outstanding steak!. nothing fancy, but jocko's has the best steak in the area; i highly recommend the filet! unless you're a big eater, recommend you share a steak and order the additional side dishes for $7. make sure you make a reservation, as it's a longwaitfor dinner walk-ins.

what a shame.  i have come to jocko's for 45+ years.  recently returning to the area for a visit, jocko's was on my must go to list.  grabbing high school friends, off we went.  i ordered what i had for decades, the small spencer steak, medium well.  one friend had the linguica and two others the large steak sandwich.  
when the food finally arrived ( a good 45 minutes after ordering )  i could immediately see this steak looked far different then in years past.  never before had it have a sliver of fat and this was large, but not in a good way.  worst yet, the steak knife i had forgo before, was not only necessary this time out, but worthless as the steak was not only tough, but rare, very rare.  my friends linguica was the dimensions of a penny.  the two steak sandwiches were barely touched.  
service was not up to par with the high prices.  what a shame towaitsuch a long time to revisit a once local favorite, only to be disappointed and embarrassed to have insisted to the others to go there in the 1st place.  sorry jocko's, no one will be "follow me to jocko's" again.

first time customer samiam. great tasting food , well worth thewait, you get grat food for a lot less money and nice and kind service. thank you .

walked away after a 2.5 hour wait!!!!!. arrived as a walk in reservation and was told about an hour wait. checked back with the reservation gals a few time up until we just couldn'twaitanymore. this is or was the first and last visit. and now that i've read reviews we will not be dining inside. i will order takeout only. i saw white boxes leaving the establishment in droves. save your time and tip money and take out!!!!!!

not worth the wait. ate here on 3 separate occasions. the first time we had a reservation and still had towait2 hours to be seated and another hour to receive our meals. the other 2 times it was an hourwaitafter the reservation time. the steak is decent, but everything else is less than desirable.

made a reservation. waited about 2 minutes to be seated. great attentivewaitstaff. you don't come for the atmosphere; you come for the great food! $28 for a 20 oz ribeye!

a favorite family destination. i have for many years been a patron of jocko's. my father is born and raised in santa maria. he took us there as kids and we still go and love jocko's. the restaurant fills up quick and there is at times awaitrequired, so go early to beat the rush. their steaks are scrumptious and large. i look forward to going there every time i am in the area.

weird but good. was in town for work and everyone said follow the smoke to jacko's. had a 6:30 reservation that was not seated till 7:30. the food was good but not great. not sure it was worth thewaitbut it was better than other choices in the area. was good price for what we got though. don't understand the fascination though with this place.

funky but awesome steaks. everything about this place is a trip and is actually pretty funny. but the steaks are some of the best ever. order the spencer! sides are far below average, and if you make reservations, prepare towaitup to an extra hour after you come in. but overall, well worth the wait. homely waitresses in their big ole '50's dresses, the odd locals (all pretty friendly), make for an experience like no other. and again, amazing steaks!

good steaks on oak wood are the only thing going here. thewaitis always over an hour. atmosphere is caffateria style seating. elbow to elbow

not a fan. rude staff, longwaitand horrible atmosphere. plus pricey. i live in the area and choose the other steakhouses rather than give my money to folks who don't seem to care if i come or not. there's always a wit so i guess they don't need my business.

this is by far the best steakhouse i've been to. expect towaita hour or more, but it's definitely worth the wait. the portions are huge and the food is expertly seasoned. flavor crusted on the outside, buttery soft and juicy on the inside. one of my top picks.

we really enjoyed our visit. the meat was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. we waited about an hour to be seated. the hostess said 60-90 minutes initially. it is well worth thewaitbut make reservations anyway. jocko's is a must when you are on the central coast.

best steakhouse in this area. this a must go to if you are in this area. it will be a longwaitbut worth it...........
