hopdoddy burger bar

i ordered from here today for a delivery order via postmates. i submitted my order with a burger cooked rare and a substitution of the hot sauce on the side with a side offries(which i thought would be more than 25 small fries). the burger was done well and it was smothered in hot sauce. i called the restaurant an explained to them the issue and how i had to have it delivered because i am at work and cannot pick it up. the manager gustavo could only tell me that he was sorry and that i can come pick up another one. i continued to tell him that i couldn't leave work and he didn't seem to care at all. terrible service, terrible food, terrible experience. i will never return. see photos attached of me "rare" burger and my heaping load of fries.

a solid 4!  line was incredibly long but major props to the staff for mitigating any problems.  handed out free samples, assigned tables to groups prior to seating and ordering.  friendly staff.  

place was absolutely slammed friday night.  servers were taking drink orders in the line.  my wife ordered a caramel milk shake.  very good, very sweet, maybe a bit too much salt though but no problem.  

my wife ordered the tuna burger.  the fried nori chips give it a good crunchy texture.  horseradish mayo is good, but the tuna itself was under seasoned.  i ordered the primetime.  brie cheese and added mushrooms.  fantastic.

cheese dip on thefrieswas okay, nothing spectacular.  fries themselves slightly disappointing.

i stopped here during a weekend visit to austin. the place has an interesting order set up that creates a long line that goes all the way outside. we placed a to go order so we got to wait inside in the ac. the burger was good, i liked the signature sauce. thefrieswere good too but they could've had used a little more salt. since i hate lines, i don't know if i'll ever go and eat in though.

a new favorite!. about a 30 min wait but definitely worth it! exceptional staff made the wait easier, offering water, samples, recommendations, and even umbrellas to keep us shaded. i had the goodnight burger which was amazing and my husband had the llano poblano with hatch chillies. he loved his too! we splitfrieswith green chile queso which we loved as much as the burgers! everything about our trip from to food, to the staff, to the atmosphere was enjoyable.

very good gourmet burgers. the goodnight was fantastic. i did not specify how to cook the burger and it was slightly red in middle not pink. the truffle and parmesanfriesare very good, a bit on the salty side. we will be back!

pleasant surprise. got a gift card and decided to try it out. unique ordering/seating was actually pretty good even on a busy saturday. the burgers andfrieswere really good. don't know why some say expensive. $7 for great taste and cooked rare, the way we like them, not well done like so many other austin places. we're sold!

the veggie burger was incredible, second only to the potatefriesand chili con queso. the staff were beyond kind, even going so far as recovering a large bill i unknowingly dropped, returning it promptly a day later when i discovered it missing. whew! the honesty and integrity of this establishment is alive and well; thank you.

yum!. to start, you have to wait in line...don't let this deter you-it actually moves along fairly quickly, and the food comes out really fast once you're seated. the burgers are really good...i got the el diablo (substituted a black bean patty for the beef), and it was nice and spicy since it was topped with habaneros and serrano peppers. definitely spicy, but not over-poweringly so.
my meat-eating friend had the bison burger (can't recall what it's called), and he really liked it, and considered getting a second one.

they list where all the meat, produce and cheeses are sourced from (most are local or from texas at least), which was a nice touch. thefrieswere also really good! we split an order of thefrieswith the green chile queso...yum! the restaurant was pretty much brand new when we ate there, and the building is really nice, with a large patio, bar area, and lots of seating inside. service was also good and they have a good selection of local beers.

just as good as the congress location. the process seems a bit better here actually. i've tried many of their burgers and none of them have ever let me down. thefries- also great. don't be intimidated by the line - it moves quickly.

it must be the hype. although the place has a very hip and attractive interior and the ordering/seating process is pretty cool, the food is so-so and very expensive. i've had much better burgers at whataburger. thefriesare ok, the service is great but it cost 35 dollars for 2 burgersfriesand drinks and it was not very good. the burger was too salty.

great food, nice place, but very busy. the turkey burger was great,frieswith fresh basil(i'm guessing that's what it was) were good. downside is that they are already to busy/popular.
