sweet disposition. the name caught me immediately. my name next to my addiction. i am a true chocoholic and was excited to sit on the patio in the sun easter weekend and letjuliettestep in for the easter bunny and give me my fix.

i ordered the chocolate medley (juliette's intense brownie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream served with a melted chocolate sauce) $7.75. it was good, but i wanted more. is that necessarily a negative? perhaps an opportunity to relapse? yes and no. for a specialty dessert shop, i was expecting more of an over indulgence or sugar overdose if you will. as my brother's and mum's crepes arrived, i realized you needed to turn to the flip side for that.

over all everything was delicious and service was very friendly and accommodating; adding chairs to make room on the patio and bridging gaps in the language barrier. worth the extra 12 steps...or more from rue sainte-catherine to pull up a seat at the chocolate bar.

i've been tojuliettenumerous times and have been disappointed all of those. the service is slow, the restaurant is not well maintained ( it always looks dirty...) and as for the deserts, although they are tasty, i've been disappointed as all the ones i've ordered were supposed to be warm and were cold. getting a chocolate fondu with lumps is disappointing one would say. i would much rather go to cacao 70 which is much better !!

can't go wrong here if you love chocolate. came to this location twice before they opened the newjulietteet chocolat on prince arthur. love their crepes. if you come in the summer, i would recommend trying to get a table out back in the courtyard-ish seating area. it's a bit crowded inside the restaurant.

disappointed. today i stopped byjulietteet chocolat on st. denis to pick up a gift for my prof and gifts for my family back in the prairies. for the few weeks that i have been in montreal taking a french class the service here is questionable. it took me a few minutes to gather my thought and figure out what i was going to bring for my prof and home. i asked the server behind the counter how long can the little pots of hazelnut cream stay in the fridge before going bad and her response was forever. (that was really helpful!) the server never smiled once or gave me a response ever time i said thank you. and it just kept getting worse from there. honestly, i would recommend going to the rue st. laurent location. the service there isn't the best but its way better than the st. denis location. i'm not sure if the servers there were having a bad day, don't like me because i spoke english or they just hate their jobs.......i hope this comment helps especially friendly tourists who should get decent service if they are going to be spending money on pricey desserts.

on my last evening of a recent trip to montreal, my niece and i decided to head out for a late dinner.  we really didn’t have a place in mind so jumped on a subway to st. denis street to see what struck our fancy.  we happened uponjuliette& chocolate , at which point bekah said she had wanted to try it and i realized that i had seen one of their salads on a friend’s facebook page and i too had it on my “must try” list. i had the namesakejuliette& chocolate salad which was an interesting combination of flavours.  mixed greens with strawberries, pear, goat cheese and a balsamic and chocolate salad dressing, it was topped with a crouton like object made by swirling buckwheat crepe batter in a hot pan.  i was pleased to find that it was not overly sweet but instead the dark chocolate notes and the vinegar was a nice combination with the crunch fruit and the creamy chevre. bekah selected the buckwheat crepe topped with pesto, walnuts and goat cheese. we were both satisfied with our choi

not great. i have been tojulietteet chocolat a couple of times, mainly when it first opened in montreal a while back. every time i go i seem to have the same issues:

1. orders take a long time to come out. i always find myself waiting, whether we are a large or small group.

2. the food is not exceptional. just average i would say.

3. it feels like a chain. it is trying hard to blend into the zeitgeist of montreal's unique cafes and terraces, but it isn't. it uses cheap finishes and bad decor that are a far cry from the warm ambiance that is truly a unique montreal joint.

i avoid going to these restaurants and am really surprised that they are getting such great reviews. i will try again seeing these reviews, perhaps they have changed in the couple of years i haven't stepped into one.

dessert lover's heaven. for those of you from ontario, julietteet chocolat is similar to demetre's but infinitely better!

there are so many choices from sweet desserts (e.g. ice cream, fondue, etc.) to savoury crêpes.

i can say nothing negative about this place. every montreal trip consists of going tojulietteet chocolat on multiple occasions in hopes of trying everything on the menu.
