good food. after only being open for 5 days, my wife and i decided to have dinner there for our anniversary. the food was good, try the 3 cheese polenta, outstanding. caesar salad prepared table side was ok, a little overpriced, a little to much vinegar for a true caesar dressing. steak cooked to perfection, seemed a little small for the price point. disappointing table side prepared cherries jubilee. i would go back but will wait till things settle down, service a little slow, forgot our after dinner drink. most disappointing was the bravern's parking policy, , we went and walked the shops then had dinner at john howie steak, we had them validate but bravern only validates for 3 hours, having to pay $10 for parking was a let down, especially after spending $180 on dinner for 2, not about the $10 but the principle for a retail environment to charge for parking.

oh my. yum. really, this was a very special dinner. from the bread through to the dessert, everything had a flavor that was well planned. never have i seen a wine list with so many glass pour options. it made it really fun to select from. i ate the japanese wagyu filet. only 4 oz, but what a wonderful treat. this isn't american wagyu, it is flown in fresh from japan. and they present you with a special "shun" knife from japan to cut it with. nice touch. we ended up spending a little bit of money, but the reward was remarkable. bellevue may have just found a restaurant that is better than any of those in seattle. celebrate!

i got to eat at craft steak in las vegas - chef tom colicchio's place. there is really no comparison. both the steaks and sides at john howie steak are superior.
