fuji japanese steakhouse

since moving to conway, i heard that fuji is the place toeathibachi. so i went with a few friends who had eaten there many times before. we waited about 10 minutes (not bad for a saturday night/ holiday weekend) we were seated and placed our orders and got our salad and soup. it took about 30 minutes from the time we sat down until the chef came out to cook. he barely said 2 words to us. he just made the food. no show, no conversation, nothing. when we would ask a question he would answer like we were idiots or just ignore us all together. the waitress was slow to refill drinks. then we got our checks and they added their own tip to it, but still had a spot for a tip on the credit card receipt. terrible service, food was "okay" terrible location. probably will not go back.

this is the best hibachi that i have ever had. i live in little rock but my husband and i drive here regularly just toeathere. and when we don't fill like siting at the hibachi table and watching the show we can order the same thing at a personal table. try the yum yum sauce, and if you like sauce with heat  ask for it hot!

unhappy. my husband and i went to fugi's on a friday at lunch. i ordered a steak and shrimp and my husband said, " i'll have that too." when our plates came out i was served steak and chicken. i don'teatchicken. i immediately told the waitress that it was wrong. she said "no, you say steak and chicken." " i said no." she then raised her voice and said "no, you say steak and chicken." this was.quite odd since i had not even said what was wrong with the order. my husband just switched plates with me and we ate and left. but we will never go back. i believe the waitress' s name was roni.

it's really a hit or miss here. some of the cooks are awesome and give you equal portions among the table. others play favorites and will portion really unfair. multiple times my friend & i have gone and we'd order the same thing but get 2 very different portions.. especially on the meat. also, they don't quite understand the difference between medium or well done. steak is either red or beef jerky. there's rarely an in between. the waitresses are horrible. you'll be lucky to get a refill. the yum yum sauce is the best in conway which is what keeps me coming back. lunch specials are also awesome. you get the same portion of food at lunch as you will at dinner for half the price.. wouldn'teathere for dinner unless it was a special occasion that we couldn't do lunch. lol.

thoroughly unimpressed and extremely disappointed!. so i ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer-- which you would think would be dominated by, oh, i don't know, shrimp-- however, there were only two pieces of shrimp, and seven pieces of vegetable tempura. i mean, look, i get it. i'm supposed toeatmy vegetables. thanks for your concern regarding my health, fuji. but *only two pieces* of shrimp for $8?? i even complained to the server about it, and she simply said, "that's what we do here. the appetizer is two pieces of shrimp, and the entree is five." are you kidding me? how the heck did i pay $8 for two pieces of shrimp tempura?!?!

my boyfriend, who was sitting on the other side of the awkwardly spaced booth, ordered chicken teriyaki. i've had better chicken teriyaki at literally any mall food court. the meat was tough and most likely frozen at some point in time. the sauce was very weak.

the service was just ok. glad for the experience, but definitely not recommending it, nor going back.

ugh. coming back from a short vacation and trip, i decided that i wanted toeatsushi on my last day off. i walked in to fuji for the first time, and i "sign in??" perhaps that had something to do with the alcohol, which i didn't order. as i'm looking at my menu, the table in front of me start arguing with the waiter, and 3 of the 4 people send back their food. later, one of those 3 send it back again. this should have been a clue. i look at the menu and find that it is quite expensive. i order some sushi and two rolls. the place was pretty empty, and yet the service was slow. i ran out of tea, and was never offered more, until i was ready to leave. the sushi was served without the usual wasabi, and did not look appetizing. the sushi was horrible. the rice was overcooked, the fish was sort of dry, and definitely not fresh. they compensated for this by putting extra wasabi on it. nasty nasty!

fortunately, ieatsushi regularly, so i know what sushi is supposed to taste like. had this been my very first time, i would never have eaten it again. even now, whenever ieatsushi, i think about the carp i ate here.

one of the best places toeatin conway. awesome food. fuji has great sushi - my favorite is the hollywood roll which you can't find everywhere. i usually order a sushi roll or two and a side of fried rice. i could practically drink their yum yum sauce.

a very quiet, pleasant atmosphere. immediate seating for a sunday night. i was unable toeatthe sushi but my boyfriend says it was absolutely amazing. my entree was very good though a little too salty. overall a good experience

this is my favorite restaurant in town. it's fun toeatat the habchi part, and it's exciting to watch them make the food. i can never finish all of my meal because you want toeatit all, it's so good! i love this place!

our family loves fuji. my wife orders the filet, probably the best hibachi steak i have ever eaten. i opt for sashimi. we used toeathere once or twice a week. serves alcohol with membership.
