// hafız mustafa is a dreamy sweet shop that you can find all sort of dessert. surely you would want to try turkishbaklavabut also aşure, muhallebi, künefe and sütlaç recommended. p.s: warning ! high doses of sugar !

you can’t pass by taksim without trying thebaklavaand kunafi of hafiz mustafa. very tasty and fresh ( taza). the only weakness i noticed in the place is the extremely overcrowded point of sale of hafiz halkoum products, the staff selling there were not friendly at all.

18.08.2019 have you ever tried a "chicken" dessert. prior to my holiday someone mentioned i must give it a try, so while on my travels and ticking off certain food must haves in istanbul, i finally gave it a try. i asked for the baked version. sadly it came cold. realised that even if you ask for the baked version of a dessert, it's still served cold. nonetheless it was soft and marshmallowy in consistency. initially you dont taste the shredded chicken but as you taste piece by piece and you look closely you can actually see the tiny shredded pieces of white meat. it's a rich dessert so i cousltn finish the portion size but definitely interesting in taste.

i had my favourite apple tea, and my sister had the chocolatebaklavawhich was delicious. perfectly crispy with all the individual layers showing absolute uniformity and full of flavour. this place is like the quern of desserts. the amount of people constantly coming in and ordering dessert or various types of baklava, turkish delights and nougat is astounding. not to mention they have 2 stores almost 2 shops apart in taksim square, that's besides the many other branches they have in istanbul. it's mind blowing the amount of indulgent treats this shop pushes out every minute.

it’s next to impossible to resist this place if you pass by, rarely do you come across a patisserie which has such a grandeur, still after resisting once due to lack of time, i finally found this gem ? which i am sure won’t disappoint you weather you go for there traditionalbaklavaor mordern cakes ?

came across this place while sight seeing and thought i’d try some baklava. it was lovely however too much to finish it all and staff were good to pack the rest for me to take it away. thebaklavaisn’t as sweet as back in london so that was a plus. although i’m not a hugebaklavafan, l must say i’ll definitely have it again next time i’m back in turkey.

this place is overrated and always over crowded. we had to wait in line for an hour to pay for thebaklavaand it wasn't even good. all the pieces tasted the same and they were drowned in sugar syrup. as for the kunafa, it was average.

this is a very popularbaklavaspot and is always crowded. the quality of the nuts in thebaklavaare very good and you can tell that everything is very fresh.

we tried a multiple assortment of theirbaklavaand their style ofbaklavais just not to my preference. i found it too sweet and not crispy enough. it is a more soft and syrupy style of baklava..if you like yourbaklavalike that then you will love it.

we did try their kunafa and that was delicious as well as these small tins of pomegranate chocolate and coffee chocolate. those are tasty and the tins make good collectibles and memories of our time in istanbul.
