another hakka please!. i never understood why it was so difficult to get a table at hakkasan, that is until i experienced the restaurant myself. immediately you sense a vibrant and energetic vibe, trendy, upscale, lively and stylish are the words that first come to mind as you enter. we were greeted and seated by a beautiful hostess with a bright smile.
dark wood furnishings and intricate paneling adorn the dark dining area were booths and tables are available. a great bar area to the side was full of very attractive patrons that looked like they were having the time of they’re lives.
our server, suggested for us to start with one of the signature drinks, the hakka( grey goose vodka, ty-ku sake, coconut, lychee juice and passion fruit) absolutely delicious, but be careful, it sneaks up on you!
we were so excited to finally visit the restaurant that we decided to let the chef choose for us, here are some of the dishes he so kindly shared with us:
-dim sum platter
-crispy duck salad (the best salad i’ve ever had)
-crab and sweet corn soup
-pan-fried eggplant with dried shrimp and soy sauce (this dish was a complete surprise and my favorite of the evening)
-black pepper beef tenderloin
-wok fried yellow tail red snapper in king soya
-warm chocolate fondant for dessert
the service, the ambiance and the food exceeded my expectations that evening. if you think it’s a bit pricey, you might want to consider the dim sum prix fixemenufor $28 per guest or the yum cha prix fixemenufor $45 per guest.
i loved this restaurant so much that i returned for the dim sum brunch. don’t miss out on the hakkasan experience, you’ll love it!

we came for dim sum and it was very good. there were 4 of us and they offer an option for a prefixmenuwith an assortment of steamed, fried, main dish, and noodle dish to share for 2. we ordered that plus a few additional items. the fried beef puffs were amazing, fro gras dumpling was ok, duck rolls are a must, barbaque platter was very good, char sui pork is very good but small portion, duck pi pa is tasty similar to peking with out the pancakes. this is not your traditional dimsum per say. they are higher priced smaller portions but still very tasty. each item seems to have extra care and time out in rather than ordinary dimsum items. the atmosphere is also very appealing. we will definitely be back looking forward to trying dinner.

i must admit it. i love hakassan. so when there’s a deal as well — as in miami spice — it’s time for yet another visit ($39 per person plus tax and service). as you know from reading prior posts on miami spice, some leading restaurants “just do” the promotion, not showcasing their best — like a top steakhouse that just has a cheap cut of meat on the spice menu, or a leading italian restaurant offering a pedestrian pasta and chicken dish as the entrees. not so with hakkasan. theirs is a five coursemenuwith 9 different dishes that reflect the exciting spicy, savory and sweet flavors and varied textures that is their stock in trade. but wait, let’s first talk about the decor for those of you who haven’t been there. the decor is described as “haute chinois”  with  seating areas of  romantic, welcome small spaces. and now for the food. after an appetizer of a green salad with pickled onion in plum dressing that i could eat every day, came the “small eats” — hon

good food, even better drinks, but pricey. went with friends to hakkasan during miami spice. on a friday night we could only get a reservation at 7:00. it did become more crowded as the evening went on. interior is nice but if they would have cut the incense, i would have enjoyed it more. despite an initial aromatic turnoff, i did like the styling of the place. started with a round of drinks- the zesty martini, green destiny, strawberry basil martini- all were very tasty and fresh. for dinner, we decided to add to the miami spicemenuoptions (as we were told it was a tastingmenuonly) and added two appetizers- the wild mushroom lettuce wraps and the dim sum platter. both appetizers were very flavorful and good. we liked it all but the standouts from the miami spice dinnermenuwere: the honey grilled barbecue pork, the spicy and crispy shrimp dumpling, and the crispy chicken with osmanthus lemon sauce. my favorite of the night however was the dessert- the white chocolate panna cotta with the raspberry sorbet. it was one of the best desserts i have tried in a long time. i sampled the mango dessert but in my opinion the panna cotta is the way to go. i did enjoy the manner in which the food is served- slowly and one or two dishes at a time so each dish can be enjoyed without feeling rushed on to the next course. the one negative was being charged $3 more for a drink than listed on the menu. $3 is not a huge deal but it is still $3- and given drink prices here are high enough as it is...overall the food here is good, and cocktails and desserts were really good. i feel the pricing is a little high (a $7 macchiato??? -but again- everything in miami beach costs more than it should). it is worth trying.

yes, will be back. great intimate atmosphere and excellent service! ate for miami spice august 2012menuand was not disappointed. must be expecting a large bill because you're at the fountainebleau. validated parking is still $12.
my dinner party is still raving about the sea bass entree featured on miami spice menu; it was buttery tender and perfectly, lightly battered = amazing. both desserts were to die for. well poured beverages from the bar.

typical steakhouse. the food and service were excellent although i felt the prices were a bit high. themenuis standard higher-end steakhouse, there weren't any real surprises or any twists which would make the restaurant a "don't miss" type of place.

date night type of place. i went to hakkasan while staying at the fountainbleau with a couple of co-workers for a conference. when we walked into hakkasan we felt very out of place, everwhere we looked were couples but we decided to stay and i'm glad that we did.

the service was excellent although our server wasn't too keen on making recommendations. she also neglected to mention that the food was family style until two of us ordered the same thing.

to sum it up the food was great, the atmosphere was good, the service was good and the prices were a bit on the high side but i suppose a good value.
