over-hyped is an understatement. where to start? i moved to buffalo this summer and decided to try grover's as one of my first restaurants after seeing the triple d episode. we went in on a saturday after calling and asking about a wait time (which we were told was 5-10 minutes). sadly, 2 parties with more than 10 people arrived before we got to grover's. the wait time was claimed to be only 20 minutes, so we decided to stay. 20 minutes turned into 45 minutes before we finally sat (we told the manager about this later and the response was "sorry, but it happens."). when we went to order, we were told they were out of the cheeseburger soup, so we decided to try the burgers. we knew about the no seasoning on the burgers, but let me tell you, there is a reason that every other burger joint uses salt and pepper. the meat was incredibly bland (luckily i had crumbly blue and onions to add some flavor). also, my burger was $10, and came with no side. sorry, but $10 for a burger that has almost no flavor is a joke. i decided to try grover's again to get the elusive cheeseburger soup. i called on a tuesday at 2pm to get somesoupto go. they were out again. i called back the following day at noon. i was told they don't give cheeseburgersoupto go. confused, i waited another week to order. when i called again, i finally was able to get cheeseburgersoupto go. it was good, not great, but definitely good. i will not be returning to grover's. there are plenty of other good restaurants in the area that have much better food, at much better prices, and for far less hassle.
