jang ta bal located amongst all the korean bbq places in strathfield is an absolute stand out for me.

they provided some fantastic little side dishes and sauces which are a hit. especially the kimchi 🤤 fresh crispy lettuce to wrap your delicious meat in is also a winner with me.

the pork belly marinated in very spicy sauce was one of my favourite dishes. i loved it so much i was a little piggy and had to get a second serve.
all the meat is outstanding quality and fresh.

i can honestly say this is one of the best korean bbq i’ve had so far! it’s a little costly but trust me if you are about quality and taste, it’s really worth it. thisrestauranthas put me off any all you can eat korean bbq, i would rather spend a little extra and have a fantastic night with some amazing food.

where’s your go to korean bbq spots?

this korean bbqrestaurantis got to be my all time and go to kbbq!!!! they serve up the most quality fresh meat including all beef, pork and chicken; as well as marinated!!! i would say their marinated meat is marinated to perfection! their kimchi pancake is something you would also want to order along with eating bbq meat!

been wanting to try out this place for the longest time because of all the positive reviews and heard so many good things about it, so i’m happy i finally got to visit!

first time we came, we arrived at 6pm and there was a 1-2hr wait due to peak dinner time. so we decided to have an early dinner at 4:30pm to avoid the crowd. it was pretty empty inside which was great as it wasn’t too noisy.

we ordered the wagyu set, pork belly, seafood pancake and cold noodles. the meat quality was amazing, it was so tender and melted in our mouths! the seafood pancake was also super crispy, and the cold noodles with the freshly cooked meat made the perfect combo. also loved the side dishes that came with everything – especially the mashed potato.

the staff were attentive and served our food promptly after ordering. there was also a spray outside therestaurantwhen you walk out so you won’t smell like bbq. would definitely come back again!

visited 16nov19:
the whole area near this place is all korean cuisine. thisrestaurantis one of most popular place for authentic kerean dishes.
very crowded and pretty noisy at 11pm.

soon whole table were full of dishes and staff were attentive.
complimentary awesome egg soup came with kimchi too😀
all meat was fresh marinated and tasty.
korean plum wine was very strong and a little sweetness compared to japanese one.

surely we all enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
difinitely dine in again when we visit sydney.

one of the best korean bbq experiences i have had in strathfield. from the moment you walk in you are set for an experience. there are various seating arrangements, and i had the pleasure of sitting on the floor seating which was cozey and comfortable. it really felt homely and comfortable.

the dishes although a bit on the pricey side are well worth it. you are greeted with a large variety of side dishes which are a plus at any korean restaurant. there are various meats to choose from and the portions are quite large. every piece of meat had exceptional quality. the staff were very attentive and assisted with cooking the meat when needed without being asked.

there is lots of traditional korean alcohol such as plum wine and soju to enjoy. this is truly a great place to go with a group of friends if you’re looking to leave happy. the experience was out of this world and is the stand outrestaurantamongst the various korean bbq restaurants in strathfield.

this place can have long lines on the weekend for good reason so it could be useful to book if you're going during peak time. it would have to be one of my favourite restaurants when i'm craving korean bbq - all of the meat provided is excellent quality. i particularly recommend the wagyu beef bulgogi and beef brisket. usually, i tend to share amongst 2-3 people one of the meat sets that has a combination of pork and beef. make sure to ask for extra red pepper sauce; it's delicious with the meat. if you're lucky, you will get crab as one of the free sides, something which most korean bbq restaurants don't offer. it's also good to see that they've expanded their selection of pre-cooked dishes - the japchae is great. you also have the option for traditional korean seating on the floor, and it's nice having the option to sit near the back of therestaurantnow that smoking isn't allowed there.

after watching a movie in town hall, we decided to hit up this kbbq located a couple minutes walk from the train station in strathfield. arriving here at roughly 6:30pm on a wednesday night, therestaurantwas already half occupied but luckily we didn’t have to wait and was seated immediately because about an hour later when our food was served, the tables were full already.

we ordered the bbq set which included marinated beef ribs, wagyu intercostal and wagyu scotch fillet ($69), a side of pork belly ($20), egg soup ($10) and the cold noodles served in soup with chilli paste sauce ($13) with the complimentary standard korean side dishes (potato, pickles and kimchi).

pricing wise, not the most cost effective kbbq around in the area but the cuts of meat were decently sized and we were very satiated afterwards. egg soup could be passed if there were other options you wanted to try from the menu but the cold noodles is recommended because the tart flavour and the coldness breaks through the heat of the meat.

wait staff were abundant in numbers but the service was still lacking because we found ourselves having to always wait for quite some time/other nearby customers alerting them before we had their attention. overall, still a good kbbq experience but will probably try anotherrestaurantin the future.

just tried out this busy bbqrestauranttoday. it did not take long for us to get a table, waited for around 10 mins at 6pm.
the most important part is, meat were of great quality. side dishes were good as well. the peach makgeoli (not sure if i spelled right) tastes wonderful and we easily finished the whole bottle lol.
would definitely come back.

overratedrestaurantwith decent food, high prices and disgusting customer service.

the last time we visited as a big group of 15, we had to repeatedly ask the same staff members to bring us cutlery and sauce. they would then continue to leave us waiting. 20 minutes into the meal, a few of us were still waiting for our cutlery so that we could eat. staff members seemed unhappy and did not care about our obvious frustration.

upon finally visiting this place after knowing of it's popularity for a while, surprisingly it did meet expectations. as this place doesn't take bookings, if you're planning to come eat here, have an early dinner. upon arrival, if there's no space they will put your name on reserve on their ipad system in which they will text you when they're ready to have you. for an arrival at 6pm, this meant an 1hr and 15min wait for us, so hopefully you have some friends to chat to or shopping to get done otherwise it would be a frustrating wait. thankfully with the former i was able to be patient. walking in you enter this enclosed space with a very rustic/underground vibe where everyone is just chilling, enjoying a meal. thisrestauranthas good quality, fresh meat and had a variety of side dishes suited for kbbq. service was very efficient as we sat down they immediately brought all the necessary condiments. everything was tasty from the meat, egg drop soup, japchae and pancakes. refill requests were also efficient. without a doubt, it was an expensive meal, in line with all kbbq places in sydney. despite this, it's a place with tasty food and a great atmosphere to have a casual hangout with friends.

this kbbqrestauranthas the hype and social vibes for a good night out + eating loads of meat. the menu has a range of sets of meats, which i adore the premium wagyu set and definitely not the pork set, and the price range is definitely above average. if you weigh the mood/atmosphere with the amount and quality of food, it's pretty balanced.
we had various veggies (loads of garlic) and meat sets with rice bowls, and was completely satisfied by the second hour of eating.
the service was prompt (from the button on the side wall) and friendly, refills are free, and the venue was pretty cozy (and smokey!). the only negative about this place (as with all other kbbq places) is when you leave the restaurant, you end up smelling super smokey and your hair might even have ash in it. definitely worth a visit in strathfield! \(≧▽≦)/

really really busy but you can put your name down on a list and they'll text you when a table is ready. korean bbq isn't my favourite but i did enjoy this one. we ordered the mixed beef set which all came with nice marinades. the food tasted much better after being cooked on the charcoal grill unlike other places i've been to which uses electric. i like the casual feel of the back of therestaurantbut it can get a bit cold.

nice place, nicely marinated meats, very nice cheesy corn as a side dish but i am very upset with the vegetable hot pot they served us green leafed vegetables that were brown and were off, very horrible because if you are going to open up arestaurantand have people pay for food serve fresh stuff not stuff that has been put off.

i had heard that it was a popular kbbq place so i went ahead and gave it a try. i booked a table a week beforehand to make sure. despite therestaurantbeing small and crammed, the staff members were nice. the service was quick and portions were reasonable. if you do decide to try this place, i recommend booking a table beforehand because this place is quite popular so expect a long line if you just walk-in.
