fleet landing

visited charleston for a weekend trip and made it to fleet landing for lunch. brunch menu lookedgoodbut settled for salad with shrimp. delicious! wonderful service and food options. highly recommend.

watch out. the only thing you need to watch out for at this place is a blonde hostess she is a terrible person with a bad attitude other than that the food is reallygoodand the atmosphere is also very nice.

just had lunch here. service was excellent and so was the food. price was moderate and drinks were good. had the shrimp and grits. doesn't soundgoodbut they were delicious and i would order again. my husband had the crab cake sandwich which he said was very good. we can certainly recommend fleet landing.

spacious and tasty. we arrived at 4p as dinner was served at 430p.
we decided to have appetizers and drinks.
we had the crab cake- verygoodand wonderfully done crab. gumbo and sherry she crab soups were very good.

we liked the large, bright, clean space and waterfront views.
we were entertained by the folks on the deck getting attacked by birds- something to consider when dinning alfresco. haha

would consider a return for dinner.

glad this treasure of a building is put togooduse..... but, please, elevate the food just the teensiest bit. don't bother with the anemic dinner salad and more so, avoid the anemic bleu cheese dressing! i had the small plate blackened shrimp with the pimento grits. the shrimp were a bit tough (overcooked?) but those grits need to be a main course! delicious biscuits with honey butter and equally delicious hush puppies. terrific wine list as well. i would go back, to take tourists, for a fair togoodmeal - not a great meal.

mediocre. i have hadgoodmeals at fleet landing, but my most recent visit was very mediocre. crab stuffed oysters appetizer was bland. seared scallops had no flavor or "sear." crispy flounder was ok, but still required lemon to make it acceptable. waitress didn't care that we didn't finish anything and my plate was nearly untouched. she asked if i like it and i said "no" and explained the problems. she offered to bring something else, but they had already done poorly three times so i really didn't want more bland, mediocre food. maybe they had a bad night, but i'll think twice before returning.

3.5. had the fried green tomato blt. food was fresh but the fgt lacked the distinct tart flavor of agoodfgt. atmosphere was very nice with great views of the bay. staff was friendly and quick.

we were recommended this restaurant by someone we met while in charleston forgoodseafood. we were told this place did not need a reservation, so we didn't make one. upon arrival there was no parking so we parked in a nearby parking deck (no big deal we love to walk). once inside the wait was 30 minutes. i asked for a menu and was told there was not enough real, plastic ones so i could use a paper one; there was a fairly large stack of real ones though. immediately after i received a paper one, a man after me asked for a menu and the woman delightfully gave him a real one despite telling me there weren't any to give away, so you can take that as you will. after watching several families and couples go by with no wait, we grew impatient and left after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting. i personally was not impressed with the staff, wait time, and seating system at fleet landing. hopefully others will have better luck than us.

fast service (3pm). fish (encrusted cod) done to perfection.goodservice, reasonable serving size (no need to take a doggie bag home, but big enough). friendly folks.

great location on the water with outside seating if you prefer. shrimp and grits was terrific and my wife like the fried green tomato blt. verygoodfood. you'll like it. go here.

had the fried green tomato appetizer with crab dip. very good. the other in my party had fried flounder platter and was good. the shrimp and grits were ok, would have liked the shrimp to be larger and it bit more flavorful dish. grits weregoodand creamy. visited for lunch

great service. our dinner at fleet landing was verygoodas our server took excellent care of us and we didn't want for anything. the pre-meal biscuits with honey butter were delicious as was the creamy spinach and artichoke dip. the atlantic salmon was firm and did not have a "fishy" taste. the sides, mashed potatoes and red rice, were relatively average. the pasta was cooked correctly, tasted great and was a huge serving with carrots, yellow squash, broccoli, tomatoes, cheese, olive oil and pesto. all in all a very enjoyable dining experience.

terrible rude hostess. i made a reservation for 5. when we arrived, the hostess informed us they don't accept reservations for parties of 5. only ones for 4 and 6 or more. how ridiculous! were forced to sit in a 4 seat booth with a chair squeezed in. servings were small and prices were high. food wasgoodthough. will not go back again.

best shrimp and grits ever!. fleet landing has the best view in charleston harbor. the place is always busy and the food is very good.
they have the best, most creamy, fluffy grits that i have found. the shrimp and grits are heavenly.
their triggerfish sandwich is verygoodas is their flounder. i have never had a wait.
the service is about average for a restaurant near the cruise terminal. not terrible, but busy.
everyone we have taken there was impressed.

went on a dinner date with my girlfriend had many people say howgoodit was so decide to try it out. made reservations and when we got to the host stand the two ladies stared at me waiting for me to say something and didnt greet me. once we sat down and waited for a table saw 6-7 people come in after with no reservation sit down before me. while waiting went to the bar to get a drink and tried to get two daiquiris and the bartender said they don't make frozen drinks. hour later we finally got our table outside on the side deck on plastic chairs. then we ordered blue crab dip which was mediocre and the crackers they served with it was awful. as we got our main course it was nothing special. actually we could of gone down just a 2 miles from our house and got cheaper better seafood. defiantly not worth the price you pay. interior of the restaurant was awful (booths looked like something from a old 50s diner) for the money you drop there expected better looking interior designs. management non exist also. it is very frustrating to me because i live a hour away and my hopes of this place were high because of everyone saying howgoodit was and it was not what i was expecting at all. experience i won't forget and i definitely won't be recommending this place or going back.
