amazing cocunut/macadamia nut shrimp!. we just ate at agreatlocal joint called the kahuhku grill. the staff was really friendly and it's family owned and operated. best of all, the food was the best food we've had during our week-long stay in hawaii. i'm still craving their coconut shrimp! if you're on the north shore, you have to stop in!

we went here yesterday on a recommendation from tim at deep ecology in hale'iwa. it was easy to find (just look for the blue & yellow hand-painted sign). i had the shem's big bad burger without the sauce and bacon. it was delish!!! the guacamole made it a little hard to eat, but it was definitely worth it. i had to cut the burger in half because it was so big. the home fries were ridiculously good, too! the service wasgreatand i loved the outdoor dining and laid-back atmosphere. and instead of using table numbers, they have table names. our table name was amazing. i'd say that summed up our visit to kahuku grill perfectly. i will definitely go back!!!

fabulous. amazing burgers. i had the cowboy, my partner had the burger with blue cheese. both were fresh, delicious, and loaded with flavor. house made fries with special sauce were equally delicious. and service was tremendous.greatspot, too. if you are expecting ordinary, don't bother stopping. only complaint -- need bigger napkins!

unffffff. oh my sweet, sweet baby jesus...this place is great. went there on a whim after a long day of sunshine/swimming.greatprices, amazing food. had a gigantic cheeseburger with bacon and avocado...nothing could've been better at the time. they were out of the coconut+macadamia shrimp at the time but i'll definitely be going back to try it. yum.

great find. kahuku grill is tops! this place isgreatfor a quick bite to eat or a take-away meal for the family. thank god i found somewhere that makes homemade chips not french fries! their coconut shrimp is world famous and now i understand why! would definitely recommend to all my travelling friends! the service was exceptional, and the meals were delivered fast!greatfind!

yum. there aren't a lot of places to eat in this area, especially at night, but this one is great. it's a real restaurant, well at least not shrimp truck - it has tables and a real washroom (although not the cleanest). the coconut shrimp was amazing! i agree, it wasn't the fastest, but after a day at the beach, what are you in a hurry for? ok, that sounds like a mixed review, but the food wasgreatand service was delightful. i would eat there again. service was exceptionally friendly.

this place really knows how to make a burger! it was delicious. i am from texas so i know my way around agreatburger and they nailed it! everything was perfect. i normally don't like onions on my burger but i thought i would try it and the combination od the sauce and onions was a good mix! definitely go here when you are in hawaii i would go back just for another burger!

really good and fresh!. we found this place on urban spoon. the burgers were big and the meat was fresh. i had the coconut macadamia nut shrimp which came with agreatsalad and bed of rice...wow, more than enough food. everyone else loved the spicy, seasoned steak fries. family-owned and super friendly. must try.

best burger on the island. i have tried many. not dry, withgreatflavor. people havegreataloha. give em a shot. you won't be disappointed. world famous shrimp are ono.

best food on osland. i have eaten all over oahu my family and i visit all the time and this place has the best food and the best prices on the entire island. its a small family owned and operated place tucked away behind a gas station in a town called kahuku, and it has been the best place we've been too as far as restaurants go.greatatmosphere andgreatservice and the mural in their diner is a must see. we will be back! don't miss out on the kahuku grill and their coconut macadamia nut shrimp (only place that has this type of shrimp)
p.s. come hungry because they give you alot of food!

excellent food in a down to earth simple setting. if you wantgreatfood and don't care about eating with disposable plateware, this is the place. definitely worth the 10 minute drive from the north shore sunset beach area to eat vs one of those mediocre generic beach truck grills that serve bland overpriced sandwiches etc. had the garlic shrimp, very delicious! highly recommended. also, try the chocolate chip banana bread sundae, it's awesome!

kahuku grill-nate howard. this is truley a hidden jewel for the north shore, everything i've had here is amazing from the fish to the burgers. my favorites would have to be the double cheese burger and the coconut shrimp, and the fries are unbeatable. the environment is laid back and has a beautiful view from the outside lanai. the service isgreatas well, it is family owned and operated and it is nothing but pure quality.
