the ambience is very good, the whole interior, including the furniture is done in bamboo, looks beautiful, served in brass utensils, gives a very assamese vibe right when you enter till you go through the menu. the menu includes many authentic dishes. but i wonder why the quality of food is so bad. i have tried the ganeshguri branch also, but didn't like the food. i ordered pigeon pepper curry, chitolfishcooked in mustard, thali and felt they had heated some old food cooked in a hurry. i really didn't like anything here.

it is a well maintained restaurant that gives an extra flavour of northeast india. they have proper parking plot for cars too. the restaurant is surrounded by a well maintained bamboo trees in all directions. there is a small playground for kids as well. once we stepped into the restaurant, it gives a nice aroma of bamboo shoots. later realised that it was from bamboo shoots pickles.
we ordered assamesefishmeal and assamese pork meal.
assamesefishmeal had 9 items in which three items arefishitems. onefishcurry, smallfishdeep fried and a mashed small fish.
assamese pork meal had 7 items. one pork curry cooked with gongura /sorrel leaves. another pork item was deep fried.
all over the food was delicious and well presented in the most authentic way. we went for the authentic meal and we got it. thank you for that.

my first taste of assamese cuisine! no sooner did we land in guwahati than we rushed to gams. had read good reviews in several blogs and it did not disappoint. the ambience is decent; nothing out of the ordinary but the food is delicious. i was desperate to try smoked pork having heard so much about it earlier. we ordered smoked pork with dry bamboo shoots, spicy arifishcurry and joha rice. the smoked pork was mouthwatering and i could have had it al day long! thefishcurry was okey-dokey. overall a good introduction to the cuisine i was dying to taste!

as a true blue axomiya, an assamese thali never fails to excite and entice me! and staying far away from home, a thali as exquisite as ours is always a personal favourite.

we went to our favourite restaurant and decided to go with the usual suspects, in addition to the thali - ari masor tenga, pork and mustard fish. my thali was thefishthali.

all the portions were generous and we couldn’t complain about one single dish! even the aloo pitika was out of the world. thefishthali is different because you get to taste three different types offishdishes. my only request would be to use a better rohu piece because the one i was served was tiny and quite frankly a little broken.

would love to come here again!

one of the branches of this popular chain and have to say they have mantianed consistent quality. the ambience and decor is quite good and has a fairly large space for a good dining experience. we had ordered rice, matikalai dal, boralifishand egg curry and each of the items were good to taste. a definite stop for anyone looking for good assamese food.

great food. try the bamboo shoot pork and arifishcurry with rice. the chicken curry was just like it would be at home. the service did take long and it was almost 40 minutes before we got our food.

gams delicacy is one of my favourite place to grab assamese traditional and authentic delicacies .
pretty affordable and pocket friendly rates.
located just opposite to moniram dewan trade centre it's a wonderful place to spent a beautiful time with some yummy food. infrastructure is made quite well and all of bamboo . it also gives you a feel of a resort and children's can enjoy and play around too.
serving you authentic vegetable thali and with proper presentation in assamese traditional plates and bowls (kahor kahi bati) with kaji nemo and dali bota.
also we ordered for pigeon with pepper (paro jaluk di) ,fishroast( guroi mas pura) , and also local chicken curry ...
overall it was awesome...👍
delicacy is also famous for amazing duck recipes which are yummy too and a must try...

if you wish to waste your hard earned money in the name of authentic assamese food this is  the place to do it. heard a lot about its food, cane furniture and its ambiance . but none could impress me . the food didnt quite have a lingering effects it has spoiled  my siesta. starting from the beginning its located in the highway opposite maniram dewan trade centre and its has also got its duplictes delicacy dhaba and nirus dhaba as its neighbours. the menu does have the variety but assamese food was never so tasteless. veg akhaj was on the cheaper side but for three friedfishwhich cost me rs 450 and tasted bland. my mind has just gone into a comatose state. the entire veg thali was a mess no taste nothing it just failed to tickle my buds.the service was slow and there was a hell lot of people it seemed like a big community kitchen and with the hard cane furniture it just made the waiting time a hell . chicken in potato a basic dish also tasted horrible  and bland. if the owner / management is determined to go for quality stuff they should also check the pieces that are being served which was hard meat. in plain language the local chicken they they served was overaged. over all a big no from my side if some one wishes to taste authentic assamese food. if you just have to fill your stomach its ok otherwise  its better to go to sonapur and enjoy your day out instead of wasting money in the name of niche assamese food. over all a very bad experience .

do not judge a book by its cover- this phrase totally relates to gam's delicacy. the entry can be very deceiving, but once inside, the one hall restaurant has the capacity to seat 40-45 tables. the beams and columns of the structure has been made completely of bamboo and also there is enough parking space at the back. do no worries. there are two delicacy in the area so be sure that you get the right one, the one where the flyover which is besides the isbt ends.
coming to the food, we wanted to try out the thali but since we were a little late for lunch, there was none left. but this place did not disappoint. we had rice, arifishtenga, local chicken fry, and mushroom masala.
the arifishtenga was to die for. subtle taste and texture just explodes your senses. thefishhad very few bones and was so fresh. even the local fry chicken was very interesting. not your regular kfc fried chicken. it was fried in onions and some spices which were quite a good combination.
i am just waiting to get an excuse to visit this place again- hopefully soon.

their veg thali is something that i always order. right in proportion and also the choice of localfishthat is available. i like going to this place because somehow they have been able to maintain their quality of food, however i was once taken aback with the duck curry that i ordered. i got a stale smell. that was a major turn off, but however i kept going there and can say that their fish, chciken and mutton are worth giving a try.
cant get enough of their payash that they serve before you close your plate.

the definition of the term "assamese" has been a subject to speculation at all levels of late and for the very reason the usage of the word "assamese" amuses me a lot even if for the description of a particular cuisine. without making things more complicated, i would like to say that gams delicacy which claims "assamese" food to be its forte has got plenty to offer in its platter, literally. there is a choice of meat andfishavailable cooked in a variety of ways in sync with the tribal culinary customs. the interior is mostly done in cane and does evoke a regional flavour. however, the chairs are awkwardly designed and fails to provide any comfort. i refrained from tasting any hardcore regional food and decided to go for a much safer option of pork roast to check out the mettle of the chef. the pork roast failed to build my confidence. the pieces were not cut uniformly - a disaster if you are going to roast your meat and the sauce tasted a little bit strong. nonetheless, i liked the ambience and hospitality, especially when the bill was brought in a traditional "xorai" along with areca nuts and betel leaves.
