poor service. had the worst service and the food was mediocre, we placed our order for mixed salad greens and we received the strawberry spinach salad, that was fine we thought maybe she did not understand us correctly, i opened my napkin only to find a knife but no fork. i had the salad on my plate but no fork so i asked the waitress if she could please get me a fork. i waited and waited while she cleared off tables and took orders from other patrons. eventually i had to ask another waitress for a fork which she immediately brought to me. about 15 minutes later the waitress came to me with a fork. we then had some sort of appetizer that was cheese baked in a crust, there was nothinggoodabout it at all. we ordered the mexican pizza which was supposed to be spicy (it had a picture of a hot pepper beside it) but it ended up being very bland tasting. she did not ask if i would like another glass of wine as it sat empty half way through the meal. worst of all it took another half hour to get our bill, i had to flag her down in order to pay. the restaurant itself was very unique and the music was excellent but i would think twice about eating there again.

this restaurant is located in the centre of old montreal & has a beautiful outdoor ambiance. it's busy & noisy; the food was ok, nothing special. the live band wasgoodbut we were seated directly next to them making it difficult to carry a conversation with friends.

one of the few gluten free places in the plaza.  service is at a relaxed pace so you won't be hurried, but you also won't get in and out quick.  the herb chicken wings appitizer was amazing, some of the most delicious wings i've had before.  the gf pizza was decent and the banana chocolate crepe wasgoodbut if you want a real crepe go to creperie du marche in the jean talon market.  sit out front and enjoy people watching and you may still partially hear the live music.  a little pricey but the exchange rate for us dollars made it not bad.

i heard so manygoodcomments about jardin nelson from some of my friends that i attempted to get in there in a couple of occasions but, the place is so busy most of the time that i ended up bouncing to somewhere else...

however, we had the opportunity to finally get in the last day of the season. it was a nice day but a bit cold already. we sat down in the patio where live jazz music was playing. the ambiance was very relaxing and, luckily, they had heaters that helped with the cold.

we had coffee and lunch and, the food wasgoodindeed. i had the seafood crepe which looked very plain and simple but, it was full of delicious seafood and cheese. i really enjoyed it!

based on my experience, i believe that we didn't see the best of jardin nelson for it being the end of the season but, we saw enough potential to believe it has a lot more to offer during the peak of the season.

we went there for our anniversary. food wasgoodbut it didn't impress me that much from what my gf have been telling me. maybe it was because i took the wrong dish. nonetheless i really like the ambiance and the musicians. i will have to go back to try the food again just to be sure.

nice ambiance overpriced average food the best thing about this place is how cute the back terrace is, with its live jazz band and pretty flowers. the drinks are verygoodtoo although bit pricey. the food however i found to be overpriced for what it is and lacks any innovation or creativity. this place is definitely not for the foodie. however for a date night if you just want to have a drink, this place is a pleasant option.

incredibly touristy spot and very very busy. that said, atmosphere is buzzing in agoodway, the setting makes you feel well like you are in a garden and they had a live jazz band playing.  food was ok, service was friendly, courteous and prompt.

food isgoodbut i go there more for the ambiance of the terrasse so summer months only for me. during the week they often have a jazz band on playing there. get there early or reserve if not you will have to eat inside.

the dishes we ordered weregood- nothing fancy, just simple. if you wanted toasts, potatoes, or beans, that came with at an extra cost (a little strange for a breakfast place).

the place is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. theres even people playing jazz. however, i wouldnt go back. the service was great. the problem was the food. we ordered bruschetta for our entree, my friend ordered the duck pate chinois and i got the beef sandwich (i think thats the name). my sandwich tasted like a homemade one. my friend liked her meal, but it wasntgoodenough to justify the price. we also ordered some melon sangria and a cheesecake crepe. the dessert was horrible. the crepe wasntgoodat all. the drink was okay, nothing wow.

only so so. we were visiting montreal on a wednesday and stopped here for lunch. a jazzgoodduo was playing. the place was crowded but the service was ok. i ordered crepe forestier and my wife had the crepe basilico. they were okay, somewhat bland and over priced. the wine selections were standard and again over priced. but then it seems every place on street was over priced so ...

the epitome of the old port experience:all style little substance. buy a keychain instead and save agood50 bucks

agoodtime. great music, delicious bruschetta, but it can get a little tourist-y. i believe they're trying adding some asian-inspired dishes to the menu which seemed out of place to me, the menu is full of many othergoodoptions, though.
