flounders chowder house

(in the voice of jeff spicoli) dude, fairly righteous cuisine. not so bad on the atmosphere, but woe to the man who expects a waiter to actually remember an order or a request for catsup!

firecracker shrimp and a couple of diesel fuels. great evening!

best dinner on the beach. flounders has it all.. great food. friendly, happy server. playground, beach volley ball, pier over the water, fire pit. happy kid = happy family.

great place to eat and neat atmosphere. kid's meals were a little skimpy, but they enjoyed themselves. fresh fish was good and service was excellent.

lunch at flounders. we had appetizers for lunch. although there are a few sandwiches available, there is no 'lunch' version of the menu. none the less, we forged ahead with parmesan baked oysters 15.99 and beer boiled peel and eat shrimp on ice 13.99 for a dozen each. our waiter richard, an older gentlemen, was upbeat, friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful. the parmesan baked oysters were delicious ! the beer boiled shrimp was truly boiled in beer with some mild spice & well chilled. they were very good. my dining companion and i chose two different versions of diesel fuel 9.99ea. i had the grateful dead, which is a raspberry version of long island ice tea. it had a great flavor and was not overly sweet. my companion had the mango madness which had good flavor as well, but was a little sweeter. this was a 32 oz souvenir jar full of long island ice tea, you'll leave with a buzz after just one.

it was not extremely busy, the service was excellent, and our waiter richard, came back to check on us several times. we found it to be a very enjoyable experience. the only downside: wish they had a 'lunch version' menu.

ribeye steak. great steaks!

rude waiter. took my in-laws who were here visiting from maryland. service was average, food was average. upon settling our check, our server kurt (sp), came back to our table and asked if the service was ok. we said yes and as he was walking away, he said "yeah and tipped less than 10%". i called him back and asked what he said. he then showed me the receipt and said "you tipped less than 10%". as a former server, i know this is a complete no no! average service gets an average tip.

great atmosphere for adults and kids; excellent food; don't sit at the picnic tables...they're rough on older people! have fun, it's a good restaurant!

meh.. not so great. our fried combo platter tasted like it was frozen shrimp and feozen oysters and had been re-heated several times before making it to our table. definitely over priced and not worth our money.

we also went on monday night and apparently they have some flounder fish club that is on the side with a buffet and they do a q & a on a microphone...so, don't plan on going on a monday if your gonna have to go.

our waitress was nice and attentive, so that was a plus. and the nachos we saw were humongous...

food on food on food!. holy cow this place gives you a lot of food! we sat outside with was nice right on the bay with a breeze! our waitress was great very helpful with any questions we had! i got a bowl of the chowder and it was fantastic! my wife on the seafood nachos with was the biggest plate of nachos i've ever seen! they were great though and i had a po boy with fries and it was good as well! we definitely felt like we were going to explode after leaving bc we ate so much! worth the stop with great drink specials early in the week!

food good. don't ask for non smoking, because it is in your face, and they do not care . with the food, you get lots of average fries.

it wasn't the best seafood ever but was pretty good. the environment was fun and the kids really enjoyed the volleyball. the service was quick and friendly.

this is by far the best restaurant i have been in while in pensacola. jim r was the greatest waiter there is!! the food was great!! thank you!!!!

great great great place, food is fantastic, our server was amazing ps his name is jim r. and the shrimp and andouille eggrolls to die for. my husband had the calamari and it was great. big portions. can't say enough good things

not impressed. bring your earplugs. you will need them. we had to get ours to go, it was way too loud and this was no live band!
food was ok, but oysters tasted funny. everything was spicy. we had to ask several times for tartar sauce, mayo, and ketchup.
chowder was great!
