honestly i’m not really into turkish sweets, but hafiz mustafa is the only place i visit in istanbul when i crave cheesy kunefe! it’s like basma in lebanon and i really appreciate how crunchy it is? their trilece cake topped with framboise is also a must try! i always visit theirtaksimand usküdar branches.

they are spread all over the city but their prominent store/ café ontaksimsquare packs in hundreds of passionate clientele biting down on those delectable lokums (a soft chewy sweet available in multiple flavors, honey and pistachio being the best), various kinds of ultra-sweet baklavas and their multiple mousses and creams. this is a place where one can’t have enough sugar, their baklavas are crunchy outside and chewy on the inside filled with nuts, packed with flavors.
their mousses come in large bowls varying from chocolate to fruit, orange, caramel and nuts, you tell yourself to stop after a couple of spoonfuls out of sheer guilt but by the time you realize, you are down with at least 3-4 bowls of these seductive creams between just two people. the overriding guilt then makes you gulp down cups of hot teas and believe me my friend; this story repeats itself every evening while you are there. hafiz mustafa is highly addictive, enter with extreme caution.

you can’t pass bytaksimwithout trying the baklava and kunafi of hafiz mustafa. very tasty and fresh ( taza). the only weakness i noticed in the place is the extremely overcrowded point of sale of hafiz halkoum products, the staff selling there were not friendly at all.

18.08.2019 have you ever tried a "chicken" dessert. prior to my holiday someone mentioned i must give it a try, so while on my travels and ticking off certain food must haves in istanbul, i finally gave it a try. i asked for the baked version. sadly it came cold. realised that even if you ask for the baked version of a dessert, it's still served cold. nonetheless it was soft and marshmallowy in consistency. initially you dont taste the shredded chicken but as you taste piece by piece and you look closely you can actually see the tiny shredded pieces of white meat. it's a rich dessert so i cousltn finish the portion size but definitely interesting in taste.

i had my favourite apple tea, and my sister had the chocolate baklava which was delicious. perfectly crispy with all the individual layers showing absolute uniformity and full of flavour. this place is like the quern of desserts. the amount of people constantly coming in and ordering dessert or various types of baklava, turkish delights and nougat is astounding. not to mention they have 2 stores almost 2 shops apart intaksimsquare, that's besides the many other branches they have in istanbul. it's mind blowing the amount of indulgent treats this shop pushes out every minute.

taste-10/10
ambience-10/10
service-7.5/10
value for money-9.5/10

hafiz mustafa is located right at the centre oftaksimsquare.it’s bang opposite the famous istiklal street. hafiz mustafa has seating inside as well as a few tables outside. the ambience is modern and has an airy feel. they serve food, tea, coffee, deserts and have a sweet section all in one place.i purchased their baklava which was very fresh & the hazelnut halwa which was soft and had lot of pieces of hazelnuts on it. they have over 50 different types of halwa, turkish delights & baklava’s. the service was a bit slow as there were lot of people who were purchasing sweets at the same time (as shown in the pictures). hafiz mustafa pricing for their sweets are on a higher side when compared to its rivals in istanbul, turkey. but hafiz mustafa will guarantee you the best quality sweets when compared to any other shop in istanbul. hands down
if you ever want to buy sweets like baklava, halwas or turkish delight from istanbul, look no further than purchasing it from any of hafiz mustafa’s 3 stores in istanbul.
specially recommend hafiz mustafa to international tourists looking to take some boxes of sweets back home.
highly recommend
