wow wow wow wow wow...can you say amazing ????. had dinner at flounders with friends and it was incredible. from the cleanliness, to the wait staff , the drinks , the starters , the meal , the dessert...wow, just wow!!! we started out with a dozen oysters and they were top notch. wife had the chicken basket and i had the grilled fish tacos, and we ended with the most amazing piece of key lime pie that i've ever laid eyes on...big enough piece for 4 adults and i'm not kidding. the atmosphere, food , drinks and whole experience made for a wonderful evening. this is certainly one of the best spots on the beach

great for a family with small children. decided to head to flounders with a friend during spring break with all three of my children (under age of 8). seated us next to the playground, and my older two were in elated that they didn't have to sit and wait on the food. fried green bean appetizer was yummy along with the garlic dipping sauce. i only ordered a salad at this time, but will be glad to write another review when i've sampled more of their menu.

we stopped in for a light lunch. great atmosphere! it overlooks the bay which made it very relaxing. we had the strawberry margaritas with the spicy tuna and the volcano sushi rolls. everything was very good!!

mediocre. i guess you don't go to flounders only for the food, which is a good thing, b/c it's only ok. and it's overpriced. it has a nice playground for the kids. that's about the best thing i can say for it. i have heard from several people that seafood nachos is the dish to get. i've never tried it but i hope it's better than the rest of the menu.

great service with mediocre food. we had just arrived in pensacol beach. starving and looking for somehting good to eat. we landed accross the street from our hotel at flounders. we had the 'flash fried" fish and fries. well the slaw was not to my liking since they use lemon pepper in it. however, the fish and fries were ok. pina colada (for $8.99) in a collectable flounders glass was delisiouc, yet a little over priced. service was awsome. wait staff curteous and even assisted a couple find a local pharmacy. glasses of water and tea never went dry. our waiter really made up for the lack of pizzaz in the food.

atmosphere great, food - stay away from the nachos. this is not the place for veggies. guys i ended up getting the nachos and there just was something going wrong in that mountain of chips, cheese and peppers. we, my friends and i, marveled at the amount of food but quickly realized there was no way we'd finish. not because it was too much but because after the second bite your stomach starts to turn. this will happen the first night and the second so don't even think about it becoming leftovers.

i did like the atmosphere though, who wouldn't enjoy hundreds of lesbians in the night?

we were down on business and had the opportunity to dine at the flounders. the service was good and amazingly fast. we took the back entrance and found the atmosphere had a kind of campy, beachy feel with emphasis on boating and seafood. the menu was full of a good many choices for seafood lovers and land lubbers alike. our group of five started with several dozen raw and baked oysters which came out quick. the bar service was just a little slow but all orders were right. the beer was cold and the drinks were just right. if you like long island tea be sure and try the diesel fuel it will probably be the only drink you'll need.
for entrees we had the yellow fin tuna, stuffed flounder, and multiple shrimp boat platters. everything arrived within minutes of placing our order and it was fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked.

on my next trip to pensacola beach i'll be going back to flounders!

better than i remembered.. i confess that we have eaten here in the past, but to be honest it has been so long ago that i really can't remember when. we gave this place a try, because my sister in law wanted to give it a try as some of her friends had recommended it to her. the service was pretty good, the place is certainly a lot more open than i remembered, and the important part, the food was pretty good. i got the seafood nachos, and wound up sharing them with everyone, since it was so big. everyone was happy with there selections and all thought that it was pretty good. i actually don't remember the food being this good years ago. maybe we hit it at a good time, or they have gotten better. either way, i think that i will give them another try in the future.

i'll go with a "like". my other half had the tuna, overdone but tasty, we'll take the hit for that because we didn't specify but they shoulda asked. i had a bunch of appetizers, starting with the oysters on the half shell, nice meaty and briney, but then again you can't go wrong in that part of the country. then the calamari, not overly breaded, nicely spiced with plenty of the tentacle pieces... my favorite. then the clams... don't do it, all breading and no flavor. i also had a cup of flouner chowder, awesome! someone else had the fried flounder and that looked awesome too, nice thick cut like a good cod. didn't taste it but i could tell it was good by how it looked and how fast it was gone! great atmosphere, right by the gulf, good drinks (i had the diesel fuel). good service and good live music. i'd go back.

for kids only!. go to take your kids for dessert & let them wind down on the playground or just get a drink for yourself! i went here every year for a while, they had good food and atmosphere. last time i went was in sept of 2011 then we went last week may 2013.....what in the heck has happened?! sweet tea was excellent but sides were average and the actual seafood tastes like crap! flounder stuffed was horrible and stuffed with vegetables that did not compliment the fish at all! our server was great but that's about it. we will not return. go to peg leg's and save yourself the trouble.

arrived as happy hour was ending. ordered the stuffed flounder as it was recommended by usn brethren. after 90 minutes waiting i asked the bartender “am i waiting on flounder, stuffing or potatoes?” the bald manager told me that question was berating.

he said he would get me my order if i would wait for it (i thought i had). for my convenience he gave comped me one free beer.

won’t ever go into another mcguire’s restaurant again (mcguire’s owns flounders).

went across the street to a sports bars and ate the fish fry with a true american hero, mr pat.
