reallygoodindian food. a bit pricy - but well worth it. staffing is usually friendly and good. like all the places around there - there seems to be a high turn over. this is definitely more upscale in atmosphere and presentation than the other indian places in the bay. probably reflects the english owner -who has a great selection of single malts!

as a local i have breakfast and lunch here often and i've always been happy with the great food and service. they have a big selection andgoodquality food. the service is usually quite good, the only thing i'd fault them on is that it's a bit pricey but then again they do serve decent portions! would recommend eating here especially on a sunny day sitting outside!

wow, what a fantastic experience and not the usual curry house i am used to! great atmosphere and especially like the fact(i presume) they had created their own winelist without the price being over the top.
the food was fantastic. the samosas are made on site i was told and they were so fresh and tasty. and a great twist on the onion bhajis too. then, the main of lamb jhalfrezee was something i would recommend to anyone. so tender, so good. and the plates were warm!
the presentation of the food was also very creative which left a great impression. we were visiting from christchurch and the meal was sogoodwe went back for lunch the next day!

we were here for a work lunch (and it's my first time at double bay!). i ordered the beef tenderloin salad medium rare, the beef was cooked perfectly, but can be seasoned a little bit more. regardless, the salad was full of textures and flavours, dressing was on point and i was satisfied.

the special (ocean) of the day - octopus + chorizo with salads and crusty bread, looked really good; apparently they usedgoodchorizo and was overall a tasty dish.

i was told the reuben is one of the all-time favourites - will definitely try next time i am in the area.

staff was friendly and service was prompt, recommend!

what i love most about this place is that it’s dog friendly and the service is great. however the food is not asgoodas the service. i ordered the salmon cake which tasted great but the portion was so small and the salmon was mixed in with the cake so there was hardly any salmon... for $24 i expected more.

in conclusion, i won't recommend the place if you have other choices which i am sure you can find plenty in this area. the food isgoodbut the service is horrible. the whole time i was there i felt like i have to beg them to serve me. the minute i arrived i stood there waiting to have someone find me a table until i don't think they even noticed me so i walked to one of the waitresses to ask for the seat. ok maybe they were busy so i was happy to let that go. when i sat down, the waitress came to take an order. she was friendly enough with us. i thought ok everything should be better from here. but no. the whole time after the food arrived, the waitresses kept squeezing through a small gap to get to the table behind us and bumping all over my friends. i found that pretty rude as clearly there is another way to walk to the table behind us without having to interrupt our eating which i can tell you it was often enough to annoy us. the worst part is when the store manager lady came to set up the table in front of us and want the chairs from the table behind us, they lift the chairs over my friend head while we are eating. i swear the chair was so close to my friend head i felt like it could knock her. and yet no sorry word came out of either of the staffs. if they really need the chairs, why don't they just ask us to move out of a way and quickly move the chairs?? it is so simple. we really had it after that and quickly paid our bill and left. it was such a nice day and will be agoodopportunity to chill out and order some more things but i don't think i will ever step in this restaurant again.

came here on a saturday. didn’t know that we had to reserve but the staff were kind enough to accomodate us even thought we were quiet close to their closing time. hence just to save them the trouble we kept our orders quiet small.
for mains we had the lamb korma ; saag beef and bhuna lamb. each main course has either tandoori roti , garlic / butter naan and a side of rice.
friendly reminder : ask for individual servings of rice rather than having it together
the lamb korma was ordered as mild. it had a very nice consistency and the flavours of cashew and saffron was quiet rich and bold. the only negative that was constantly felt was the fact that there was a tinge of sweetness which i personally did not appreciate. the meet was tender and quiet well done. all in all an excellent choice.
the saag beef was comparatively a more consolidated dish and more drier than the other two that was ordered. the essence of spinach and garlic were strong and the meat as usual was excellent. this was ordered in medium spicy and was just about right.
bhuna lamb was much creamier than it’s counterparts and was my personal favourite out of the three. since this is my first experience with bhuna lamb i would morally not be in a high ground to comment on it and hence would just say that it was quietgoodand very much to my liking.
we did try the ginger beer and the japanese beer ( had a large title which i can’t remember) which was quiet refreshing as well.

food wasgoodbut nothing special. disappointing was looking forward to trying this place! $23 for avo and tomato bruschetta. was quite watery (they used those big cheaper tomatoes so didn’t have much flavour). had the shakskuka which was a special. was ok but only came with one tiny piece of toast. coffee was nice probably the best part.

this place never fails to deliver quality food , coffee & fresh juice .
one of my favourites hang outs in the eastern suburbs.
staff are friendly , can always get seated if not, it’s a quick turn over , reasonable pricing for quality food &goodvibes 👌🏼 parking is metered and usually pretty easy to find

it's always hard when you're visiting somewhere new and you're trying to decide where to eat. we walked past and thought it looked nice and so i cheekily asked some outside diners what the food was like and they said they'd been two nights in a row. we managed to get a table without a booking - it was a sunday night and they were still quite full. i ordered the lasooni prawns (battered and fried) and they were very light and tasty. for my main i had the chicken korma - very tasty though more gravy like than saucy. goodservice and we were checked on several times by wait staff.
