so many choices!. i came here for brunch and there were so many choices on the menu which sounded good. i got the egg white omelette with juice and it was amazing, though i had to get toast extra. i definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu!

we had dinner at indigo once after being recommended going there by a friend. now this is my first option when going out for a indian meal in napier. ten out of ten ! service was one of the best i have come across in napier so far.

i visited napier on business and ordered take away. was pleasantly surprised by the prompt delivery and service. visited the restaurant later that same week and enjoyed the warm atmosphere and friendliness of the staff and authentic indian chefs.
the goat dish i had was delicious - complimented by the good selection of great new zealand wines.
will definitely visit next time i'm in napier.

the food was exquisite. it's very hard finding indian food which is not 'doctored' to fit the kiwi pallet. indigo delivered a wide ranging menu which i for one had difficulty choosing from. my fresh fish curry reminded me of the one i'd enjoyed several years ago in bangalore. given my dilemma with the menu, i'll be back!

this was my first visit to indigo since it opened, i had heard lots of good things about it and though i would give it a visit. i went with my wife who is normally not a great fan of indian food. we started with the tandoori platter, the waiter had warned us that it was a lot of food and he was not wrong. we have never had anything like this at an indian restaurant before, all the meat was perfectly cooked and obviously fresh. i had the goat madras for my main and my wife had butter chicken, both where absolutely great even though we could not finish them all, the staff where kind enough to package the food that was left so we could take home. overall the service was excellent and the food was outstanding, we shall definitely be back very soon

something different. i was in double bay on saturday ,i really dislike double bay it is so pretentious.a friend invinted me to lunch at bar indigo .we sat down ordered food and coffee .the staff where reasonable pleasant the food was plain and tasteless.i really did not enjoy it .

the over eagerness of the waitress to clear the table of our plates ruined the whole meal. it seemed like she was trying to keep busy and it annoyed me that my friend had to stop telling her story and eat hurriedly just to keep up with the bored waitress' agenda.
the good food is not worth the experience. note to the cafe: train your service staff to display some courtesy.

i love this place! the coffee and food is always great and the service is also top class. my favourites include the breakfast bruschetta and the bircher muesli.

outstanding breakfast!. my friend and i ordered two of the breakfast specials and shared them both. they were both amazing. we left very happy with our meals, the quality was top notch as was the service. everything that we saw being delivered to the tables around us all looked fantastic, we will be returning.

dont go to indigo. you will be addicted and you will not be able to resist going back. the best indian food i have ever eaten. all meats are cooked to tender perfection. the nhari, butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, lamb madras have the perfect balance of spices. the creme de la creme on the menu is the peshwari naan...a must with any curry. there is no better combination. i must admit, i am finding it hard not to go to this fabulous restaurant at least once a week.

"double bay, double pay" says my friend reussy (and he lives around the corner so he knows). that was indeed the case at bar indigo, one of double bay's most popular cafes. i liked the mainly outdoor setting for the cafe and the huge portion sizes but for a fairly expensive breakfast the dishes didn't wow me. the fritters here ($19) are deep fried which seems a bit heavy for breakfast and the poached eggs which were teamed with flakes of salmon ($19.90) could have done with some added zing from dressing on the accompanying salad.

i went there for the second time last night with my wife. as before we were warmly greeted at the door and shown a large booth where we could take our time ordering from a good selection.

the dishes arrived in no time, with a smile and they were outstanding! unfortunately we were in a little bit of a rush, but otherwise would have stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere. 10/10 great to see this caliber of restaurant opening in napier....can't wait to go back!

overall, we were very impressed with "indigo". it had a great vibe and even more delicious food. if you are ordering something straight off the menu the prices are very reasonable, especially for the area. it is when you start adding sides that the price creeps up. i will have to wait until i can treat myself to an expensive breakfast again until i return but one thing is for certain, i will return!

i was in napier on business for a couple of days last week and had seen reviews about indigo so thought i would give it a try. i took a business friend who would not normally by a fan of indian food.
my first impression was that the restaurant was very unlike any indian restaurant i had been to before, the decor is very contemporary and the place is spacious. we sat at a booth which was ideal as we could discuss business in relative privacy and interference from other diners. the wine list was unbelievable for an indian restaurant with a large selection of good quality local wines. the menu had the things you would expect from an indian as well as some dishes i had never seen. the roti baboti starter was fabulous, probably the most delicious indian food i had ever tasted, i opted for the chicken madras as a main, again this was excellent, very flavorsome and made with fresh coconut.
the service was attentive and friendly
i would recommend indigo to all food lovers
