located at the boulevard in sydney's koreatown, strathfield, jang ta bal will delight every korean barbecue fanatic.

the place ticks all the boxes of a must visit korean barbecue joints.

✅ authentic tasting korean food that leaves an indelible mark in your tastebuds (you will crave for their food specially their oh so appetising seafood pancake and their mouth watering cheese pork ribs)
✅ not just overflowing but well made banchans or traditional korean side dishes
✅ and of course, good korean service

one word of advise, try to book in advance as the place is always full (so as the other k-joints in the area) but you can wait if you don't mind it.

this is a great place for authentic korean bbq. the servings are generous and love that this is a charcoal bbq which gives the meat a lovely smokey flavour.

probably the best place for korean bbq that helps your pocket, the meat here are better than most in strathfield. i love the wagyu platter and the marinated chicken, also their kimchi soup and sides (salads - spring onion) are my favourite and must get every time. the owner and staff are really nice here, some times we get free food for no reason! this does not add to my judgement to the place because the free food we usually get isn't my kind of dish but my friends love it!.  its pretty cheap for what you get!until next time ..... keep eating!!!!

absolutely love this place! this korean bbq has become my group of friends' go to place for birthdays as well as occasional group dinners and is also great for simple date nights. the meat selection is extensive and meats are of premium quality and great value. the unlimited side dishes are also delicious, particularly the creamy mashed potato. their egg soup is always a great choice especially during winter and their raw beef salad tastes fresh, refreshing and just delicious. the ambiance is fun and lively specially during friday and saturday nights and they also have a great selection of soju, korean beer and wine. the service is fast and efficient and staff are always friendly even in the busiest times. i have tried other korean bbq places but always find myself coming back to this place. will be back for sure!

this place is our go-to joint for group eatings. the food is great and not too expensive. the staff are superb and friendly, although sometimes they cant understand english but its ok. the ambience is lively, loud and full of energy. there are plenty of meaty selections and heaps of good side dishes. great kbbq

awesome atmosphere, real charcoal bbq. fun, busy, doesn't quite feel like your in syndey as you walk through the alley out to the open restaurant in an oversized shed type of space. don't come in your best clothes, it gets very smokey, but thats always the case with charcoal, the side dishes are super generous and its the first time i've seen crab as a side dish.

awesome kbbq! the best i’ve had in sydney – so far (got a few more to try). it's a little on the pricier side, but so delicious and worth a visit.

jang ta bal is a korean bbq restaurant that sits on the boulevarde in strathfield. a cosy diy style eatery which means you get to cook the meat just how you want it. all tables have their own round charcoal grills built into the middle. one of the best things about going to a korean restaurant is all the free sides you get. called ‘ banchan’  these delicious little plates consisted of mashed sweet creamy potato, onions in a light soy wasabi sauce (to accompany the grilled meats), shredded spring onion with chili and vinegar, kimchi (my favorite), baby bok choy stir fried in sesame oil , pickled radish, and marinated dried radish in chili and vinegar. soy marinated beef rib there’s something about cooking over charcoal that makes meat so moist and tasty. this was a serious slab of meat. slowly cooking over the bright red coal really brought out that soy flavor. we ate the ssam style wrapped in lettuce with some rice and kim chi. divine! squid and shallot pancake oh how i love a good seafood pancake! known as ‘ pajeon ‘ this dish a real crowd pleaser, chocked full of tasty squid and shallots and bundled in a crisp batter this dish is seriously addictive. spicy cold noodles the perfect dish for those warmer months, these spicy cold noodles (or  bibim guksu for those in the know) are, as the name suggest, served icy cold. don’t be fooled by this though. this dish is amazingly flavourful. between the chili paste, rice vinegar and sesame oil these noodles are all together spicy, sweet, tangy, salty and nutty. spicy pork ribs with cheese and rice cakes this hot mess was by far my favorite of the night. brought to your table still bubbling away on the hotplate this concoction of soft pork ribs and rice cakes are drowned in a unimaginably good chili sauce and topped with melted cheese.

the best korean bbq in australia!!!. sydney madang has nothing on this!!! if you don't try this place you're nuts and missing out big time!

it's hard to stop myself from going every night. it's amazing quality, absolutely beautiful and friendly staff, and clean! not to mention, cheap!!!

went there on new year's day with a friend. the sitting arrangement was good and spacious.we ordered pork bbq set and a hotpot. it was amazingly tastely and not too hot then in other korean place. the staffs were friendly as well.the other plus point is if u want to smoke u are placed in the one side of the restro and other side is a no smoking area. overall had a good time,worth a visit once.

premium quality meat at an affordable price. i've dined here many times as it is a favourite restaurant of one of my friends.
the meat is consistently premium quality, as is the service. jang ta bal is a bbq restaurant meaning that it specialises in meats, so it is best for carnivores, however, they do serve some traditional korean dishes that are suitable for vegetarians. the food and service at this restaurant is excellent every time i have been.
