wow. this place is surely different. first of all, they serve you salsa with crackers and different pickled veggies. the bar is the first thing you see when you walk in and it is dark and old school. when i eat here i feel like i am eating in the 1940s. it's different very unattractive building but of course thesteaksare perfect and the prices are great as well. had the spencer steak and it was great. liked it more than the new york which i normally get. crazy place with awesome steaks.

jockos is an old time ranchers eatery, come here for bigsteakscooked over red oak the santa maria way. cafe style dining room and simple sides.

the big boy's steak house in central california. a freakishly large portion of hearty food, located a reasonably short drive off the 101-freeway south of pismo beach. if you are a steak lover, you will love this place.

be prepared to indulge in hugesteaksand huge side dishes (the baked potato and baked beans were especially good). the atmosphere is laid back, nothing fancy. there's a lot of space and seating is comfortable. recommend making a reservation if you can. service is good and the crowd is a mix of regulars and those stopping in on the way up or down the coast.

i'd say the prices were high, except for the massive portions you get for them. i can't remember if i left off the last star because of how light my wallet was after the meal or how heavy my stomach was from all the good food.

a favorite family destination. i have for many years been a patron of jocko's. my father is born and raised in santa maria. he took us there as kids and we still go and love jocko's. the restaurant fills up quick and there is at times a wait required, so go early to beat the rush. theirsteaksare scrumptious and large. i look forward to going there every time i am in the area.

best steak around! they use a huge oak pit bbq, which gives the meat a wonderful flavor. thesteaksare very juicy and tender, you don't even need a knife to cut. the filet mignon is more like 10 or 12 oz, rather than the typical 6 oz. great food, nice atmosphere. call ahead to make a reservation if going on a weekend. they fill up fast! highly recommend.

you might think this was a good steakhouse if you were used to ordering steak from sizzler or denny's, but thesteakswere tough and tasteless. add to that the long wait, the marginal side dishes, the surly waitresses and the rude bus boys, you'd be much better off driving over to in & out burger for a much tastier meal.

funky but awesome steaks. everything about this place is a trip and is actually pretty funny. but thesteaksare some of the best ever. order the spencer! sides are far below average, and if you make reservations, prepare to wait up to an extra hour after you come in. but overall, well worth the wait. homely waitresses in their big ole '50's dresses, the odd locals (all pretty friendly), make for an experience like no other. and again, amazing steaks!

really very good.... we have been having lunch or dinner here since 1966, anytime we pass within 50 miles. the far western in guadalupe used to be at least as good, but not so any longer. keep it up jocko's, yoursteaksare the best anywhere on the central coast. also a bar which is just that, a bar, not a cocktail lounge! the pride of nipomo...

jocko's steaks. by far the best steak house on the central coast, if you want good food go here! if you want atmosphere go somewhere else! i highly recommend this - order a large spence steak and pork chops - each person gets a chop and a half a steak! still the beststeaksfor over 40 years!!!!!

goodsteakson oak wood are the only thing going here. the wait is always over an hour. atmosphere is caffateria style seating. elbow to elbow
