indigo

overrated. indigo is a local institution, and the breakfast place to be seen in the eyes of sydney's eastern suburbs elite. nice outdoor area, good staff, and a cavalcade of prestige vehicles passing by.

however coffee is very average and the menu, while extensive, is not on-trend at all. don't come here expecting the creativity you might find on your typical inner-west menu - it's all very traditional. all hot breakfast items are $19.90+ and large coffee is $5.20 (ouch), but if these prices put you off, you're probably not in their target market.

the best indian we have eaten. the food was outstanding. the lamb cutlets were delicious and we could have ordered multiple servings. the alcohol was reasonably priced and good wine list. highly recommended.

wow. what a fantastic restaurant. possibly the best indian meal we have had out. the dishes were succulent, tender and well flavoured with great balance. highly recommended. just wish we lived in napier so we could keep coming back.

...one place that i always drove past and was intrigued by, was indigo. unfortunately they are not open for dinner but breakfast and lunch is always packed to the rim, with a reasonable amount of tables outside offering alfresco dining and of course indoor seating... i stuck to my normal order of a ‘ skim mocha’  and i don’t know why i was expecting a  disappointing coffee but it was surprisingly ridiculously good! ...the  ‘four cheese ravioli w/ blue cheese, parmesan, gruyere  pepper mascarpone & petite flower salad. $26.90  was ridiculously heavy with some extremely prominent flavours. but in saying that, it was phenomenal!

very good service and lovely set up. food was good too. really generous portions but wasn't overwhelmed by the quality. would come back though.

fabulous, fantastic and energetic. these are the best words to describe indigo on a positive note. the rating takes a slight hit as food made in india is much more delicious. but still indigo is hands down the best indian restaurant in all of hawkes bay.

fabulous dinner, fantastic food, lovely wine and nice friendly staff.  i loved it here.  best indian food i have had in a long long time!  there was nothing i could say that i didn't enjoy about it! can't wait to go back next time i am up

perfect start to a perfect sydney day. coffee, juice and the best corn fritters in sydney. well worth a visit.

this place is that good. pleasant service, generous portions, beautifully presented, relaxed atmosphere, ridiculous food choices (!). 10/10.

fitted in the transvaal avenue in double bay, bar indigo has that european cafe feel having 2 indoor areas separated by the entrance to chapel court, and outdoor on the pedestrian island. you know those kinds of cafe that has food selections that you can't choose from? bar indigo is one of them... it took me a good few minutes to decide what to order because everything sounds super good. and also, they have huge portion. i was fooled by the pictures in instagram... the dish was in fact very big. and i love it. hello mr. beard haha. ----------------- capuccinno   great coffee perfect to accompany all the delicious food we're about to discuss below... breakfast bruschetta - with bacon, poached egg, avocado and tomato salsa, balsamic reduction (aud 21.00) i hesitated on ordering this because it sounded so simple. but hey, most of the time simplicity is perfection. there's absolute beauty in the avocado and tomato salsa, matching well with the savoury bacon. the sourdough itself was a bit

really nice waitresses and beautiful mushroom curry. the complimentary poppadoms to start are perfect. we asked for the butter chicken to be extra mild for my mum (she can't handle any spice!) and it was perfect.

also i was so happy to see the huge list of vegetarian mains :)

i love indigo me and my partner have been regulars since it first opened, we love the staff, service and the food. bit of bummer though i love the mango chicken it was actually my favorite thing to eat it used to be packed full of mango flavor and mild not a hint of pepper or chili which i love because i hate anything spicy. it was mild and delicious-like amazing. now they have a new chef the recipe is different it's gone from being sweet and mild to plain flavor and whole peppercorns which i really don't appreciate biting into. can we have the old recipe back please?
