i love this place! kind staff, clean restaurant, and amazing food. i have tried the tacos and burritos and have never been disappointed. i haven't been back to big truck since i found a gem in hugo's...their menu isn't as large but the food is amazing at 1/3-1/2 the price.

real tacos!. it's nice to know that there is a real taco place on the north side of town. i used to travel to mexico quite a bit and so believe me when i say this is about as real as it gets. the place and the food is not fancy at all and unlike big truck with its rude, uppity staff and owners, it has no pretentions. hugo's is a simple place with nice people serving good, cheap food. i recommend the carne asada and the cochinita tacos. delish!

this is my family's favorite place for mexican food. we usually get the tacos, beans (steamed) and fluffy rice. i also love the quesadilla s. reasonable prices. good food. tortillas are great, warmed on grill with your choice of meats. the carrots, jalapeños and onions are an added treat.

strong breakfast burrito game here. nice to have the options of what you want to put on the burrito. the asada had great flavor, as did the pork.

*update, now i'm sure i won't go back, i was in a rush, got the 3 taco dinner and added a taco, it came with two small salsas, i asked for two more and she said it's an extra dollar for more salsas. wt# man? no one does that, she wasn't very nice either. i had added a dollar tip (should have told her to put that toward the salsa) and no "thank you" from her then or after bringing my food. shame on me for going again!**
it's close so i go there on occasion. it's really not the greatest. the food is ok, salsas are mediocre but not terrible. service is not that great.. i've had good tacos, but el rey on reno/may is my go to spot now. very nice staff, and much better food and salsas.

i only have the tacos, they are great! i usually get them called in so i can go by and pick up to skip the line. if you do this, be prepared to speak a little spanish

oklahoma city - we’re all adults here, so i’m going to be blunt: there is a dearth of latino-owned taquerias on the north side of oklahoma city and it sucks. off the top of my head, i can name taqueria rafita’s on pennsylvania avenue and northwest 12th street and…well, that’s really it. feel free to send me any suggestions, however.

no good.. this place isn't that great at all. if you want real comida mexicana, drive down to paco's on the south side. hugo's is gross, their meats sit in grease and taste like crap. this place is joke.

these guys are the best. the tacos are delicious in their beautiful simplicity and incredibly priced. you can get 3 tacos, rice and beans for around 5 beanie sigels. the employees are mostly sweet, beautiful, latina babies. and they have taco tuesdays. dollar tacos. one of my favorite spots in okc.

best mexican food in okc, hands down. absolutely the best mexican food in oklahoma city, hands down. actually, it's probably the best in the state.

abuelo's? bland, boring, flavorless meat.
ted's escondido? more of the same, but they've got name recognition. they suck too.
big truck tacos? they're a close second to hugo's, but their prices are too high and their toppings are just not as fresh.

great service!. the weight staff was excellent and they spoke english. i ordered 3 taco's with rice and beans but should have ordered something more exciting off the menu.

outstanding street tacos and the best rice we've found in okc. with a bottle of true mexican coca cola hugo's is a must try. menudo on weekends but menudo is something most anglos never try. give it a try it's an amazingly flavorful soup.

wife (from mexico) and i have been searching for some good, real mexican food.... best tacos i've had in okc, hand made tortillas and great tasting food, hands down best authentic mexican food we've had!

holy taco. i ordered one of every meat option, even the special with bacon. yes, for your pleasure i alone tried every meat taco that they had to offer....

holy cow, apparently my home state has done a great disservice to tacos as well as the whole culture, because this was amazing!!!!!!! you could taste each and every meat offering, on top of the toppings and salsas.
super friendly staff, which will absolutely bring me back over and over again.

please give this place a try, if you want traditional tacos. no frills. just taste.
