soooooo good!!! i had thechickenand waffle sandwich and it was amazing. thechickenwas very crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. the maple sauce that it was dressed with was so flavorful and just the right amount of sweet. my husband had the four pegs burger with poutine fries, thank goodness he shared with me because it was so delicious. the atmosphere was very calm and cool, we were probably not cool enough to be there but i am glad we tried it. we tried a flight of beers that the very knowledgeable bartender recommended, all were tasty but the best was the pit stop. it was sour and paired really well with both of our sandwiches. if you want to try something new and really cool (even if you are an unhip married couple celebrating your 8th wedding anniversary) i highly recommend four pegs.

this place has the bestchicken and waffle sandwich and some awesome fried green tomatoes. i'm always intrigued by the different flavors of creme brulee. as far as service i've not had a bad experience but it goes from average to good. normally go at lunch but i have been around for dinner. i prefer lunch time due to less noise.

never again. service sucks. burgers took an hour while people who
ordered 30 minutes later got their fried chicken
before us???? either oldchickenlaying around or the
worlds coldest grill.burgers were grey and flavorless.
i asked the cold dude behind the bar if they came with fries
and he said yes but failed to mention they were drowned
in cheesey goop - gross....... do yourself a huge favor
and go to one of the other great places in louisville
and skip this lackluster establishment.

good food, good beer.. four pegs (formerly germantown cafe in my childhood), is pretty good. the food has always been delicious... my favorite are the fried green tomatoes (maybe the best i've had in the city?), and the fries. thechickenand waffle isnt too bad, but its severely heavy and definitely worth splitting. a great beer selection is available and the service is fast and straight to the point.

compliments to the chef. to put it simply, the food at four pegs is amazing. when my friends and i stopped by for lunch on saturday, it was pretty slow, which meant that we got to talk to the chef about the food. and based off what he told (and based off my taste buds), four pegs is now one of my favorite places in town. they practically make everything from scratch, and it really shows in things like the beer glazed burger andchickenand waffle sandwich. i'm looking forward to going back in the future and trying the other items from their menu.

oh, and the beer is pretty awesome as well.

meh! not worth going back.... the food was nothing great and the place was so loud we had to yell at each other. i will admit we are not beer drinkers, but the vast selection seemed like it would be a hit with those who do. the pretzel and beer cheese was not what i had imagined. the beer cheese was served cold and had a tart after taste that did not pair well with the overly salted pretzel. i ordered thechickenand waffle sandwich, which lacked any kind of flavor. the waffle itself was plain, so i tried only eating the chicken, which proved to be dry and flavorless as well. their fries were the only thing i actually enjoyed. my fiance ordered one of the burgers and it was good, nothing amazing, but it sure beat the flavorless sandwich i had. we will definitely not be returning for the food.

delicious, warm, friendly. what can be said about four pegs that hasn't been said? delicious food, warm atmosphere, and friendly service.
the poutine was so good i could have licked the wax paper.
heavenly just doesn't describe thechickenand waffle sandwich properly. it was rich and delightful.
we sat at the bar and can't say enough about the guy who took our order. he was very welcoming and attentive, even while many other patrons came to the bar.
we had a peachy time and can't wait to go back.

great food, great beer. when my friends and i are looking for a place to hang out, four pegs is always high on the list. the food is delicious, especially the beer glazed burger andchickenand waffle sandwich. the beer list is also amazing. some of my favorite beers in the world (dogfish head 120 minute, founders kentucky breakfast stout, and ommegang three philosophers to name a few) have all been on tap here!

i've noticed that quite a few people have commented on the service being "bad." however, i don't understand what they're talking about. the staff is awesome, and they're really knowledgeable about the beer and food. i suppose that ordering at the bar might throw a few people off, but the bartenders have always been prompt whenever i've asked them for something.

overall, if you like good beer and tasty food, then you'll probably like four pegs.

we will be back, but next time will be the clencher.. so... being new to louisville, we always end up trying new places because we get a groupon or living social deal. this place was no exception. so, for any of you restaurants considering not doing one of these, here is a good argument for it. we never would have found this place without it, and we will most definitely be back.
before i go any further i would like to say that our entire party agreed that four pegs, honestly the most unlikely of places if you ask me, officially has the best fish and chips we had ever had. and this coming from 3 serious foodies who have a combined total of 34 years in the "biz" and a german guy who has had his fair share of "fish and chips" from the land of "fish and chips," that being europe. it was perfect. fish was perfectly done, breaded just right, seasoned perfectly, best damn malt vinegar tartar sauce, i could go on... but you get the picture. oh yeah, and the chips were good too.
now, for the rest of the review. the outdoor seating area is a nice addition, but if you are planning to stick around past dark, you had better bring a flashlight. it is pitch black out there! if this place would like to encourage people to stick around, they need to get some string lights up on that fence and some citronella candles. seriously. and some potted plants wouldn't kill you. may i suggest citronella plants as well-- there is definitely a mosquito issue after dark.
the beer selection is pretty good, they had hopfen-weisse, which is one of my all time faves, so, i was good. the other items we had were honestly only so-so, especially when compared with the fish and chips. fried green tomato burger was waaaay overcooked. like a hockey puck. and kind of flavorless for something that had the potential for so much flavor. thechickenand waffle sandwich, which could and should have been glorious, was not. the waffle, i do have to say was perfect, but thechickenjust killed it. again, waaaay overcooked, some kind of (maybe blackening?) seasoning, that when combined with the dark brown fry job done to the crust, just tasted like, blech. the syrup (or honey) should be served hot and on the side; it just soaks into the the sandwich and makes it soggy. and there is nothing else on it. it just needs something... like some seasoned honey butter.
by the way, there is no table service, even though the bartenders/servers were literally sitting around (sitting down at their own bar) doing pretty much nothing. employees were coming and going (in their vehicles) which are in clear view of the outdoor seating area, in their kitchen gear. it was strange.
overall, i just got the impression that this place was not run very professionally (my husband used a four letter word, i believe it was "hipster").
i really hope this place can get their act together because i feel like it could be brilliant. four pegs would be the bomb if the staff would decide to put away their ipads for a minute (yes, i know your ordering system is on them, but don't lie, you were playing on them too), and take a little more interest in the customers, the aesthetics of the place, and for heaven's sake, look at what is on the plate!

clean, comfortable, classy. the beer list is among the best in town. lots of high gravity, hard to find beers. the food was great, too. i had thechickenand waffles, fantastic. lightly breadedchickenbreast served between two waffles with a maple/brown sugar/mayo syrup that made this dish truly sweet and savory, served with fresh cut fries that were very good. my better half had the fish and chips, great as well. again, lightly breaded and very crispy. overall, an a+!
