good food, but not inexpensive. ate for my firsttimeat fish bones last night. the food was good, the service outstanding.

we started with a bahamian fish dip appetizer. nice smoky flavor, very good.

for dinner i had the mixed grill: a grilled piece of grouper, nicely done; a piece salmon grilled to perfection, and the scampi shrimp and scallops. the scallops and shrimp were cooked just right. the scampi was just average, thought. and i had one or two pieces of shrimp that were not properly dressed--that is, some shell that should have been removed had not been. i found this lack of attention to this detail to be a bit annoying.

dinner was accompanied by some mixed veggies and some orzo. the mixed veggies were ok, maybe a bit overcooked. the orzo though was downright pasty. definitnely undercooked, or not cooked right.

the service we received from brandon was outstanding. he was very attentive to all our needs, checked back often, and explained everything to us in great detail. rarely have i had service that good.

so, overall, service was tops! grilled fish was excellent. scampi was just ok, nothing special. orzo was not very good. a mixed experience, but i'd eat here again....brandon won me over on that point.

definitely recommend. amazing food everything just so perfect and delicious. great service they are so friendly and know what they doing. nice and modern interior. price fair because that's great and fresh products. totally be back when nexttimewisit orlando

lack of competition in the area has made them complacent. i'll agree with the reviewers that the ambience is great but that's where the the accolades i feel stop. we came in approximately 10pm and with restaurant less than half full it still took a solid 10 min to get a seating. i dont mind waiting, but if you plan to take sometimewhy not guide us to the bar and let us know when the table is ready? my entree, lamb chops, were lukewarm at best; by thetimei got to the last 2 they were stone cold. i ordered garlic parmeasan fries which were refired (maybe from another order) and unfortunately were lukewarm. we ate 1 a piece and left the rest. my app the gator meat was good, ceaser salad was on point. all told approximately $100 per person and nothing great to boot. nexttimei'll play it safe and head back to shula's or ruth chris across the street.

good experience.  took fedex edm team.  had the chilean sea bass.  ahi tuna, shrimp cocktail and sampler app.  ambience was good.  nexttimeneed to eat on the patio

gone down hill.... got rid of "sushi sunday", happy hour options aren't as great, food although still priced high is now average tasting and made, and most if all? the service outside is just bad. but hey, it's orlando that's kind if normal here...this place was one of my favorites up until this past year. sad to see it go down like this.

excellent!. went to fishbones in lake mary for the firsttimetonight and was very impressed. a much more elegant atmosphere than i expected. the two beautiful aquariums were a nice touch.

i ordered bleu cheese chips as an appetizer and had the ribeye for dinner w/ bleu cheese mashed potato - both were fantastic.

the service at the bar and in the dining room was top notch (very attentive, yet not overbearing)! i would definitely recommend fishbones in lake mary to anyone!!!

over it. have been to fish bones dozens of times. obviously it is now under new management and that is not a good thing. went in to celebrate our 44th anniversary tonight and was very disappointed. we were seated right away - not a good sign for a not full restaurant. waitress never asked if we wanted anything from the bar, did not introduce herself . we asked for drinks and were immediately asked for our order. i ordered the florida duck. when it arrived it was not even able to be sliced ... it was hard as plastic. it was taken away and i opted out of. replacement. we were then served our check ... no offer of dessert or after dinner drinks. very disappointing and not what we were used to at this eatery. it will be a longtimebefore we darken these doors again.

best steak ever!. my husband has always said eat what ever the restaurants specialty is, however neither of us are seafood people. but, i have always wanted to dine there because the decor and ambiance is amazing. not one detail left out. we both ordered a steak and were shocked at the quality and perfection it was cooked. we thought it was a fluke and didnt go back for a year, afraid it wouldn't be the same and we didn't want to ruin the memory. we've gone 10 times since and eachtimewas the same perfection. we've dined at the best chop houses and nothing compares.

terrible experience. stop!! dont waste yourtimeand money!! this is nothing more than a glorified red lobster! dined on 7/10/2013 for my husbands birthday. following is our impression of our dining experience:

ambience/decor: fail! - felt like we were walking into a banquet hall.
food: fail!
lobster bisque - worst we have ever had - predominantely tasted like flour.
salads with goat cheese dressing - just ok.
stuffed black grouper ($40 dish) - horrible, fish was not cooked through, just awful from presentation of the dish to taste. really you dare serve this for $40?
aged steak; meh definately not worth the money.

manager offered to bring me another entree (so i waited while my husband continued eating his dinner alone) - i requested the stuffed shrimp and scallops but that is not what i received. i was too disgusted to even let her know that this was the wrong dish. i was given what i think was the shrimp and scallop scampi - i've had better at a fridays!

during thistimeour waitress simply disappeared - we sat with our dirty dishes in front of us for over 15 minutes.

if you want a great meal and great service try terramia brick oven pizza in the same strip mall - great service and great food. wish i had taken my husband to terramia for his birthday,

good firsttimeout. my husband and i ate at fishbones with my in-laws last night (firsttimefor all 4 of us), and we enjoyed our experience as well as the food. some of us had the caesar salad to start, others had the specialty salad-- both very good, tasted very fresh. we also enjoyed the blue chips as a starter. the cheese/garlic bread was very tasty, too. my husband and i split the 10 oz filet and he added the blackened shrimp; i added asparagus with bearnaise sauce. *excellent* steak! best i've had in a long time; husband enjoyed the shrimp very much, and i thought the asparagus was very well prepared, although the tough ends were left on, which i found odd. we shared the chocolate cake for dessert, which had a beautiful crumb; and the drizzle of mildly coconut flavored sugar glaze rounded it out beautifully.

truly delectable dining adventure. all of dining experiences associated with talk of the town restaurant group have never led us down in our high expectations of flavor and service...and 99% of the time, exceeded them.
our latest visits to fish bones delivered a phenomenal taste extravaganza. beginning with the recommendations and efficiency of our server, karen quinn, our appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts were paced at a relaxed and manageable level so that we could genuinely savor every delectable bite.
my spouse considers himself as a true connoisseur of lobster bisque – and firmly convinced fish bones wins the grand flavor prize! he followed up with the 20/20 surf and turf, of which he claims the 20 oz dry aged filet mignon was the best he had ever tasted! and he was rating it with his steak at bern’s steak house in tampa! it was accompanied with a 20 oz cold water lobster tail that he claimed was tender and sweet he didn’t need the drawn butter to enhance the flavor (but yes, he still indulged!).
i had the fresh fish trigger fish, which was grilled to perfection. i rarely, if ever view trigger fish on local menus so i seized the opportunity and was thoroughly impressed.
we ended our meal with dessert – i had the authentic key lime pie, delivered true to description and not too sweet. my spouse had the red velvet cake which was topped with crème cheese icing.
throughout ourtimethere, annette cavallaro, the dining room manager was constantly circulating the restaurant, welcoming new table guests and introducing herself, as well as revisiting to ensure our dining experience was more than satisfactory. there are private dining rooms, a cocktail lounge, raw seafood bar and main dining room - all exclusive to one another, each offering their own ambience and low level of noise and traffic.
i never hesitate to recommend fish bones or any of talk of the town restaurants to visitors or locals, and i always receive a follow up “thank you” for sharing my favorite!

what has happened?. we have been away for sometimeand notice a big change in service, timing of food, and quality. this is not the fishbones i remember - is the hay day over? special birthday dinner was not what i expected. oh well, maybe next time.

matt made the experience. my fiance and i recently went into fishbones for the first time, and let me tell you it was amazing. the atmosphere was something out of the movies, the food was incredible, and our server we will never forget. we eat out a lot and we have never experienced such an attentive, knowledgeable server. we told him that we were visiting for the first time, and he took thetimeto make us feel so welcome and explain everything to us in great detail. he even recommended drinks that went well with our dinners and he was right on the money. the most enjoyable part about dinner was the salad. they make it at the table, and matt put on a "salad show" for us. it felt like we were on some cooking show. so, after a wonderful dinner matt brought over an amazing array of deserts and explained which was the best, again we trusted him and the chocolate bomb was the bomb! we can't wait to go back for more amazing food and first class service. matt gave us his card so he can take care of us nexttimeand i will definetly use it, maybe valentine's day... mandy
