honestly i’m not really into turkish sweets, but hafiz mustafa is the only place i visit inistanbulwhen i crave cheesy kunefe! it’s like basma in lebanon and i really appreciate how crunchy it is? their trilece cake topped with framboise is also a must try! i always visit their taksim and usküdar branches.

hafiz mustafa would be my favorite desserts place in turkey!
it serves by far the best sweets with the richest and greatest taste.

there are several branches of hafiz mustafa all overistanbulso it’s convenient to find one near.

the knefeh and puddings at this place taste amazing! we ordered the rice, chocolate and pistachio puddings which are heavenly great.

the staff are friendly and professional, the service is fast too.

price value is great for the high quality dessert you’re eating. you can easily give this place 5 stars.

theee best sweet shop inistanbuland i m not surprised by the high ratings here on zomato. we tried the baklavas, puddings and their turkish tea. we also later packed 500gms of their assorted baklavas.
i must add what made my experience special was not just the sweets but the impeccable service. they were so much fun when they saw that we were with my 1 year old kid. the waitress infact took our child and entertained her and also gave her a candy free of cost. other staff members too were playing and giggling with my child. she had so much fun that day and we were truly touched by the way they looked after our daughter. this r the kind of experiences one likes to have as a tourist and am glad hafiz mustafa more than lived upto our expectations. this place just cant be missed when you are in istanbul!!!

probably one of the best dessert shops i have been to in my life! absolutely loveeeeeeed their baklavas! this was a daily visit for me during my stay inistanbuland i even packed a lot of these baklavas to give to friends and family back home. they tasted divine and heavenly. even tried the turkish puddings which were delicious as well.

definitely a must visit place if you are visiting! always bustling with people and yet the staff are so friendly.

the variety here is insane and is a great place to come to get your sugar fix.

5/5 in all aspects!

i always hear about this place from lebanon, so it's hard not give it a try while there. i ordered 2 künefes. a normal one with kaymak on top and a çikolatalı(chocolate) one. so basically its one of the best i've tasted inistanbulalthough the cheese was very heavy(kaşar cheese/similar to kashkaval) but that doesnt count because most of the food there is heavy by nature. the original one was great and the chocolate one had a nice twist in it which was surprisingly great as well. recommended.

one of the biggest, famous, known and clean place to have a real turkish sweets while you are in turkey .... we tried baklava which was perfect .... their kunafa is the best comparing to many places inistanbul.... kunafa is not greasy at all ... cheese is light and very soft and melting in the mouth .... one of the places that you must try when you go to istanbul

my favorite cafe in taksim square, they serve the most mouthwatering turkish desserts.the kanafeh and the eclairs that we had ordered was divine and so was the various turkish delights we bought.the cafe is lively and vibrant (always buzzing, even late at night) and the service is helpful and friendly. a visit toistanbulwould be incomplete without a stop at hafiz mustafa!

hafiz mustafa is an authentic known name inistanbulfor traditional desserts and especially baklava.

the pistachio baklava and icecream is my all time favorite choice in hafiz. the taste is unbeatable especially for the delicious pistachio ice cream (a must try).

but honestly i feel that hafiz mustafa is not living up to the expectations of a famous brand built in istanbul! why? here is why..

- hafiz mustafa isn't offering a good value for money as this desserts destination is noticeably more expensive than almost all other options even big brands like mado and faruk (one piece of pistachio baklava in hafiz mustafa costs around 5 turkish liras!). it's approximately 50% more expensive than others.

- the representation of the food is very poor as it's served on a very cheap plate! i wasn't motivated to take the picture but i did anyway only to post it here. i believe the bavlaka and icecream must be served as shown in the menu (don't show your customers a photo and then serve them something else) the plate look should be almost as shown in the menu.

- when you are in hafiz you're just in anotheristanbulcafe, no special atmosphere in this branch unlike the branch in topkapi, the management isn't keeping up with the concept and not doing so well branding wise.

i hope the management will consider the points mentioned and improve.

i do recommend haviz mustafa if you are inistanbulit's a must try!

i'm editing my former review of this place. you can read my former review below. the management was kind enough to take the time to write a great feedback to my post. i'm paying my respects to them. it's nice that at least they are reading the reviews and are trying their best to improve. this is a very positive thing and others should take as an example. it would be good and also interesting if the place had photos of the original hafiz mustafa which has been serving inistanbulfor 150 years. it would be great trip down the history lane. i hope they do this. regards

i had many doubts prior to trying this place out. for all i know, this place is not as old as stated on the glossy fancy signs. i was told that it became famous in the last few years and all of a sudden it turned into a historic place(!). it's too colorful and bright for my taste. yes they have tons of dessert like baklava, delight and muhallebi. we happened to try the regular and chocolate kunefe. i wouldn't eat the chocolate one again. the regular kunefe was fine. the waiter was kind and helpful. personally speaking, i wouldn't go there again.

i didn't find anything special with 'turkish baklavas' having tried them everywhere on our shortistanbultrip, but this place made me a fan of those small, sweet rectangular pieces!!
