il grappolo

great food great location !. we live in the rozelle area and always support our local restaurants by going when we can. we were regulars at grapes which was there before il grappolo so we were keen to see how this new place was doing .
we went on a friday night although they only do byo tue -thursday but im happy to pay for drinks if the food isgood.
when we got there we noticed the place was a bit bright as the lights were on full pelt which kind of lost the smoky setting that grapes had..the tables and chairs were also a little dated looking with no table covers however the staff were extra friendly and made us feel really welcome .
for our order we tried the linguine ai frutti di mare and the spaghetti gamberi with garlic bread which was reallygood,the pasta tasted freshly made and the seafood cooked really well and complemented beautifully with the flavours . the prices were a little bit more pricey but again the food was worth it .
overall the food was excellent , things they could change a little are the décor ,lighting and no byo on the weekends. i think they have some tough shoes to fill in grapes but im sure they will do agoodjob judging by the standard of the food it was delish !!

one of my favourite restaurants in the rozelle/balmain area! authentic italian in a cosy and friendly space, with beautiful service.

over the weekend, we enjoyed the special scallops that were perfectly cameralised and tasty. unfortunately, it was missing the pancetta that was listed on the menu but it was still delicious.

if you’re in the mood for pasta, don’t mess around and get the frutti di mare! it’s my absolute favourite with the seafood, garlic andgoodhit of chilli.. bellissimo!

local italian place with reallygoodravioli and pizza was made well with generous toppings. tiramisu was also a winner! would definitely come here again.goodheart meal on a rainy day and the service was really attentive.

good experience,goodfood recommendations and choices and will definitely come back for more, friendly and polite staff as well. (we ordered vegetarian options)

a restaurant we have had on our list for a while and we dropped in on their last day before christmas break. lovely staff, nice wine andgoodfood. plenty of fun had and a little gift as we left - see you guys again in the new year.

yes it is a hidden gem. one of the best ravioli i have ever eaten. great selection of wine and amazing pizzas. price you ask? well you paygoodprice forgoodfood and service. would love more red meat variety in their already extensive menu.

bellissimo. this really is the little italian restaurant that could. set in balmain shores, a somewhat sterile part of the inner west, il grappolo is a very authentic italian restaurant with great food and wine. between us we tried quite a few different dishes - pizza, gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts, seafood pasta, zucchini flowers stuffed with prawns, crabmeat and ricotta. all the food was verygoodquality with the zucchini flowers special particularly standing out. this is a classic italian restaurant catering to a mainly older well heeled crowd, and obviously has a strong local following.

came here for lunch on a sunday and was not disappointed.
rocket and pear salad - asgoodas a salad gets, fresh ingredients, well dressed with a nice balsamic.
spinach and ricotta ravioli - i'm no expert on ravioli but i thought the pasta sheets should be thinner, but a nice flavour to it, tastes handmade.
prawn pizza - the standout for me. generously topped with very fresh prawns, hard to fault this pizza. base was nice and crispy without being too thick or thin.
waitresses were very attentive and friendly.
will definitely be back.

this place is truly amazing when it comes to decor and ambience it's just beautiful with tea lights and little flowers on the tables. i went there with a group of friends and the service was good. staff were friendly and attentive. we decided to just order pizzas and pasta. i would never order a pasta there again. it was either to bland or too salty like the ragu came from a can. i was so disappointed with the pasta. on the brighter side the pizzas were sogoodand i will be going back for them. i saw main dishes of fish and lamb i think and the presentation was spot on!! worth giving this place a try!!

our new favourite. we go to this cute restaurant quite often. the food is always great no matter what you order. we usually order from the specials board but tried some pizzas and pastas and it was one of the best pizzas i've had in sydney. at the moment my favourite is the eye fillet or osso bucco. excellent in this cold weather.
they've also recently changed the wine list and the prices are very reasonable. the service is lovely too. it can get a bit noisy on friday and saturday night when they are full, but it adds to the atmosfere.
definitely recommend this place as it's agoodvalue for money.

terrific restaurant! went for dinner. it's on a quiet street. has a nice atmosphere. the food was delish and reasonably priced, i had the steak and it was huge.goodselection of wines and make agoodsangria. have sine been for breakfast and also agoodmenu, again well priced.. definitely recommend it!
