the ambience is very good, the whole interior, including the furniture is done in bamboo, looks beautiful, served in brass utensils, gives a very assamese vibe right when you enter till you go through the menu. the menu includes many authentic dishes. but i wonder why the quality offoodis so bad. i have tried the ganeshguri branch also, but didn't like the food. i ordered pigeon pepper curry, chitol fish cooked in mustard, thali and felt they had heated some oldfoodcooked in a hurry. i really didn't like anything here.

this place is my all time favourite in guwahati, as well in bangalore, they serve authentic assamesefood, thali is a must try which i recently tried in guwahati with chicken curry and pigeon curry and both of them were as expected... visiting this place will always give you satisfaction.

thefoodwas really not worth the price. it was served cold. and the attitude of the waiters were not good

it is a well maintained restaurant that gives an extra flavour of northeast india. they have proper parking plot for cars too. the restaurant is surrounded by a well maintained bamboo trees in all directions. there is a small playground for kids as well. once we stepped into the restaurant, it gives a nice aroma of bamboo shoots. later realised that it was from bamboo shoots pickles.
we ordered assamese fish meal and assamese pork meal.
assamese fish meal had 9 items in which three items are fish items. one fish curry, small fish deep fried and a mashed small fish.
assamese pork meal had 7 items. one pork curry cooked with gongura /sorrel leaves. another pork item was deep fried.
all over thefoodwas delicious and well presented in the most authentic way. we went for the authentic meal and we got it. thank you for that.

loved this place, although it was hectic in the afternoon hours but it is normal since it is situated near a national highway.foodwas good, recommendable 👌👍 i ordered naan, paneer butter masala,lemon chicken and veg fried rice and it was all savoury! this place has accommodation for a hugenumber of customers and maybe just because of the large area that it covers the ac's doesn't cool some places which is why some customers may have a lil tough time.

waited for half an hr today. but not a single waiter to be at service. when arrived asked the reason for delayed and he was like dumb. not even saying sorry. go there if you got two much leisure time to wait forfoodto serve

it was our worst experience here.thefoodwas really awful.the waiter was of full of attitude .when we asked to change thefoodthey told it can't be done once it is served .really would never visit here again

this place! guys, watch out before anyone randomly suggests you this place. this place is good for a person who can wait for an hour to get one's orderedfoodin the table. extremely slow service. i have never been to a place worse than this in terms offoodand beverage service staffs. pathetic service. today, we were here for our lunch (myself with my parents and sister). i came here to have something authentic and special, since we don't get that in kolkata. we had ordered for 2 assamese veg thalis, fried pigeon meat, o-tenga'r shital maas and gorai maas pitika. we had to wait for almost 45 minutes for thefoodto arrive. meanwhile, we see on other tables that the guests are being served complimentary soup. on asking about our share, the steward bluffed saying that he didn't want to serve because the soup was too salty to be served to us. he bluffed right on our faces when we could see other stewards serving the same soup to other tables. we didn't want to argue so we kept quiet. later after waiting for like 45 minutes, we get our food. we have been here quite a few times, so we knew that the rice and dal of the thali is unlimited. when we asked for a second helping, the steward straight away refused to serve us extra rice. the injustice was not at all expected, also the ill behaviour. even after all this, nobody came to attend us. we had to keep waiting for our steward to come up to us. also, there are some lady stewards in this stand-alone restaurant. i really appreciate the participation of girls in the service sector. but then, the worse part was seeing them badly groomed with no hospitality etiquettes. while the guests are dining, i could see the girls sitting clumsily at a visible corner near the entrance, right in front of the guests. i personally do not appreciate the hospitality of this area.foodwas good but was limited for "us" (as the steward refused to serve). therefore, unfortunately i won't be returning to this place at any cost. they just lost one customer today. and if this continues, this place will keep losing potential customers with every passing day.
i hope they pay heed to whatever they want to do with the beautiful place they have. make the most out of everything and try attract more customers. wish you guys good luck! 👍

nice dhaba. i ordered veg thali, kadhai paneer, tandoori chicken, dal fry, butter naan, jeera rice...thefoodwas awesome.naan and tandoori roti need a brush up...i will visit again

had been frequently visiting this place. it was good initially but has declined over the last 2 years. brisk business has taken its toll on bothfoodand service. the most sought after thali has numerous competitors at half the rate. recently in search of quick bite we ordered a thali. all served was cold rice, cold dal and cold non descript vegetables. had to ask them thrice to change the thali. serving staff were indifferent as if they haven't got their salary for some time. i am surely cutting it from my list of must visit assamese cuisine restaurant.

guess wat, we 3 girls went last month and let me tell you, from d moment we entered till the time we left, in between the photocliks n using the washroom too, 12/13waiters in the second counter,formed a grup n have their eyes stuck only on us. quite unprofessional!.. then our bill was of 900rs including tax. still then the waiter who attended at our table is indirectly asking me 10rs becz its our first time..i had no idea y we need to pay 10rs more but on the 6th time we realised he is asking for a tip.man, we are students! n asking tips by your own??!! otherwise, decor is good n spacious.foodtastes average.a bit costly.n 2 flies were constantly disturbng.

nice place. mr. bhuban gam is the pioneer in this service. the 1st person to bring assamese traditionalfoodto the restaurant. he maintains it's quality cleanliness tradition.

my first taste of assamese cuisine! no sooner did we land in guwahati than we rushed to gams. had read good reviews in several blogs and it did not disappoint. the ambience is decent; nothing out of the ordinary but thefoodis delicious. i was desperate to try smoked pork having heard so much about it earlier. we ordered smoked pork with dry bamboo shoots, spicy ari fish curry and joha rice. the smoked pork was mouthwatering and i could have had it al day long! the fish curry was okey-dokey. overall a good introduction to the cuisine i was dying to taste!
