i have been going to grover's since i moved to the area in 2008. i loved it. but will not be going back anytime soon. today i decided to order lunch for myself, a burger, a basket of 1/2 onion rings 1/2 fries and 3 bowls ofsoup(1 for with my lunch, 1 for a coworker and 1 for later) i was told the total was going to be $48.00, which i thought was a little high but i really wanted grover's so i got it anyway. when i picked it up gave to waitress $55.00 and told her to keep the change. when i returned to my office there was only 2soupin the bag. when i called back they said i had only ordered 2. i know i ordered 3. but that was beside to point. $48 for a burger fries/onion ring and 2 soups. who do they think they are ruth chris?????? and they only take cash are they trying to hide income from the state and the irs? hmmmmmmmm

stopped by here on a sunday afternoon, but they were closed. came back about a year later on a thursday evening. small place, and as a result, it was very loud. there is a sign posted that they do not accept credit cards, which is slightly annoying, as i usually use my credit card for everything. i had to check how much cash i had on-hand.  we were told to write our names on a chalkboard, which served as the wait list. we were seated in about 5 minutes. the service was friendly, although disorganized. everything is a la carte, so a burger, fries and drink add up fast. my wife and i both had the cattleman burger. we split a fries / onion rings combo, as well as a cheeseburgersoupas an appetizer. everything tasted great, and we left full (and feeling slightly disgusting). if we were looking to binge on a huge burger and fries, i would return here.

all the way from toronto.. we drive down at least 3 times a year for what we consider the best burger we have ever had. nice atmosphere, large portions & friendly staff. weekly specials as well make this a must for anyone looking for satisfying food experiences. parmesan wings & cheeseburgersoupare must try items. coming down in feb for another visit. so tired of cookie cutter restaurants in big box malls in the toronto area.this mom & pop place ranks as one of my families all time favorites.

review on grover's. went to grovers in a group of seven people on a saturday at 2:00pm. wait time was only a few minutes which i thought was great! place is very small, but we sat at a table that was near a window away from the bar. seemed to be the best seat in the house, but the only issue was that there were lots of people meandering around waiting for a table. service was very good. burgers andsoupwere good, but not quite cooked to our specifications. at the end of dinner, we had wanted three bowls ofsoupto go, but were told they were too busy to get that for us. i took it as the waitress not wanting to help us out, after all, she had already received her tip from us! the other negative was that they don't take charges and don't readily advertise it. they advertise that they are handicap accessible, but it sure doesn't look like it! overall, we all had a very good dinner and would come back again.

great food. the bruiser is delicious, the cheeseburgersoupwas great, and the burgers are huge and the price of the food is very reasonable. will be going back. had a little bit of a wait time, but once you're seated, the food get's there quick.

...the side trip to grover’s for food was worth it — justin heard of it from diners, drive-ins and dives. i wasn’t a huge fan of the cheeseburgersoup(yes, you read that right), but the cattleman burgers that the boys each ordered hit

plan to share when you go. all i can say its "wow" when we entered this typical down home bar and grill place with the reputation for the large burgers i was not disappointed. the waitress showed us where to write our party on the board and wait for a seat. there wasn't an empty seat at the bar either. we eventually got a table and it was worth the wait. however, i would recommend that you share unless you are extremely hungry. the burgers are huge! we ordered large onion rings and a large fries to split with our burgers. we had way too much food on our table but it was all really good. another table mate ordered the cheeseburgersoupand has raved about it for a week since we were there.

over-hyped is an understatement. where to start? i moved to buffalo this summer and decided to try grover's as one of my first restaurants after seeing the triple d episode. we went in on a saturday after calling and asking about a wait time (which we were told was 5-10 minutes). sadly, 2 parties with more than 10 people arrived before we got to grover's. the wait time was claimed to be only 20 minutes, so we decided to stay. 20 minutes turned into 45 minutes before we finally sat (we told the manager about this later and the response was "sorry, but it happens."). when we went to order, we were told they were out of the cheeseburger soup, so we decided to try the burgers. we knew about the no seasoning on the burgers, but let me tell you, there is a reason that every other burger joint uses salt and pepper. the meat was incredibly bland (luckily i had crumbly blue and onions to add some flavor). also, my burger was $10, and came with no side. sorry, but $10 for a burger that has almost no flavor is a joke. i decided to try grover's again to get the elusive cheeseburger soup. i called on a tuesday at 2pm to get somesoupto go. they were out again. i called back the following day at noon. i was told they don't give cheeseburgersoupto go. confused, i waited another week to order. when i called again, i finally was able to get cheeseburgersoupto go. it was good, not great, but definitely good. i will not be returning to grover's. there are plenty of other good restaurants in the area that have much better food, at much better prices, and for far less hassle.

lives up to the hype. we decided to place a pick-up order on our way to niagara falls on vacation. we ordered on a thursday, around 1pm; and had no trouble; however, the place was definitely packed when we arrived to pick-up our food (making us glad we did take-out). we couldn't wait to get to the campground to eat; so we ate in the car, never made it out of the parking lot, lol. we ordered the items featured on triple d--parmesan garlic wings, a bruiser burger, order of fries, and cheeseburger soup. i've been dying to try the cheeseburgersoupand it didn't disappoint--delicious. i'm not even a fan of wings, but could seriously devour a large serving of the parmesan garlic wings--incredible, the best wings i've ever had (i didn't even need the bleu cheese dip). my husband has not stopped talking about his bruiser burger. the meat was cooked to perfection and the bleu cheese was the icing on the cake--perfect texture, perfect seasoning; "the best burger i've ever had". i can't rate the service--since we ordered take-out; but the waitresses were polite on the phone and very friendly when we picked up our order. definitely recommend. it was a little pricey--$30.00 for our order; but, worth it.

worth a visit. everyone knows about the burgers at grover's, and if you haven't been there, you should try them at least once. the cheeseburgersoup(not on the menu) is different, it reminds me of the flavor of a big mac. i probably wouldn't get thesoupagain, but the burgers are top-notch. expect a long wait at the crowded bar, and they take cash only. also, closed on sundays.

when the waiter came over with mysoupi was shocked. i didn't know what to expect in my cheeseburger soup. the thick yellow broth and chunks of beef tomatoes and lettuce filled my bowl. daringly i took a bite. i was absolutely pleased with the flavor that burst in my mouth. it really tasted like a cheeseburger. i recommend it.
