometimes downright rude. not giving us menus, not giving us water (despite being asked), not smiling even when greeted, and one time they even refused to open the second floor area even though no seats were available on the first. they just advised us to wait for a table to free up. (there's no airconditioning on either floor, so i don't understand what energy was being conserved that they couldn't open both floors.) this was at around 7:00 a.m., so i imagine that's building up to a peak hour for a breakfast place. i stopped going here after that incident.

i've since left manila and am hanging out back at the original branch. worth the drive.

in case you do wind up here, the food that's as good as it is in the other kanto branches are champorado and vigan longganisa.

our group of 5 arrived at 6:30 a.m. two of us have already eaten here before and highly recommended the honey garlic chicken. i tried it and it was great. serving size was filling and the rice was more than enough. the small cup of kapeng barako was also good.

ambience was cozy as they only have a few tables in the ground level.

serving time was also reasonable.

i would return to taste other food here.

food is great and consistent. in all fairness, service has improved a lot. i’ve been coming here since they opened. my first few visits (which were about the first 6 months of the branch) were bad. the service was consistently slow and chaotic from ordering to billing out. cashier was bussing out and serving orders forgetting that she had payments to attend to. those stuff. but it fortunately got better. and hopefully it would last.

perfect breakfast place and also for a late/midnight meal. im a regular here and the quality of food has been consistent. the prices are also very reasonable and cheap (~100+), considering the quality and other alternatives like fastfood (kfc, jollibee, mcdo) that now cost the same (~100).

best to order for me are: vigan longganisa, bacon & egg, and new zealand tapa. the scrambled eggs are also a must try.

my second time in this branch and the service was fast. the serving size and quality of the food matched the price, but the tomato pesto tasted more like a regular tomato now.
