the ambience is very good, the whole interior, including the furniture is done in bamboo, looks beautiful, served in brass utensils, gives a very assamese vibe right when you enter till you go through the menu. the menu includes many authentic dishes. but i wonder why the quality of food is so bad. i have tried the ganeshguri branch also, but didn't like the food. i ordered pigeon pepper curry, chitol fish cooked in mustard, thaliand felt they had heated some old food cooked in a hurry. i really didn't like anything here.

this place! guys, watch out before anyone randomly suggests you this place. this place is good for a person who can wait for an hour to get one's ordered food in the table. extremely slow service. i have never been to a place worse than this in terms of food and beverage service staffs. pathetic service. today, we were here for our lunch (myself with my parents and sister). i came here to have something authentic and special, since we don't get that in kolkata. we had ordered for 2 assamese veg thalis, fried pigeon meat, o-tenga'r shital maas and gorai maas pitika. we had to wait for almost 45 minutes for the food to arrive. meanwhile, we see on other tables that the guests are being served complimentary soup. on asking about our share, the steward bluffed saying that he didn't want to serve because the soup was too salty to be served to us. he bluffed right on our faces when we could see other stewards serving the same soup to other tables. we didn't want to argue so we kept quiet. later after waiting for like 45 minutes, we get our food. we have been here quite a few times, so we knew that the rice and dal of thethaliis unlimited. when we asked for a second helping, the steward straight away refused to serve us extra rice. the injustice was not at all expected, also the ill behaviour. even after all this, nobody came to attend us. we had to keep waiting for our steward to come up to us. also, there are some lady stewards in this stand-alone restaurant. i really appreciate the participation of girls in the service sector. but then, the worse part was seeing them badly groomed with no hospitality etiquettes. while the guests are dining, i could see the girls sitting clumsily at a visible corner near the entrance, right in front of the guests. i personally do not appreciate the hospitality of this area. food was good but was limited for "us" (as the steward refused to serve). therefore, unfortunately i won't be returning to this place at any cost. they just lost one customer today. and if this continues, this place will keep losing potential customers with every passing day.
i hope they pay heed to whatever they want to do with the beautiful place they have. make the most out of everything and try attract more customers. wish you guys good luck! 👍

wanted to taste authentic cousine of assam and we reached the right place. the place is so spacious and big with bamboo and cane themed. awesome assamthaliwas served to us on heavy brass plates. we ordered fish thali. there is porkthaliand chickenthalitoo. we ordered another pork dish along with that, which was awesome too. for topping up our delight an awesome milk kheer also got served as sweet dessert.

had been frequently visiting this place. it was good initially but has declined over the last 2 years. brisk business has taken its toll on both food and service. the most sought afterthalihas numerous competitors at half the rate. recently in search of quick bite we ordered a thali. all served was cold rice, cold dal and cold non descript vegetables. had to ask them thrice to change the thali. serving staff were indifferent as if they haven't got their salary for some time. i am surely cutting it from my list of must visit assamese cuisine restaurant.

really love the ambience and the interiors of the place. the food is simply superb. you can have the traditional assamesethalias well as the other assamese dishes here are worth savouring, specially the duck and pigeon meat. even the tandoori chicken as well as other chicken items are lip smackingly delicious.

have been to this location for more than 5 times, so yes, aunthentic assamese cuisine available at not-so-reasonable prices, but worth every penny. vegthaliis good, but my favourite would be the "duck curry with potato" and "chicken curry with sesame seeds". these can be paired either with the assamese vegthalior some steamed rice and daal.
ambience-4/5
food-4/5
staff-3.5/5
service-4/5
experience-4/5.

as a true blue axomiya, an assamesethalinever fails to excite and entice me! and staying far away from home, athalias exquisite as ours is always a personal favourite.

we went to our favourite restaurant and decided to go with the usual suspects, in addition to thethali- ari masor tenga, pork and mustard fish. mythaliwas the fish thali.

all the portions were generous and we couldn’t complain about one single dish! even the aloo pitika was out of the world. the fishthaliis different because you get to taste three different types of fish dishes. my only request would be to use a better rohu piece because the one i was served was tiny and quite frankly a little broken.

would love to come here again!

a very nice place to have authenticthalidishes. this restaurant is famous for its pork and duck dishes. i went there for a family dinner and was surprised at the place's ambience - widespread seating area, nice arrangements and a cosy feel. fans of assamese dishes will love this place because of its menu. food is amazing and prices are okay while the service can be improved. all in all, a perfect place for an assamese meal or a meal with family. cheers!

gams delicacy is one of my favourite place to grab assamese traditional and authentic delicacies .
pretty affordable and pocket friendly rates.
located just opposite to moniram dewan trade centre it's a wonderful place to spent a beautiful time with some yummy food. infrastructure is made quite well and all of bamboo . it also gives you a feel of a resort and children's can enjoy and play around too.
serving you authentic vegetablethaliand with proper presentation in assamese traditional plates and bowls (kahor kahi bati) with kaji nemo and dali bota.
also we ordered for pigeon with pepper (paro jaluk di) , fish roast( guroi mas pura) , and also local chicken curry ...
overall it was awesome...👍
delicacy is also famous for amazing duck recipes which are yummy too and a must try...

if you wish to waste your hard earned money in the name of authentic assamese food this is  the place to do it. heard a lot about its food, cane furniture and its ambiance . but none could impress me . the food didnt quite have a lingering effects it has spoiled  my siesta. starting from the beginning its located in the highway opposite maniram dewan trade centre and its has also got its duplictes delicacy dhaba and nirus dhaba as its neighbours. the menu does have the variety but assamese food was never so tasteless. veg akhaj was on the cheaper side but for three fried fish which cost me rs 450 and tasted bland. my mind has just gone into a comatose state. the entire vegthaliwas a mess no taste nothing it just failed to tickle my buds.the service was slow and there was a hell lot of people it seemed like a big community kitchen and with the hard cane furniture it just made the waiting time a hell . chicken in potato a basic dish also tasted horrible  and bland. if the owner / management is determined to go for quality stuff they should also check the pieces that are being served which was hard meat. in plain language the local chicken they they served was overaged. over all a big no from my side if some one wishes to taste authentic assamese food. if you just have to fill your stomach its ok otherwise  its better to go to sonapur and enjoy your day out instead of wasting money in the name of niche assamese food. over all a very bad experience .

do not judge a book by its cover- this phrase totally relates to gam's delicacy. the entry can be very deceiving, but once inside, the one hall restaurant has the capacity to seat 40-45 tables. the beams and columns of the structure has been made completely of bamboo and also there is enough parking space at the back. do no worries. there are two delicacy in the area so be sure that you get the right one, the one where the flyover which is besides the isbt ends.
coming to the food, we wanted to try out thethalibut since we were a little late for lunch, there was none left. but this place did not disappoint. we had rice, ari fish tenga, local chicken fry, and mushroom masala.
the ari fish tenga was to die for. subtle taste and texture just explodes your senses. the fish had very few bones and was so fresh. even the local fry chicken was very interesting. not your regular kfc fried chicken. it was fried in onions and some spices which were quite a good combination.
i am just waiting to get an excuse to visit this place again- hopefully soon.
