popularglenary'ssits above the famous bakery-cafe of the 1950s and is a classy darjeeling staple. when you hear about darjeeling, the first name automatically blinks in your mind is "glenary's". it was my first ever visit to darjeeling, and on my stay, i visitedglenary'sfour times. it clearly, depicts how amazed i was with the place. since it was build in the 50s era, the floor is made of solid wood and so are the doors, and windows. one can spot the old and classic newspapers from the british era, framed and hung on the wall. the view from the outside sitting area is something i cannot express into words, it's so breathtakingly beautiful. one can even spot the kanchenjunga ranges, on a clear day.
(note :- the bakery and the restaurant are different, the restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building.)
coming to the food part, we had -
their famous darjeeling green tea, sausages, egg cheese omelette, brownies, chocolate tart, hot chocolate and capuccino.
i really don't have to say much about their bakery, because the spread is so huge and unique, that one will actually take hours to order something. also, chocolate tart is one of their famous and in demand item. i loved the brownie too, it was filled with nuts.
the darjeeling tea was served on a pot and smelled heavenly. the cheese omelette and sausages were hot and crispy and i totally cherished it to bits and pieces. and, on the cold rainy nights/mornings, the hot chocolate is the ultimate saviour.
i had the best breakfast of my life. and i couldn't be more happy. the attendees were really co-operative and friendly. one extra star for their service too.
we have had also, parcelled some choco tarts for home. and, i hope i visit them real soon, again. ❤️
