fantastic brunch, and you can't beat their $2 mimosas! whether it's chicken and waffles or lump crab cakes, smoked salmon omelets or candied shrimp, they have such a unique selection ofbrunchoptions and they're all good!

food works is located in the  north shore  area in part of an old, renovated multistory knitting mill—which, in itself, has multiple historical stories to tell. sharing this large building with  knitting mill antiques , food works opened in 2006 to bring “progressive southern” cuisine to the north shore area. i’d heard good things about their weekend brunch, so i roamed on over to check it out. read the rest of my review at nooga.com! about these ads share this: email

my biggest piece of advice for foodworksbrunch(served both saturday & sunday) is to get there early or make reservations. the difference between 11:05 and 11:10 can be a 45 minute wait for a table - but don't worry, you can have a mimosa while you wait.

best restaurant in chattanooga. first, let me say that i am not an employee or in anyway associated with foodworks or it's staff. i have been eating at food works for the past three years, and i have to honestly say that it is the tastiest restaurant in chattanooga. i consider myself a connoisseur of flavorful food, and flashy restaurants, expensive menus, or overly decorated entrees do nothing to impress me if the food isn't good. the thing i love about foodworks is that i don't have to worry if it will be good "this time." i have tried most everything on the menu, and my favorite is the fillet, cooked medium, with boursin cheese on the side, the yukon gold mashed potatoes and the red braised cabbage! i crave it all week, and it's only $21! this is the only restaurant in chattanooga that can cook a truly medium steak. it is perfect every time! their meat lasagna is better than another local restaurant favorite, and their saturday and sundaybrunchare to die for! the julie darling donut bacon egg and swiss sandwich is out of this world, and don't get me started on the fried chicken and praline pecan waffles! the portion sizes are very generous, and the pricing is about the same as your average run of the mill chain restaurant. they also have a pretty good rewards program where you can earn free meals. i could go on, but if you are like me and you demand tasty food in exchange for your hard earned money, you won't be disappointed!! if you want expensive, tiny portioned food that you can't pronounce served in a pretentious atmosphere, then go somewhere else.

great sunday brunch!. my boyfriend and i have sundaybrunchat the bar as often as we can. the bartenders are friendly and prompt, the mimosas are wonderful, and the food is always good. getting a seat is usually the only issue.

been there once. went forbrunchone sunday, still wish we hadn't. the only dish i remember was the variation on biscuits and gravy. i think there was country ham alleged to be involved in this dish but the only flavor i remember is burnt, both biscuits and ham.

gotten better. for a while, this place was hit of miss, but as of late it seems to be much better. their apps are solid if not great (mmm, shrimp fritters) and the main courses were pretty good. the drink menu is extensive as is their beer selection. the ambiance is good. the last time i went, i did have to wait for a little bit even though i had a reservation, but that is a rarity. i hear theirbrunchis good although i have not been.

what works. what doesn't.. my husband and i first tried food works forbrunchon our anniversary. i ordered the steak & eggs benedict. my husband ordered the crabcake & eggs benedict. both were wonderful, but i thought mine was outstanding. we also ordered bloody mary's that had just the right amount of kick. we loved it so much we came back for dinner and were served by the bartender, who was very hospitable. the food was good. however, i must say thebrunchwas more enjoyable. the next time we went was for my birthday. i had high hopes of eating the steak & eggs benedict again. however, i was sad to see it was taken off of the menu. we sat at a table near the bar and was served by another bartender. she was completely rude and hateful. she rushed us to order, didn't bring us the bread we requested and didn't offer to refill our drinks. she even yelled at a customer for asking if he could borrow one our chairs for his party. it was embarrassing. her attitude alone makes me question if it's worth going back.
