wow, what a "hole in the wall"placethat's off the beaten path. the wife and i arrived around 5 and the wait was around 30 minutes. i thought about leaving because i was hungry but glad we stayed. we got the fried green tomatoes (see pic), creole linguini (see pic) and red snapper and grits (see pic). the food was full of flavor and we couldn't even finish. two thumbs up.

best food during our vacation. three of us had lunch on sat and the food was amazing. the grilled shrimp, done without butter due to a dietary necessity was the best shrimp i've had all week. one in the group had the shrimp and grits and said they would order it again, even tho they aren't a "grits" person. the other meal was a crawfish po'boy and sweet potato fires that was great. the fried cheesecake was unique and very good. our waiter, jacob, provided us with outstanding service and made sure that all dietary needs were met. have recommended this restaurant to others. it is oneplaceyou want people to know about so they stay in business, but don't want it to get so big that you can't get a table!

not bad, prices are pretty fair. a group of 4 of us had dinner there last night. my son, husband, and a colleague all loved it and said it was delicious. i felt it was "okay" .we all had some form of shrimp. blackened, fried, or grilled. it was very very salty. the bbq shrimp appetizer was not bbq at all. it was some form of grilled with a butter and spice sauce. i had hoped for bbq sauce but whatever. the bread pudding is excellent and the cajun mac n cheese side was too. don't let the raggedy exterior fool you, thisplacewas a "dockside" fishing cafe and overall pretty good. just wish that the food was less salty. my husband and son who are quite picky both can't wait to try it again!

i would return, but only for the bread pudding, and only if i could get it to go....
the setting was not at all what we expected. it is basically a shed/mobile home with a covered wooden deck extension. we were seated on the wooden deck at a table with two lawn chairs and two mismatched dining chairs. throughout the entire meal we were attacked by fruit flies.
my food was good, i got the special of the day (a seared tuna steak), however, other members of our party were not very thrilled with their choices from the regular menu. long story short, i would go to an actual “fine dining” restaurant and swing by thisplaceto pick up a bread pudding on your way home!

i almost want to write a bad review so this gem stays our little secret! this hole in the wall is our favorite spot and has been for years. the chef is great and knows how to pair flavors! theplaceis small and fills up fast so there is normally a wait after 630, but it's well worth it! my favorite is the shrimp n grits!

excuses !. we thought we would try the fisherman's corner.. walking in we were greeted by brent who kept us waiting at the door making excuses about the bench seating being uncomfortable and the looks of the building from outside...fix the seats and throw some paint on the outside...simple ! brent talked our ears off about how great the food was, and that all of the snowbirds eat there...well maybe that's because eating there beats driving trying to look for a restrauant. i ordered the parmesan chicken and there was no parmesan on the plate, the angel hair pasta was starchy and stuck together, and no bread or roll was offered.. my husband had two large pieces of bread with his oysters..so he offered me one of his bread slices...we weren't that impressed with the food, and will pass thisplaceby on the way to the beach...
with the food, and will

love it!. this is definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover" kind of place. i'll admit pulling in to thisplacei was concerned. i walked in and i was still a little concerned, but they had white table cloths so it can't be too bad right? the food was absolutely amazing...worth the 30min wait. it's a tinyplaceand very popular so i recommend reservations even during the week. it was so good i went back a week later when i had guests visiting from out of town.
the seafood was incredibly fresh. unfortunately they didn't have crab cakes when i went back the second time, but i respect the fact that they don't serve you something that isn't freshly caught...the crab cakes are delicious. having come from the d.c. area i'm spoiled by maryland blue crab cake expectations even though i'm in pensacola. i've been really let down on more than one occasion since moving here, but they did not disappoint. a lot of crab and not a lot of breading/fillers...perfect. steak was done perfectly and the bread pudding was equally perfect...that's another popular dessert item in the gulf and for some reason restaurants think they can't screw it up, but they do; just because it's simple to make does not mean the flavor should be simple; it's a popular thing to make with stale bread, but it tastes like it when you do. i've had bricks of bread pudding and i've had melt in your mouth bread pudding...fisherman's is melt in your mouth. can't wait to go back...favorite restaurant in the area hands down.

visitor from nashville. thisplacewas recommended by a friend of my in-laws. we vacation down here every year and always have fun trying new places. my review is has pros and cons. the other reviews are right, in that theplacelooks like a hole in the wall on the exterior. however, the food is delicious. my husband and i shared a fried shrimp wrap and the shrimp & grits. both were seasoned perfectly, although i wasn't crazy about the grits being fried. he also had gumbo, which he thought was outstanding. we finished with the bread pudding which had a brown sugar crust on the top. we gobbled it up. the cons were that theplacewas hot and uncomfortable the entire time we were there. most everyone in our party were sweating by the time we left. not sure why this was, but we weren't happy about it. the waitress also informed us that since they don't own warming lights, the food comes out at different times. that is a bit awkward, as no one wants to start eating before others are served, but you almost have to so your own food won't get cold waiting. not sure why a successful restaurant can't buy some warming lights. our desserts were all even served at different times. it was a busy night, but our server forgot a beer for a member of our party and forgot what others had to drink for refills. two entrees weren't placed in front of the right person and had to be switched. we had a party of six, so i didn't think it would be so confusing. so, while we thoroughly enjoyed our food, i'm not sure it was worth being uncomfortable and eating at different times than others at the table.

excellent, again. saturday evening in pk with a little time and a lot of hunger is a good reason to head over to fisherman's corner. i took my date to one of our favorite places, and again, was not disappointed. she had the fresh grouper, seasonal vegetables, and mixed green salad, all of which were really good. i was thinking of a hamburger (i know, it's a seafood place, but the burgers are good!) and enjoyed every bite. this is a small, unpretentious place, that serves great food. i was told by the good folks of flora-bama, "go here, it's where the locals eat", and i have been coming ever since. we ask for clay as a waiter whenever possible, to make the visit perfect. these are good folks serving good food at a good price. it's my ace in the hole when it has to be right. good job, fc.

okay, that was fantastic!. i took my date to fc for the first time on a lazy late summer evening. i have heard good things about thisplacefor quite a while (recommendations from several locals), so i figured it was time to find out for myself what all the buzz was about. i have eaten at most of the best restaurants in pk, but truth be told, this was the best of the best i have had so far. i selected the shrimp and grits for my entrée, which consisted of a large ball of grits and gouda cheese, deep-fried and surrounded by a succulent sauce and namesake seafood. absolutely terrific. my date had the seafood platter--a generous offering of oysters, blue crab, fresh mahi and something else i can't remember at the moment (no laughing, as one day you will be 50 years old, or more!). anyway, this selection was also really, really good. the food was very fresh, well prepared, and attractively presented. the caesar salad, which accompanied the dish, was quite good, with homemade dressing shining brightly. the bread that came with the meal was good, but not great. for this i am quite thankful, as it kept me from overindulging before the meal arrived. and speaking of overindulging, if you go, order the bread pudding. a dessert aficionado i am not, but i know something delicious when i taste it, and man, was this stuff ever good.. the service was also terrific, which can make or break the deal for me. i had several special needs, which were gladly accommodated, and a smiling, happy staff kept the evening enjoyable. if you have seen my other reviews, you know i am not a restaurant pimp, but indeed quite willing to spill the beans if i'm not pleased with my dining experience. perhaps my next meal here will flounder (that was a little funny, admit it), but for now, you can color me a very happy customer. i will pass along the recommendations as long as they keep up the good work. try it, and if you don't agree with my assessment, write a review!

don't waste your time here.. i have been hearing about thisplacehere on urbanspoon now for a while, and finally had to opportunity to eat here saturday. some of the other reviewers stated that they had experienced long waits, but we went in the off hours and were seated immediately. that was probably the highlight, i just did not realize it. both my wife and i were in the mood for some good fried crawfish tails, but it was not to be. they apparently fry them for po-boys but do not offer a fried crawfish tails plate. we started out with the fried green tomatos, that seem to be highly recommended. being from the south and raised on fried green tomatos, i will say that this was the strangest i had ever had. they were not cooked crisp as they should be, and them soaked down in some kind of weird sauce. soggy fried green tomatos are not very appetizing. i finally decided on the fried crawfish po-boy, because, i was craving some good fried crawfish. my wife got the fried oysters. the oyster were fairly good, but the fried crawfish were cremated, not cooked. it doesn't take long to cook a crawfish tail, apparently something the cooks here haven't figured out. theplaceis small, located under the bridge going to the island, so it is easy to miss. maybe it should be missed a little more. i try to give honest reviews, and all i can say if some of the good reviews are accurate, them i assume that we went at a very bad time. either way, there are too many good seafood restaurants in the area to mess around with mediocre food. we do not plan on a return visit here.

not as good as they say but better than many. i wouldn't be so quick to rate thisplace4s and 5s as the rest of the reviewers unless they are comparing it to, say, triggers or shrimp basket as it is definitely a step above those. the shrimp is deveined....always a plus and used in a corn and shrimp chowder it was nice. the gumbo received a "best ever" from another at our table and the fried green tomatoes and crab-stuffed mushrooms were delicious. we selected appetizers only because they were out of grouper (sadly as many places are these days). our server was friendly but the guy at the door was as dry as a popcorn fart.
