il grappolo

great food great location !. we live in the rozelle area and always support our local restaurants by going when we can. we were regulars at grapes which was there before il grappolo so we were keen to see how this new place was doing .
we went on a friday night although they only do byo tue -thursday but im happy to pay for drinks if the food is good .
when we got there we noticed the place was a bit bright as the lights were on full pelt which kind of lost the smoky setting that grapes had..the tables and chairs were also a little dated looking with no table covers however thestaffwere extra friendly and made us feel really welcome .
for our order we tried the linguine ai frutti di mare and the spaghetti gamberi with garlic bread which was really good ,the pasta tasted freshly made and the seafood cooked really well and complemented beautifully with the flavours . the prices were a little bit more pricey but again the food was worth it .
overall the food was excellent , things they could change a little are the décor ,lighting and no byo on the weekends. i think they have some tough shoes to fill in grapes but im sure they will do a good job judging by the standard of the food it was delish !!

standard italian fare but done very well with no fuss. great place for family dinners and always have good specials.staffare friendly and helpful, also they open early which helps.

i personally prefer wood-fired oven because it makes pizza more soft. but the ingredients and the taste are excellent. if you like crunchy pizza this is the perfect place for you.

this place is truly amazing when it comes to decor and ambience it's just beautiful with tea lights and little flowers on the tables. i went there with a group of friends and the service was good.staffwere friendly and attentive. we decided to just order pizzas and pasta. i would never order a pasta there again. it was either to bland or too salty like the ragu came from a can. i was so disappointed with the pasta. on the brighter side the pizzas were so good and i will be going back for them. i saw main dishes of fish and lamb i think and the presentation was spot on!! worth giving this place a try!!

this restaurant is fabulous we have been many times the food is always amazing great price child friendly and pet friendly outside the service is what you would expect from 5 star restaurants in big hotels we went last night for my birthday and once again enjoyed a fabulous meal and was surprised at the end of my meal with a special surprise ice cream dessert thanks to all thestaffand management for always making our evenings their so welcoming a special thank you to the chefs for such amazing tasting food as always we will always dine at this super italian restaurant
