loved the vibe here and was slightly reminiscent of grounds of alexandria. the space is large and airy, plenty of indoor space as well as outdoor overlooking a large enclosed garden perfect for kids to roam around in whilst still being able to watch over them. the menu has plenty of food and drink options for everybody. had theducksalad which was a generous portion full of flavor, the tea smoked chicken was an equally good choice with the tea smoked flavor really shining through. would definitly come back. perfect for large groups.

i booked a table for a relaxing pre-birthday lunch. we had a lovely time as did the kids - who roamed free around the grounds for most of the time. ordering at the counter works really well for groups and adds an extra level of relaxation.

the kids menu was great and imaginative - although most defaulted to fish and chips this came in a special lunch box with a nudie juice and apple.

the cocktail jugs are definite winners as we move into summer. i had many contented friends and i thoroughly enjoyed my lamb rogan josh roti stack. i think the salmon taco's are next on my hit list.

dessert was next level - will definitely be back for the pavlova!

minor complaints - not enoughduckin theducksalad, dirty water cups, a little difficult to get through on the phone to book/vary booking details.

i think this will become a local favourite ☀️😋👌

we visited the cafe last monday for lunch. lovely location & decor. unfortunately, both our meals were less than enjoyable & over priced. my partners burger patty was thick & stodgy & his chips were served in a dirty reused basket with a piece of paper under the chips. the sauce bottle had a soggy piece of cling wrap around the nozzle which was less than acceptable. myducksalad was overly full of bitter lettuce with tiny chopped pieces ofduckwhich i had to search for under the masses of lettuce. the dressing was underwhelming & didnt enhance the salad nor did the pear slices soaked jn lemon juice. there were some hazelnuts added also. an expensive dish which didnt satisfy.
we didnt complain as this would have further spoilt our meal. we simply left & wont return.

in the whimsical garden themed atmosphere, beholds hazelhurst cafe where i indulged a deliciousducksalad filled with an array of fruits and vegetables, plus delicious hazelnuts. being foreign of theduckflavour, i was both surprised and drawn back. it's was flavoursome but rather dry and a little on the crunch side. my acquaintance ordered the ploughsman roll which consisted of an overflow of pickle flavour and a chunky piece of beetroot...just one piece. nether the less, the rest of the roll can't be critiqued and the service was great!

we had lunch at the cafe today. we both wanted theducksalad but unfortunately they had run out of it. i got a coleslaw and prawn salad. it was dry and so tasteless and the prawns were cut in half. my husband had salmon tacos. the taco shells were so chewy he gave up trying to eat them and ate the salad. both meals were very poor value for money.

this cafe is light & airy and offers something for everyone. from brunch dates amongst friends or couples; also great for kids to roam & have a picnic in the grounds with their takeaway menu; older people lunching & wining leisurely; business people having breakfast meetings or functions. the food is tasty, modern & beautifully presented, fittingly so given that it is by the art gallery. lunch menu is a fusion of cultures with their version of vietnamese pork roll being made on wholemeal bread stuffed with delicious pulled pork, pate & crispy veg. other standouts are their signatureducksalad & naked sushi. there are plenty to drink in the way of wines & cocktail jugs & plenty of cakes & scones for morning or afternoon tea. service is friendly but can be a little slow, but you never seem to be in a rush at this place anyway & can easily linger from lunch to afternoon tea.

hazelhurst cafe is located inside the hazelhurst art gallery and you wouldn't know it was there unless you were told. its a young hip and vibrant cafe that appeals to all ages. rustic style furniture and decor with modern style art decals on the walls.
food is great. never had a bad meal there however can be expensive for light lunch.
had theducksalad and souvlaki plate. both were pretty tasty.
