hopdoddy’s is a gourmet burger joint located in the heart of the very hip, and trendy soco austin area. it doesn’t matter what time or what day you decide to dine here, you can always expect a line outside wrapped around the building and you can always expect to wait a while. if you’re in the right mind set, and you’re a local, you won’t mind this at all. this is south austin. we wait in lines for hours for gourmet burgers, it’s just what we do. luckily you’re located in agreatpeople watching spot. if you’re there with friends, you may even partake in some browsing in the local shops that line the streets. don’t get too excited when you finally reach the door though, because all you have really reached is, wait for it…… the inside line! but breathe, now you get to stand in line against the fully stocked bar. yes, you can order and sip on one of the many local beers/spirits offered such as deep eddy vodka, tito’s, and 512 br

checked out this place with some friends, and i was curious because i heard somegreatstuff about the burgers being the best in austin. i don't normally eat burgers, however, they offered a veggie burger and i was down to try it. when we got there, the wait was 1 hour. if hubby & i had been alone, there's no way we would have waited an hour for burgers. but we were there with people.. so we waited. i was starving by the time we ordered, and once that happened we sat to wait another 20-30 minutes for the burgers. my veggie burger finally arrived, and i will say that it was pretty large. it tasted pretty good too, but not like the best veggie burger i ever had or ever will have. my hubby liked his beef burger, but not enough to return another time. waiting that long was just a serious turn off, and we aren't crazy about burgers. so yea, it's popular, and if you're really into burgers, this may be a perfect thrill for you.

hopdoddy has one of the best burgers i've eaten. the wait is always long anytime i've been, but it's worth it. i got the llano poblano with the poblanos on the side and it is always delicious. it'sgreatthat the burgers aren't too big and nor is the bread, it always seems like the perfect amount and the burger is flavorful. i also enjoy the fries, but i'm not the biggest fan of their cream soda, it's a little too sweet for me.

beer, heck just to have a frosted mug was fun,greatbeer too. can you say frosted mug?

yeah, it says burger bar, but the salads are great. do the salad route and add a burger.

great burger! just started the new year with the el diablo.greatheat, not for the faint of heart!greatparmesan truffle oil fries.

pleasant surprise. got a gift card and decided to try it out. unique ordering/seating was actually pretty good even on a busy saturday. the burgers and fries were really good. don't know why some say expensive. $7 forgreattaste and cooked rare, the way we like them, not well done like so many other austin places. we're sold!

it must be the hype. although the place has a very hip and attractive interior and the ordering/seating process is pretty cool, the food is so-so and very expensive. i've had much better burgers at whataburger. the fries are ok, the service isgreatbut it cost 35 dollars for 2 burgers fries and drinks and it was not very good. the burger was too salty.

lots of hype. not worth waiting in line to get in. you can get agreatburger by going across the parking lot to bartlett's.
