pretty goodshrimpand fried gouda grits (though they claim spicy & it was not spicy but still good. they absolutely nailed the nola style bbq shrimp. messy but worth it. limited beer selection & it's not much to look at beside the overpass but the food is great and staff is sweet.

stopped by for lunch after morning golf on a sunday afternoon. they were serving a brunch menu. we ordered gumbo and the spicy shrimp/oysters for appetizers. gumbo ingredients were good but the gumbo tasted as if the roux has been burned. but the concept was on point. the spicy oysters were my favorite of the two (we did half and half). i got theshrimpand grits and i hands down would order this again. flavor and textures were great. i got mine spicy and it had just the right amount of heat note. other members of the party got the bbqshrimpand fried seafood "salad". the bbqshrimpwere rich with flavor but tough to peel. the salad is like a seafood basket on greens. enjoyed the batter and the variety. wait staff was great. logan did a great job. will be on the beach food list for us. small spot and menu seems to vary gotten to make each visit a little different

best food during our vacation. three of us had lunch on sat and the food was amazing. the grilled shrimp, done without butter due to a dietary necessity was the bestshrimpi've had all week. one in the group had theshrimpand grits and said they would order it again, even tho they aren't a "grits" person. the other meal was a crawfish po'boy and sweet potato fires that was great. the fried cheesecake was unique and very good. our waiter, jacob, provided us with outstanding service and made sure that all dietary needs were met. have recommended this restaurant to others. it is one place you want people to know about so they stay in business, but don't want it to get so big that you can't get a table!

bad. i had ashrimppoboy and it was horrible. it was not even close to the menu description - there was nothing on it except lettuce and raw tomatoes. the tomatoes were supposed to be oven roasted and there was supposed to be creole remoulade as well. there was no sauce at all, apart from the grease theshrimphad been fried in that had soaked into the doughy, chewy bread. gross.

not bad, prices are pretty fair. a group of 4 of us had dinner there last night. my son, husband, and a colleague all loved it and said it was delicious. i felt it was "okay" .we all had some form of shrimp. blackened, fried, or grilled. it was very very salty. the bbqshrimpappetizer was not bbq at all. it was some form of grilled with a butter and spice sauce. i had hoped for bbq sauce but whatever. the bread pudding is excellent and the cajun mac n cheese side was too. don't let the raggedy exterior fool you, this place was a "dockside" fishing cafe and overall pretty good. just wish that the food was less salty. my husband and son who are quite picky both can't wait to try it again!

food: okay. service: terrible. my hubby and i are on vacation. it rained most of the day today and we were experiencing "cabin fever”...so, we wanted to venture out for dinner. after reading many of the posted reviews on urbanspoon, i suggested that we try fisherman’s corner. the outside of the restaurant was what i expected it to be (an older mobile home/bait-n-tackle shack). upon entering, we were greeted by a sullen hostess, who asked if we wanted to sit inside or “on the patio.” we decided to sit "on the patio”, which was a mistake because it wasn’t really a “patio.” it was an enclosed deck...and all of the windows were closed. to make matters worse, the fans were off and there was no air conditioning; it felt like a sauna (outdoor dining in may...in florida = open the windows, please). we waited several minutes before our server, theresa, appeared and asked what we would like to drink. we each requested ice water...and waited. and waited. and waited...no theresa, no ice water. about 10 minutes after requesting our ice waters, theresa finally emerged...and had a laughter-filled conversation with the patrons at the table behind us. finally, she asked if we were ready to order. i asked again (as politely as possible) if we could please have some ice water first (we were in a sauna, remember). she mumbled something and walked away. several more minutes passed before theresa delivered our ice waters. we placed our order (hubs orderedshrimplinguini, i ordered the bronzed chicken) and waited. i knew from reading other reviews that we would likely be in for a good wait. i was right...and that’s fine; good food takes time, right about 20 minutes later theresa delivered our entrees. both entrees looked appetizing, although i must point out that they were enormous...and that's not necessarily a good thing, considering the fact that they were expensive and bland. my husband’s linguini ($18.00) was presented in the form of a huge pasta mound, which appeared to be large enough to feed 4 people. my bronzed chicken came with 3 breast cutlets and 2 sides (what?!?!?). thankfully, i ordered a salad as one of those sides, bringing our total to just under $42.00. at some point during our meal, theresa stopped by and stated that she would, “be right back with some more water.” again, we waited several minutes, with no sign of theresa. after both our glasses were totally empty, i flagged down another table’s server and apologetically asked for more water (which was delivered right away). several minutes later, theresa finally came by with a pitcher of water. regarding the excessive size of the entrees...perhaps they should consider lowering prices by $5.00-or--$6.00 in addition to cutting the portion sizes (at least!) in half. overall, the food was somewhat tasty, but certainly not worth the price. the service was absolutely, completely unacceptable. i doubt we’ll be back...

just exceptional! after several trips to this restaurant over many beach vacations, we continue to enjoy eating here. we look forward to our favorites on the menu each time that we go. theshrimpand grits are epic. the grits are deep fried into balls with a yummy crust. the sauce that comes with them is outstanding. theshrimpis cooked perfectly. and the portion size is huge. it is enough for two. the bbqshrimpis also a favorite. it's cooked perfectly, not at all dry and not too spicy. just right. the fresh catch is always wonderful and also a great choice. also recommend is the pasta cioppino. it's very good here and not something that many chefs in the area even have available on their menu. another thing we look forward to here is good, friendly service. all-round wonderful restaurant!

i almost want to write a bad review so this gem stays our little secret! this hole in the wall is our favorite spot and has been for years. the chef is great and knows how to pair flavors! the place is small and fills up fast so there is normally a wait after 630, but it's well worth it! my favorite is the shrimpn grits!

food:  almost all fried.  the fish didn't have much flavoring.  this is a sign of an establishment that does not have the capability to actually cook something to make it edible so they just fry it all.  don't say frying everything down here is a regional specialty, because it's not.  the crab that came with the platter was intact.....and it was.....soggy.  yes, a whole crab that was soggy.  how does this happen?  i could not pull meat from this poor creature so in effect it died for nothing.  the shell was like wet paper.  mind boggling....a soggy crab.  the pasta andshrimpdish was so greasy that every bite was dripping what i determine to be butter.   the appetizer didn't mix well - fried green tomatoes are either fine by themselves or with ranch.  whatever they topped it with was not good - at all .

service:  meh.......it wasn't even busy during the time i was there and there was plenty of staff yet service left much to be desired.

ambiance:  has a coastal fishing shack feel which i liked.  non-pretentious and relaxed.  you can almost come right off the beach into the restaurant.

price: extremely overpriced for what was received.  my advice is to go deeper into pensacola (near palafox) for some truly wonderful dining options which are worth their expense without being over-priced.

bottom line:  for $70 between two people, i would expect much better food quality than what i received. service could have been a touch better.  the only reason this restaurant is: 1- still in business and 2- charges what it does is because of the touristy location and the fact that it is literally under a bridge..

worth the trip!. i ordered the seafood platter and best i ever had. seafood was fresh. the friedshrimpappetizer was awesome. will be going back. my friend had the sirloin with some kind of crab sauce that was delicious. serving size are rather large and we ended up taking half home for later. service was good and manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our liking.

disappointed. i have eaten at fishermans corner many times during different trips to the beach. i was most disappointed the other night when we dined at fc. i don't think the frying oil had been changed in quite some time. the onion rings and friedshrimpwere greasy and that was the first time that was the first time that had happened.
