this is a greatplaceto eat delicious japanese without paying the big bucks! the food is delicious, the staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back. i never take a trip to myrtle beach without stopping in to jimmyz!

great littleplaceto get fast hibachi. the steak is always good. i normally get the steak plate with veggies and rice. they have yum yum sauce on the tables (a mayonnaise based sauce) and you can ask for the ginger sauce. both are great. they have lunch size portions also. the rice is a bit bland. i might try the noodles next time. but the rest is good. it has a little outdoor area so you can enjoy the outdoors also. the outdoor area is covered so it's always in the shade, but it is on kings so traffic can be a little loud on busy days.

jimmyz is quite good. this is anotherplacethat is really good and ultra affordable. this is anotherplacewhere you can go and it won't break the bank.

best japanese flavor, period.. i love coming to myrtle beach, but am always scared of dropping good money on a lackluster meal. i read the reviews of jimmyz on urbanspoon and decided to roll the dice. i also liked the selection of fish available for hibachi style. i was astounded by the flavor, presentation and portion size. the service was outstanding and kid friendly. i got the kicking shrimp and hibachi tuna combination which was just under $14. absolutely awesome flavor, cooked to perfection and each component on the plate carried a distinct rich flavor. the sauces were obviously house made and very tasty. i also liked the small bistro, cosy atmosphere. hands down the best tasting japanese i have had to date, to include many expensive japanese steakhouses. will definitely be returning for lunch before we leave town. give thisplacea try for a good affordable family meal.

great food, and they deliver!. i have driven past thisplaceseveral times and even read the great reviews here on urbanspoon and other sites. i was a bit turned off by the outside appearance of the restaurant and never tried it. well... we didn't have time to go out for dinner this evening, but we really wanted hibachi and this seemed like a good option. we were very happy with the results. my husband and i both tried the pick three meat dinner options. we ordered filet, shrimp, and teriyaki chicken. it also came with fried rice and grilled vegetables (broccoli, onions, and squash). the filet lived up to the top quality standards they describe. perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. the shrimp were great and even better dipped in the seafood sauce they give you (don't worry about ordering the bottle of the sauce your meal comes with plenty). the chicken was good, but next time i think i would go with just steak and shrimp. it was not as good as those two options.
we also ordered the crazy roll. again, very good. top quality ingredients and it arrived perfectly fresh along with our dinners.
two negatives - the roll was 6 pieces for $7.50. i expected 8 or so. the rice is very simple. literally fried, nothing in it. it was fine, but i prefer there to be a bit more flavor in my fried rice.
overall, a great meal. very fast delivery. it got here in less than 30 minutes. the dinners were fabulous and very affordable. i will be eating here more often.

while visiting myrtle beach, we were intrigued by the hibachi houses that looked less like the fancy steakhouse restaurants we are used to and more like fast food type places.  they have drive thru windows. drive thru hibachi houses.  say what ? jimmyz hibachi is what we were recommended on the main strip filled with seafood restaurants and pancake houses. jimmyz sits on a corner without a sign so it can be easy to pass by (the sign looked like it was wiped out by a storm and never replaced.) it’s a counter serviceplacewhere you order your food and have it delivered to your table.  chad and i both went for the 2 meat or seafood dinner combinations ($12.25.) i ordered scallops and tuna and all dinner plates are served with fried rice and hibachi veggies.  it was amazing.  while i didn’t get the soup and salad you will get a fancier full service hibachi

jimmyz north vs south. i ate here back a few years ago and it was awesome, we are going to mb in late july and was looking for aplaceto go for cheap eats, remembered the great experience we had before and wanted to see if anything changed...notices some bad reviews, then it dawned on me! these were the "northerners" reviews. if you're from "off" don't come here...you won't like the food! that's cause it's good!

thisplacedoesn't live up to all the good reviews. not much flavor. food arrived cold. i guess it would be good if i had a few drinks, but not aplacei will visit again.

delicious! i read the urbanspoon reviews and decided to try thisplaceout. theplaceitself is maybe a little rough looking but the food is awesome. get the chicken teriyaki bowl. best of all they have unlimited shrimp sauce!

i read all the reviews and i will honestly tell you what i think. number 1: theplacedid not smell bad. we picked our food up to go and it was not bad to sit and wait for the food. number 2: they do not cook the food in front of you, but i swear it is as good if not better than big fancy hibachi restaurants. we will definitely be coming back each year we come to the beach!!

"unusual fast food." i now understand why this type of fast food is so scarce. my understanding of hibachi is the spectacle of food preparation and the discipline of the chef itself. thisplacedegrades that essence and adds it to the "instant gratification spectrum" of fast food. the restaurant located on highway 17 of myrtle beach, another clue it is meant for on the go, is quite "unhealthy" looking with its un-mopped floors and dirty crammed tables. they attempt to contrast this "appeal" by adding outdoor seating which helps you in escaping the deep fryer smell. the "banging shrimp special" i ordered was nothing short of greasy and thoughtless. it tasted as if the deep fryer oil hadn't been changed in months! the fountain drinks, which were not included in the "special," also tasted like a carbonated mess! i thought a special was meant to showcase the restaurants talents. thisplacefulfills all the requirements for fast food, but does nothing to make hibachi "original." for me, curiosity definitely killed the cat.

good, cheap food.. we were pleasantly surprised by jimmyz! i ordered a volcano roll and the teriyaki chicken plate. both were very good, and best of all, thisplaceis dirt cheap. wish we had aplacelike this where i live!
