i love this place! it proves the goldilocks effect to be all too true. not too much of anything, and a little bit of everything you could ask for. hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, beer, wine, cocktails, vegetarian menu, fries, salad, coleslaw, chilli, and happy hour every day from 5-7. all topped off with a full bar, and some of the most hideously attractive paper mâché decor i've ever seen. stop reading this and get somehole!!!!!

holy honeyholesandwiches. i love this place so much. they aren't putting on airs about being farm to table, making their own bacon, or any other frills. they just make incredible sandwiches. i'm not one for ranch dressing, but friends tell me that chachi's favorite is the way to go. i love the bandit when i'm looking for a saucy, bbq meaty sandwich. however, their veggie sandwiches are my favorite. the juke is just as good as any meaty sandwich out there. fake chicken, bbq sauce, banana peppers and cheddar. order yours with fries. it will remind you of the diner fries you had as a kid.

as per our annual spring break tradition, we made the trek down to seattle for some shopping, eating and picking up stuff from gps.  gps  yes, goose's parcel service.  come again  you see, goose lives in bellevue and he has been nice enough all these years to be the receiver of various items that i've purchased on the internet.  this time around, even before setting foot into one store, we had over $2800.00 worth of goods to be picked up.  yes, he does have house and contents insurance...  before anything else, our first thing to do was eat lunch upon our arrival.  the place - honeyholesandwiches. we started the kids off on the club tasty consisting of thick-sliced bacon, zoe's black forest ham, in- house roasted turkey, sharp cheddar, lettuce and tomato on a demi baguette.  this was a neatly constructed sammie with quality ingredients.  nothing complex about it, but well made nonetheless.  we found the bread to be a bit on the chewier side which made everything slide out with each b

horrid service! wasted my whole lunch break waiting for them to make a cold sandwich!. been eating here for years and tolerated the "i hate my life" attitude that haunts their employees because the sandwiches are good. since i landed a job near by, i have been eating honeyholefor about once a week. i've always been patient always bus my own table when i'm done and i tip when i eat in. then today i order my usual minus the fries because i'm in a hurry. my usual is a club tasty. it's a cold sandwhich and usually takes about 5 minutes to whip up. but for some reason today they just decided to fix up everyone else's sandwiches but mine. i had walked in and there was one guy in front of me. that guy asked if they were hiring and didn't order. so i order, then two people behind me order. then 20 minutes later the place empties, the two ppl behind me have gotten their sandwhiches, and i'm sitting there wondering what the ef? so another 10 minutes pass and now i don't even have time to eat my lunch. i walk up to the counter and say, "hey i've been waiting for 30 minutes for my sandwich, i just want my money back!" the guy goes, "oh we're just finishing it up, here it is". i then explain to him, "dude, i have 30 minutes for lunch and it took you guys 30 minutes to make a cold sandwhich... i don't even have time to eat it. just gimme my money back."

i wish i lived in seattle. if i did, i would go here as often as i could. i would go out of my way, detour to first hill just to go to this littleholein the wall that serves the best sandwichs ever. and the soup is always first rate. believe me when i say this place is worth the walk up pike street from downtown to get to. did i also say they have a full bar with manny's on tap. and daily beer special too. from now on, whenever i come into town, the honeyholewill be my first stop. you should go, now!

seriously, this was (note the past tense) the sandwich shop in seattle. however things have changed within the last 6 months. let's start with the obvious and most important aspect of any good sandwich - the bread it's served on. this critical piece of any sandwich can make or break the meal. honeyholeused to offer multiple varieties of bread depending on the sandwich ordered. all breads matched their counterpart perfectly. apparently this old way of doing business needed to be changed. now everything is served on a plain baguette for better or worse. let me tell you, its usually for the worse. yes a couple of sandwich do transition well to a plain baguette. however the majority do not. the quality of the baguette just isn't that good. i would assume the switch was made to lower their overhead and save a few $$$. however that wasn't the only change honeyholehas made. let me itemize them for you:

the popular $2.50 fries and drink option - gone.
the world class fries - changed.
best bread in seattle - changed.
menu prices - increased.

wtf are they thinking over there? the service has always been slow here but i never complained because the sandwiches were always worth the wait. well they're not worth it anymore.

on a side note, i posted a comment about my dissatisfaction of my last visit here to their facebook page. do you know what they did? they unfriended me and deleted my post. that's how they spell customer service. unbelievable. it must be nice to pick and choose your customers like that. well here is what i have to say about that f*** this place. avoid. avoid. avoid.

i changed my vote from an "i like it" to "dislike". i won't be going back.

if it ain't broke, don't fix it!. i just removed honeyholefrom my favorites, and made it a 'don't like'. ya know why? i made a special trip to capitol hill to pick up sandwiches from honey hole. i ordered (what was) my favorite, the corleone. i ate a few fries on the way home. the french fries were dry and overcooked and tasted remarkably like potato chips! "hmm...i wonder what's wrong", i thought to myself. so, i get home and unwrap the corleone. "wtf is this?!?", i said loudly. the corleone, which used to be on rye bread was now on a toasted baguette. but, it didn't end there. there was barely any sauerkraut or mustard on it, and the melted cheese was literally fused to the bun! i took a bite and the pastrami tasted like super smoky beef jerky rolled in copious amounts of cracked black pepper! i kept getting mouthfuls of black pepper! there were slices and big chunks of the pastrami on my sandwich, too. it was really strange. it tasted nothing like the corleone did before. my fiance ordered his favorite, 'the chachi's favorite' and his didn't taste the same either. so, i hop on the computer to investigate and find out what's going on. turns out, they've recently made some revisions to their menu. i really wish i'd known this before ordering! not to mention, the fact that they raised the prices of their sandwiches and you can no longer add fries and a drink for $2.50. what used to cost under $20 for two sandwiches, two drinks, and two fries cost almost $26.00! on that note, i'm going to take my business elsewhere next time. can anyone recommend a good sandwich joint?

slightly perplexed..... i went to honeyholelast night for the first time and overall it was a good experience. i had the buford t. justice sandwich. there are a couple of things that confused me about the meal though. the menu description says that the sandwich has "sweet and tangy bbq sauce" on it. the sandwich was moist enough and tasted good but i could discern no sweetness or tangyness from the bbq sauce. also, the menu says the sandwich has pepper jack cheese on it but i could not detect any cheese (i looked under the bun and i i didn't see any cheese and could detect no heat from the peppers in said "cheese".) the fries, as other reviewers have said, are very good. the service was excellent also. i will go back to honeyholebut i would not eat this sandwich again.

mixed impression. first visit to honeyholeleft us with a mixed impression. loved the decorum. loved the staff and quality of service. music was so loud it hurt and one of two meals was abysmal. the french dip (daily special) wasn't piled high like the menu board promised and could have been beaten on flavor and texture by a 7eleven 20-hr hot dog. the four pieces of tough, gray meat was dwarfed between a very large sub roll with a layer of hard cheese that had baked and dried into the bread. this crushing disappointment sat beside a generous portion of greasy, bitter french fries. old oil maybe? i moved the meat to one half of the sandwich and ate half of that because it was just that bad. i'm normally a french fry whore when i let myself have them but these were so rank that there was no will power required to keep me from eating more than 3. cb loved his vegan sub and scarfed it down like only a boy with a hangover can do after suffering through classes all day on an empty stomach. i won't go rushing back any time soon although i know i need to so they'll get a fair shake. bad first impressions are hard to overcome.
