we have arrived in miami and after a long flight and a few drinks by the beach, it was time for dinner. for dinner, our choice was hakkasan. to be honest, i've been to hakkasun in the uk, but it was nothing like what i experienced in miami, thefoodis full of flavour, i just cannot explain the taste. the whole ambience of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has a floral scent as soon as you walk in. for starters, we had crispy prawn with mango, which left a fruity juicy taste in my mouth, with a crispy finish.these prawns were more savoury and a had a satay finish, i was not really a fan of these because i prefer more sweet or sour taste.

and my favourite dish of the night had to be the dim sum platter- 8 little pockets of flavour;

2x scallop shumai
2x har gar
2x black crystal rice vegetables
2x crab meat.

equally, all the dim sum pieces were nice but my favourite had to be the dim sum topped with caviar style beads.

for my main, it was between the bahamian lobster or the black pepper tenderloin but eventually gave in and went for the beef, choosing egg fried rice to accompany the beef. i had my beef cooked medium to rare as i like my meat a bit tender and juicy, the beef was very spicy but that is just how i like it! everything was washed down with several glasses of house red wine, which really hit the spot!

one thing i always appreciate bout americans is the customer service and we really gave the best of the best in terms of customer service and would definitely recommend going to hakkasan for dinner. the lightening is dimmed and is a perfect place to go for a date.

another hakka please!. i never understood why it was so difficult to get a table at hakkasan, that is until i experienced the restaurant myself. immediately you sense a vibrant and energetic vibe, trendy, upscale, lively and stylish are the words that first come to mind as you enter. we were greeted and seated by a beautiful hostess with a bright smile.
dark wood furnishings and intricate paneling adorn the dark dining area were booths and tables are available. a great bar area to the side was full of very attractive patrons that looked like they were having the time of they’re lives.
our server, suggested for us to start with one of the signature drinks, the hakka( grey goose vodka, ty-ku sake, coconut, lychee juice and passion fruit) absolutely delicious, but be careful, it sneaks up on you!
we were so excited to finally visit the restaurant that we decided to let the chef choose for us, here are some of the dishes he so kindly shared with us:
-dim sum platter
-crispy duck salad (the best salad i’ve ever had)
-crab and sweet corn soup
-pan-fried eggplant with dried shrimp and soy sauce (this dish was a complete surprise and my favorite of the evening)
-black pepper beef tenderloin
-wok fried yellow tail red snapper in king soya
-warm chocolate fondant for dessert
the service, the ambiance and thefoodexceeded my expectations that evening. if you think it’s a bit pricey, you might want to consider the dim sum prix fixe menu for $28 per guest or the yum cha prix fixe menu for $45 per guest.
i loved this restaurant so much that i returned for the dim sum brunch. don’t miss out on the hakkasan experience, you’ll love it!

love, love, love. there isn't anything negative to say about hakkasan. thefoodand service are outstanding. my favorites are the duck and the hot and sour soup.

the only negative about coming here is the parking valet - i have never left without some kind of damage to my vehicle!

good food, even better drinks, but pricey. went with friends to hakkasan during miami spice. on a friday night we could only get a reservation at 7:00. it did become more crowded as the evening went on. interior is nice but if they would have cut the incense, i would have enjoyed it more. despite an initial aromatic turnoff, i did like the styling of the place. started with a round of drinks- the zesty martini, green destiny, strawberry basil martini- all were very tasty and fresh. for dinner, we decided to add to the miami spice menu options (as we were told it was a tasting menu only) and added two appetizers- the wild mushroom lettuce wraps and the dim sum platter. both appetizers were very flavorful and good. we liked it all but the standouts from the miami spice dinner menu were: the honey grilled barbecue pork, the spicy and crispy shrimp dumpling, and the crispy chicken with osmanthus lemon sauce. my favorite of the night however was the dessert- the white chocolate panna cotta with the raspberry sorbet. it was one of the best desserts i have tried in a long time. i sampled the mango dessert but in my opinion the panna cotta is the way to go. i did enjoy the manner in which thefoodis served- slowly and one or two dishes at a time so each dish can be enjoyed without feeling rushed on to the next course. the one negative was being charged $3 more for a drink than listed on the menu. $3 is not a huge deal but it is still $3- and given drink prices here are high enough as it is...overall thefoodhere is good, and cocktails and desserts were really good. i feel the pricing is a little high (a $7 macchiato??? -but again- everything in miami beach costs more than it should). it is worth trying.

beautiful. atmosphere &foodare top notch, exactly what you would expect for a place as fancy as the fountainbleu. my favorite dish was the crispy duck salad, just for the uniqueness, but you can't go wrong with the seafood either.

deliciousfoodin a hip andluxurious setting, hakkasan didn't disappoint. while it is pricey, you have to expect it, after all you're in the beautiful fontainebleau. our overall bill was $275 which isn't bad considering we had 2 appetizers, 4
entrees, a bottle of wine and 18% gratuity was already included. when we made the reservation we mentioned it was my birthday and an the end of our meal they gave us a delicious dessert with happy brithday written on the plate for free. overall a
great experience and we will go back.

hakkasan in miami. superb place, excellent service, high price, and bad food.

hakkasan is gorgeous, but thefoodis greatly disappointed!

i heard of that an article about hakkasan was published in a local chinese newspaper, and this article recommended peking duck. according to the united chinese news of florida, peking duck is one of hot sellers in hakkasan with over 1,000 orders in one month. how could i miss this good opportunity to taste the chinese famous cuisine. we ordered peking duck($198), duck salad($25), lamb($48), and singapore vermicelli($18). thefoodare egregiously overpriced! however, thefooddisappointed us. singapore vermicelli was burnt. lamb was raw. duck salad did not come with enough sauce. peking duck was the worst! it was totally different from the authentic peking duck in beijing. they were not worth paying such high prices. i can get the better peking duck elsewhere for much less. and our waitress told us they sold seven to eight orders of peking duck each day. omg! the article was so exaggerated!! over 1,000 order a month? a fisherman's tale!

still jonesing for the xiao long bao (dumplings with soup inside). while thefoodis not as exciting as tropical, the ambiance can't be beat. teal cushions, waterfall gobos, heavy lacquer ornate wood dividers. my only complaint is that the staff have not been trained on the menu.

typical steakhouse. thefoodand service were excellent although i felt the prices were a bit high. the menu is standard higher-end steakhouse, there weren't any real surprises or any twists which would make the restaurant a "don't miss" type of place.

-----24 feb, 2010-----

date night type of place. i went to hakkasan while staying at the fountainbleau with a couple of co-workers for a conference. when we walked into hakkasan we felt very out of place, everwhere we looked were couples but we decided to stay and i'm glad that we did.

the service was excellent although our server wasn't too keen on making recommendations. she also neglected to mention that thefoodwas family style until two of us ordered the same thing.

to sum it up thefoodwas great, the atmosphere was good, the service was good and the prices were a bit on the high side but i suppose a good value.

horrible tourist trap. i've had better steaks and service at outback! the rib eye was flavorless and hard (even though it was medium) we were a group of 10 and our waiter was nowhere to be seen. my friend's side dish came after he was done with his entrée. when a restaurant automatically charges 18% gratuity, $55.00 dollars for a $10.00 bottle of wine and $315.00 for a $28.00 bacardi 8 you would expect much more. oh after we complained about the service andfoodthe assistant to the assistant manager offered to remove the gratuity and gave us his card (he said he'll take care of us next time ha ha) along with a box of cookies... ha ha. i would never go back to this place again!

not your average chinese in america. very pricey but sooo good. this is a great place for a special occasion. the decor is so sexy and different and thefoodis delicious. i tried to go a little out of my comfort zone ordering jellyfish as an appetizer and ostrich as main course, and it totally paid off. the ostrich was so tender and one of the best things i've ever had!
