almost every bengali has been to darjeeling once and has visited this legendary outlet. they also have a restaurant section which is on the upper floor. all the items in their bakery are freshly made. we have tasted their
1. choco doughnut -soft and delicious.
2. molten chocolate cake- good.
3.black forest pastry- again delicious.
4. plain cake-average.
5. pineapple pastry- average.
6. chicken subsandwich- really fresh and tasty .
7. bacon with eggs- bacon was chewy and too salty. will not recommend this particular dish.
8. hot chocolate -good.
9. cafe latte- average.
10. cream roll- average.
the ambience is beautiful and dreamy. you can see kanchenjunga sitting in their outdoor seats on a clear day. thefoodtakes a back seat as one becomes mesmerised by the view. the interior has a vintage colonial feel and smells of delicious fresh bakes.
price is a justified considering everything.

a trip to darjeeling is never complete without a visit to glenary's. a couple of months ago, we visited this legendary bakery on a chilly evening. we had to wait for quite long for thefoodto arrive, but the ambience is so aesthetic and beautiful, that anyone would hardly complain about waiting a bit long.

we had ordered cheese pizza and a cappuccino, they tasted great.

a must visit place to have amazingfoodwith amazing view.
tried roasted chicken sub sandwich and roasted pork sub sandwich. also tried lime pie and red velvet cake. must try dessert.

i visited glenarys the first time. the place is really beautiful with a scenic view and thefoodis very tasty and at affordable prices.

3.glenary's: ambience excellent butfoodquality not so good it was ok for us..we had tried chicken sizzler , mac and cheese with bacon.

although glenarys is considered one of the best bakers in town but i think it's a bit hype. the people who have tasted pondicherry bakery will surely agree. the bakery section is crowded by people but the quality offoodis far below expectations especially the pastries. we tried a chocolate and a cappuccino pastry. the taste of both were so blatant that we couldn't even finish it. then there was this banana walnut cake which was moderate in taste. the tarts were in the better side though, tasted good. however the best of glenarys were the handmade chocolates. we tasted praline, nutties and coconut chocolate and they were really nice. i would definitely recommend the handmade chocolates but bakery items were definitely a hype.

recently i came to visit darjeeling for a vacation. so i know that for cakes and cappuccino, this place is the best in darjeeling. i visited this place around 6 p.m. the ambiace is amazing. i went to the balcony section and take the seat. the view from the balcony is wonderful. coming to the food, the quality and quantity of thefoodis good. i loved their cappuccino.

glenarys.. a name that comes simultaneously with the name darjeeling.. a name that is like a love to everyfoodloving tourists & travelers visiting this beautiful hill town of darjeeling..

the bakery section of glenary's is just a love.. while you enter inside, the freshly baked smell of the cakes and muffins and chocolates will send a spellbound sensation throughout your mind and soul.. and the more you look into the displayed items, the more you will feel mad from inside!!! there are soo many varieties there.. which one to buy???

but alas, our hunger is big and stomach is limited.. so eventually have to filter from the tempting list and decide on some which can be enjoyed with a peace of mind 🙂
and finally decided just to have 4 items for the time being..

♡ japanese cheese cake - smooth and soft and melting in your mouth is what would describe this lovely cake from glenary's.. just loved it..
♡ blueberry cheese cake - one of the best cheese cakes i had till date.. prepared in a 3 layered combination of blueberry on top, full cheesy affair in the mid and cake part on the bottom, it's a heavenly item and must have from this outlet..
♡ choco roll - another lovely item from the house of glenary's.. although from outside it seems to be a simple choco roll, but this one is also made of 3 layers; a lovely white cream in the mid which is being surrounded by a nutty layer and then a chocolate layer on the top.. the combination is really awesome!!
♡ bacon quiche pie - coming out from the sweeth tooth, we decided to have a pie prepared from bacon.. pie was a first time for me.. and it didn't disappoint me though.. fresh and tasty, it was really good one..

on a final note, the glenary's bakery will surely spoil you with a variety of splendid bakery items.. so try as many of them as you can while you visit this lovely hill-station darjeeling 🙂😍🤩

glenary's is no less than an institution in darjeeling. this is a place that evokes emotions. thefoodis neither exquisite,nor flawless! but,taste,despite being an important aspect,is not everything! the picturesque background of clouds playing with the majestic kanchenjunga will drive your worries away(atleast for a while) and you can indulge in the sinfully sweet treats without any guilt.so, next time you visit this restaurant,make sure to grab a table by the balcony,enjoy the sceneries with a cup of hot chocolate and let the queen of the hills welcome you with a warm hug.

this is undoubtedly the best place in darjeeling.
you will have a magical breakfast here, with the view of khanchanjunga mountain range from outdoor seating and beautiful decor from indoor seating.

this is apparently the most famous restaurant in darjeeling! the restaurant has two parts - this is the bakery which closes little early (around 7.30/8pm)
as much as i had heard about this place, it was little disappointing when we tried it out. the otherfooditems like the sandwich was much better than the bakery items. of the bakery items that we ordered - red velvet pastry, black forest pastry, lime pie, cream roll, brownie, chocolate roll & plum cake, the chocolate roll was the best. brownie and lime pie were decent. cream roll was ok. the plum cake was just average. so were the pastries. these items can be only ordered via self service. probably i should try other items next time! however, otherfooditems like burger, sandwich, coffee can be ordered on the table. the grilled chicken sandwich was good.
it has indoor as well outdoor seating. even during winters, people can sit out because they lights in the form of heaters which is brilliant! the washroom was dirty.

if u have gone to darjeeling, but never had anything at glenary, then sorry guys!! your darjeeling trip is incomplete. its a must recommendable place. it is situated opposite to the kfc, near mall. lets discuss regarding some points:

1. ambiance: this place has the best ambiance in darjeeling. just spellbound!! inner side and rooftop are also available. but my recommendation to take enjoy on the rooftop. well decorated also. in one word, "classy'.

2.foodand quality: as the place,thefoodwas really awesome. i had ordered cheese omelette and hot chocolate. trust me!! the cheese omelette was so yummy and so cheesy!! the size of the cheese omlette was huge, even enough for 2 persons. this cheese omelette is most recommended from my side. along with, the hot chocolate just had stolen my mind!! so good it was. in all, theirfoodand quality is too good.

3. price: now lets come to this important point. i had become so strange with their prices. too much pocket friendly and reasonable also compare to ambiance andfoodquality. cheese was 100rupees and hot chocolate was 70 rupees only.

in all, i must say again that this place is must recommended from my side if you ever visit darjeeling atleast for once. this place has become an iconic place for allfoodlovers. the behaviour of their staffs are so polite. at last, i want to say that i went to darjeeling at a peak season and they maintained their hygiene and quality same as they do. it had done me so strange!! so, they deserve at least 5stars. :) really!! it was great experience.

thefoodwas awesome. and the ambience was very good. the special mentiones are blueberry cheesecake, lemon tart ,baked beans and fruit salad with ice cream. one who loves english breakfast can drool over this place. moreover the ambience is so awesome that you won't want to leave thr place easily. i would rate the place in following way :

definitely a must visit place when in darjeeling.

visited this place to have breakfast during my trip to darjeeling with mrinal debnath . our experience here is not so good because the staffs of the place were not so welcoming but more ignorant to serve us. we got a seat and for 15 to 20 minutes there was none to take order. finally they took the order but thefoodarrived very late. they took more than 30 minutes to prepare two cheese omletes. we felt very bad with their service. the taste of the omlete was okaish. we took a parcel of two chicken rolls and they tasted very good. only for that i am giving 3 stars out of 5 stars.
