green bay at hinterland

it was agreatnight at hinterland - and i'm not just talking about the food...

starting in the bar (as you do), we had agreattime discussing the beers available and the wines. the bar staff made it agreatwarmup to the main event.

and we weren't let down there either - helpful staff and excellent food / wine.

the service isn't what i would call quick, but the atmosphere was excellent so that didn't matter at all. it's just a shame they had to kick us out so they could close.

what can i say, hinterland has been such a huge part of our lives. we have quite literally had hundreds of meals here, and had some of our most important life events catered by hinterland.

let me just put this into perspective. my husband and i were married in napa, and our wedding dinner was held at the french laundry. we did a lot of comparing to hinterland during the meal, and hinterland holds it weight, no problem.

really quality meats and fish, oysters when they are on the menu, amazing vegetables and grains. i f i could make them taste like that i'd eat a hell of a lot more of them.greatwines, and their mixologists are fantastic.
chef kelly is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet,
do we have our favorite menu items? yes.
our favorite drinks? yes.
our favorite servers? yes.
have there been mistakes? of course. no one is perfect.

there's no question that hland is the top restaurant in green bay. hands down.

incredible fish. hinterland is an exceptional place for dinner. you expect places like this in chicago or new york, but we are pleased have one here at home! along with the fresh fish flown in daily they embrace local garden vegetables, fresh beef and pork from area farmers. become a regular and you will find out whatgreatservice is all about. the staff is extremely knowledgeable about food, wine, and microbrew. if given a few days notice, they can put together a fabulous five course tasting menu and pair with wines that enhance the experience even more.

poor service, average food. too bad as it hasgreatpotential. just needs new servers and kitchen staff.

good food / fair at best service. hinterland used to be the only place to go in green bay. they could use some work on there service. we go here along with chives and chefusion forgreatfood. it is nice to have 3greatrestaurants inj the city

best of the best in gb. it is agreatplace to dine, but make sure you bring some coin. at $8-10 a drink, wine or beer (microbrew) it can add up real fast. portions aren't huge by any means, but who really wants to walk out of an elegant place like hinterland with a doggy bag. place to treat yourself once every 6 months...

how about a $4 hamburger? we tried hinterland the other night despite elliot's scathing review. thank-god we ignored him, the place is amazing. we ordered off the tapas menu which is not only affordable, but delicious and it really makes for a fun dining experience. we had a fantastic meal in agreatatmosphere and didn't see raspberry sauce anywhere. i highly suggest checking out the tapas menu in the lounge to everyone looking for a dining experience unique to green bay. i especiall recomend hinterland to elliot because it is obvious he has never been there...

i am agreatfan of hinterland but urban spoon is so wrong on pricing. it's more like 50 to 100 dolars a meal not 15 to 20 maybe on the kids menu that's how much the food is

outstanding. this is the best place in town hands down. greatfood, super service.
