heff's burgers

worst burger experience ever. my husband and i have tried heff's on rebecca on a couple of occasions. each time the burgers were burnt and very small compared to the bun and gooped with mayo (which we both asked for none of) and thefriesand spiral chip things were very cold and tasted like old grease. if this had happened once i could probably overlook it and try again but we did that and the second experience was worse. both times the employees were very rude and were more interested in their cell phones and chatting amongst one another to help us or clean off a table. we ended up cleaning off our own table (the only table clean enough to eat on had mustard all over it and we had to request a rag--which was nasty--from one of the extra rude employees to clean it ourselves) and the floor was completely littered with chunks of food and paper towels and other things from previous customers. it is a place we will definitely never go again.

heffs has added two new menu items in a mushroom swiss burger with grilled onions and grilled mushrooms and we also have a hamburger steak with a hamburger patty topped with brown gravy grilled onions and mushrooms with a salad and your choice offriesy'all come try our new menu items

lucy's is too expensive and overpriced and you get more value for your money at heffs i recommend heffs over lucys

rover. im the rover at heffs burgers and let me tell you working there is awesome the best burgers in town and im not just saying that because i work there i used to eat there when it was in potosi and they still got they same good ole burgers that they did just a bigger location come and try a burger i gurantee you will like it

this is my standard order. i prefer pepper jack cheese, and to ask for it to be cooked to medium.

i was on my lunch break and was craving an old fashioned burger. i stopped here at heff's thinking i'd give this little greasy spoon a shot. apparently so did everyone else because the place was packed. it took about 5 minutes in line, and 20 more to get my burger. i'm a patient fellow so the wait wasn't a problem for me. when i got the burger it was huge! the twistyfrieswere an excellent side. everything tasted great.

cheese burger with no cheese?!. i went into heff's today areound 1 they were not vusy at all yet stilll messed up my order. i ordered a cheese burger with pickles , mustered and cheese only. i got a burger with no cheese pickles and onions!!! i tried to call them but only got voicemail and no one would call me back. that was $8 down the drain, i will not be returning there, and thefrieswere burnt. dont eat there unless you want the wrong order, i can only imagen how bad they would mess it up if they were busy!!!

i figured i'd treat my husband to a decent meal. heff's delivered far better than i expected. i had the mushroom swiss burger on rye, withfriesand a drink. i could actually taste the beef! plenty of mushrooms and swiss cheese were the icing on the cake. thefrieswere obviously freshly cut, and still had the skin on. even when i was feeling full, everything was so good that i did not want to stop eating. my husband was just as satisfied with hisfriesand double burger, and he finished all of it.

i had a pretty good burger but it was a bit of a longer wait than i thought necessary. must say, i really liked the bun that my burger came on and thefrieswere good.

delicious!. i've come here a handful of times now and really enjoy it. the burgers here are delicious and juicy i usually get the plain bun with everything on it tomatoes, lettuce, mustard , mayo can't recall if they have onions i know a few times their wasn't any. even though i get the plain bun the jalapeno bun is better, i like the homefrieshere but always order the what they call twisterfriesi don't care if its really chips orfriesor what they are good. my only complaint would be twice when ordering to go they gotten the whole order wrong and it sucks when your husband eats his burger plain and he gets it with mustard and tomatoes which he can't eat.
also may i suggest making a burger with cheese in the middle of the meat like a juicy lucy's i don't know why nobody has done this here with all the burger joints caring the jalapeno bun someone needs to create something that sets them apart.
the atmosphere here is like a 50's jukebox theme i wish they would do a better job of cleaning the tables i feel like the tables are always sticky and dirty. the carpet probably need to be replaced and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint.

burgers are great!! i agree thefriesr a little too greasy. it's not a comfortable dining environment due to very small and a lot of traffic in and out for carry out. would definitely eat the food again, just pick up next time.

the burger was fantastic, and i really enjoyed the jalepeno bun. thefrieswere rather greasy and not very good.

very tasty. the burgers are very good, and the home made buns are very nice. it makes for a very good burger over all, and definately the best that i've had so far in abilene. the spiral cutfriesare similar to a dish i do at home as well, and definately something different and unique amongst local eateries.

the fried pies are also home made and very nice as well, with several varieties to choose from.

i enjoyed my meal here a great deal and will definately be returning.

good burger. ate at heff's for the first time and it was pretty good. i also got the twistedfries(potato chips) that were good also. will be going back there for certain.

best hamburger buns by far, burger top 2. this place is all-around great. burgers are delicious, twisterfriesare unique, jalapeno buns best i've ever had and people are friendly. also has very good prices. i rank this along side larry's for the best burger in abilene.

lighten up ?. joseph you have a good point that people need to lighten up some when a minor mistake occurs.. but when someone asks for a clean restaurant (especially while employees are sitting around on break) there is no reason to knock them. it sounds like there needs to be some training and 1 person scheduled for dining room duty. food is still great and i'm still a fan.

twisterfries!!. i like the burgers but i love the twister fries. it's very good and very busy so be patient. i do agree with the earlier review that it is very weird when they close randomly and lock doors. it smells like hamburgers and you will too when you leave but i'm willing to make that sacrifice. i wanted to edit this and add that the twisterfriesare much much better for dine in. when you get them to go they tend to get soft in the to go box. still think the hours are weird and wish they stayed open till 9 like all of the competition and were open on sundays.

huge burgers!. big burgers for reasonable prices. not a big fan of the ribbonfries- but burgers were great!
