wow, what a "hole in the wall" place that's off the beaten path. the wife and i arrived around 5 and the wait was around 30 minutes. i thought about leaving because i was hungry but glad we stayed. we got the fried green tomatoes (see pic), creole linguini (see pic) and red snapper andgrits(see pic). the food was full of flavor and we couldn't even finish. two thumbs up.

pretty good shrimp and fried goudagrits(though they claim spicy & it was not spicy but still good. they absolutely nailed the nola style bbq shrimp. messy but worth it. limited beer selection & it's not much to look at beside the overpass but the food is great and staff is sweet.

stopped by for lunch after morning golf on a sunday afternoon. they were serving a brunch menu. we ordered gumbo and the spicy shrimp/oysters for appetizers. gumbo ingredients were good but the gumbo tasted as if the roux has been burned. but the concept was on point. the spicy oysters were my favorite of the two (we did half and half). i got the shrimp andgritsand i hands down would order this again. flavor and textures were great. i got mine spicy and it had just the right amount of heat note. other members of the party got the bbq shrimp and fried seafood "salad". the bbq shrimp were rich with flavor but tough to peel. the salad is like a seafood basket on greens. enjoyed the batter and the variety. wait staff was great. logan did a great job. will be on the beach food list for us. small spot and menu seems to vary gotten to make each visit a little different

best food during our vacation. three of us had lunch on sat and the food was amazing. the grilled shrimp, done without butter due to a dietary necessity was the best shrimp i've had all week. one in the group had the shrimp andgritsand said they would order it again, even tho they aren't a "grits" person. the other meal was a crawfish po'boy and sweet potato fires that was great. the fried cheesecake was unique and very good. our waiter, jacob, provided us with outstanding service and made sure that all dietary needs were met. have recommended this restaurant to others. it is one place you want people to know about so they stay in business, but don't want it to get so big that you can't get a table!

been here twice. both times the food and service were worth the weekend wait. the special of the day is always good, the shrimp and goudagritsis delicious, and the bread pudding with whiskey sauce is incredible. don't miss this place!

just exceptional! after several trips to this restaurant over many beach vacations, we continue to enjoy eating here. we look forward to our favorites on the menu each time that we go. the shrimp andgritsare epic. thegritsare deep fried into balls with a yummy crust. the sauce that comes with them is outstanding. the shrimp is cooked perfectly. and the portion size is huge. it is enough for two. the bbq shrimp is also a favorite. it's cooked perfectly, not at all dry and not too spicy. just right. the fresh catch is always wonderful and also a great choice. also recommend is the pasta cioppino. it's very good here and not something that many chefs in the area even have available on their menu. another thing we look forward to here is good, friendly service. all-round wonderful restaurant!

excellent service for appetizers (frog legs and marinated crab claws) and great entrées of blackened grouper topped with shrimp on a bed of mashed red taters, and the shrimp andgrits... which were on point!

don't waste your money.. the service was great here, but the food not so much. we tried the gumbo, corn chowder, shrimp and grits, and crawfish burger. the soups and shrimp &gritspretty much all tasted like gravy. burger was salty. expensive, subpar food. take a drive into one of the neighboring towns for some great seafood instead of this place.

visitor from nashville. this place was recommended by a friend of my in-laws. we vacation down here every year and always have fun trying new places. my review is has pros and cons. the other reviews are right, in that the place looks like a hole in the wall on the exterior. however, the food is delicious. my husband and i shared a fried shrimp wrap and the shrimp & grits. both were seasoned perfectly, although i wasn't crazy about thegritsbeing fried. he also had gumbo, which he thought was outstanding. we finished with the bread pudding which had a brown sugar crust on the top. we gobbled it up. the cons were that the place was hot and uncomfortable the entire time we were there. most everyone in our party were sweating by the time we left. not sure why this was, but we weren't happy about it. the waitress also informed us that since they don't own warming lights, the food comes out at different times. that is a bit awkward, as no one wants to start eating before others are served, but you almost have to so your own food won't get cold waiting. not sure why a successful restaurant can't buy some warming lights. our desserts were all even served at different times. it was a busy night, but our server forgot a beer for a member of our party and forgot what others had to drink for refills. two entrees weren't placed in front of the right person and had to be switched. we had a party of six, so i didn't think it would be so confusing. so, while we thoroughly enjoyed our food, i'm not sure it was worth being uncomfortable and eating at different times than others at the table.

the service has gotten so bad that we have quit going here. if you are in a hurry don't even try it. no warmth for locals as in the early days when they would move heaven and earth to quickly seat and dote on devoted natives. well the honeymoon is over, the tourists can have it.

best food in pensacola!!!!. the west side has a new jewel in her crown!
fisherman's corner has completely changed course as of january, 2011 under the brilliance and integrity of jim green and his extremely talented team of chefs! my husband and i heard through the grapevine that exciting things were happening at this formerly pitiful frozen food hole in the wall and went to check it out for ourselves---oh my heavens! divine! scrumptious! the best!!!! our first visit this week (yes, we had to return for another taste 2 days later) between the two of us we sampled the calamari (deemed the "best i ever had" by my husband---very lightly breaded, huge and meaty. i tried some too, and i even liked them and i don't even like calamari) and the fried green tomatoes. the fried green tomatoes are served in a yummy stack stuffed with thick creamy slices of dreamy melted mozzerella and topped with a really flavorful crawfish sauce. reeaaallly good. my squeeze had the fried oyster dinner with loaded baked potato (which to his delight was perfectly cooked with crispy skin, and clearly had never spent a single moment in a steamer) and it was so yummy he went back for seconds on dinner #2. my entree on evening #1 was the fish taco. i have heard of fish tacos and thought it sounded kind of gross, but finally curiosity forced me to take the plunge. let me describe: perfectly fried, juicy tender morsels of grouper, the thinnest ribbons of lightly seasoned coleslaw, a flavorful mix of black beans and corn and just enough sour cream to bind it all together wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. it was light, fresh and really delightful! it was also huge---took 1/2 of it home and zapped it in the microwave for lunch the next day---still yummy! on our second visit we also sampled the cajun mac and cheese (moans of pleasure) and i had the shrimp and grits. oh, baby! you have got to try the shrimp and grits! huge shrimp perfectly cooked swimming in the creamiest sauce was the perfect complement to the enormous super crisp ball of fried cheesegritsserved in the center of it all---i had to take a picture. there are no words. . . i'm in love. that's all i can tell you. run to this place. go now! throw lots of money at them, if they ever go out of business i will just have to sit down and cry. oh, man. . . almost forgot to mention the gumbo: the most amazing roux i've ever put in my mouth filled with super fresh ingredients. full of groceries. perfection. the wait staff is awesome too---great service, very upbeat girls, really friendly and sharp. great personalities, very knowledgable and eager to please. kudos! five stars all across the board. very reasonable prices, too!

excellent, again. saturday evening in pk with a little time and a lot of hunger is a good reason to head over to fisherman's corner. i took my date to one of our favorite places, and again, was not disappointed. she had the fresh grouper, seasonal vegetables, and mixed green salad, all of which were really good. i was thinking of a hamburger (i know, it's a seafood place, but the burgers are good!) and enjoyed every bite. this is a small, unpretentious place, that serves great food. i was told by the good folks of flora-bama, "go here, it's where the locals eat", and i have been coming ever since. we ask for clay as a waiter whenever possible, to make the visit perfect. these are good folks serving good food at a good price. it's my ace in the hole when it has to be right. good job, fc.

okay, that was fantastic!. i took my date to fc for the first time on a lazy late summer evening. i have heard good things about this place for quite a while (recommendations from several locals), so i figured it was time to find out for myself what all the buzz was about. i have eaten at most of the best restaurants in pk, but truth be told, this was the best of the best i have had so far. i selected the shrimp andgritsfor my entrée, which consisted of a large ball ofgritsand gouda cheese, deep-fried and surrounded by a succulent sauce and namesake seafood. absolutely terrific. my date had the seafood platter--a generous offering of oysters, blue crab, fresh mahi and something else i can't remember at the moment (no laughing, as one day you will be 50 years old, or more!). anyway, this selection was also really, really good. the food was very fresh, well prepared, and attractively presented. the caesar salad, which accompanied the dish, was quite good, with homemade dressing shining brightly. the bread that came with the meal was good, but not great. for this i am quite thankful, as it kept me from overindulging before the meal arrived. and speaking of overindulging, if you go, order the bread pudding. a dessert aficionado i am not, but i know something delicious when i taste it, and man, was this stuff ever good.. the service was also terrific, which can make or break the deal for me. i had several special needs, which were gladly accommodated, and a smiling, happy staff kept the evening enjoyable. if you have seen my other reviews, you know i am not a restaurant pimp, but indeed quite willing to spill the beans if i'm not pleased with my dining experience. perhaps my next meal here will flounder (that was a little funny, admit it), but for now, you can color me a very happy customer. i will pass along the recommendations as long as they keep up the good work. try it, and if you don't agree with my assessment, write a review!

outstanding on 10/15/13. i had the blackened grouper with a side of asparagus and the spouse had redfish on a bed ofgritsand greens. well done. service was prompt and attentive, but not intrusive. domestics are $3 and imports $4.

fried green tomato appetizer was very well done with layers of mozzarella in between the tomatoes and topped with a crawfish creole sauce.

finish it up with the bread pudding and you won't be disappointed. it's a very good bread pudding topped with praline pecans and a sugary bourbon sauce.

the restaurant isn't much to look at, but the food more than makes up for it. appetizer, three cerveza's, two entree's and a shared bread pudding put us at the century mark (including tip).

don't let your gps fool you; take the service road at the foot of the canal bridge and fc is about a quarter mile down on the right.

we eat here about once a month and its always good. had our first bad experience a few weeks ago. went again tonight and it was good again. had the grouper special which was delicious. friends had the shrimp andgritsand the shrimp po boy. everybody was happy. only problem was our friends got their food and my husband and i waited another five minutes for our meals to arrive. not a huge problem, but still.... if the small kitchen is the problem, enlarge it!

excellent food! we have been many times and have never been disappointed. service has always been very good. my only complaint would be the long wait if you go after 6:00pm without a reservation. and you better call four or five days ahead for a weekend night. they're that crowded because they're that good!

three letters. omg!! we re.... three letters. omg!!
we read some reviews about this whole in the wall so we waited the 2 hour wait and boy was it worth the wait. i ordered the shrimp and crawfish linguine; the saw was so rich and flavorful i had to push the crawfish and shrimp aside because the linguine noodles and sauce was sooo delish. my husband ordered the shrimp andgritsand favorite at home and wow!! it was amazing! he could not stop eating it. portions were huge, the complimentary rolls were so good. staff was amazing and friendly. i recommend going early because they ran out of a lot of items before we were seated. casual dining. patio and indoor seating. 10 out of 10, 5 stars!!!
