fishbones

good food, but not inexpensive. ate for my first time at fish bones last night. the food was good, the service outstanding.

we started with a bahamian fish dip appetizer. nice smoky flavor, very good.

for dinner i had the mixed grill: a grilled piece of grouper, nicely done; a piece salmon grilled to perfection, and the scampi shrimp and scallops. the scallops and shrimp were cooked just right. the scampi was just average, thought. and i had one or two pieces of shrimp that were not properly dressed--that is, some shell that should have been removed had not been. i found this lack of attention to this detail to be a bit annoying.

dinner was accompanied by some mixed veggies and some orzo. the mixed veggies were ok, maybe a bit overcooked. the orzo though was downright pasty. definitnely undercooked, or not cooked right.

the service we received from brandon was outstanding. he was very attentive to all our needs, checked back often, and explained everything to us ingreatdetail. rarely have i had service that good.

so, overall, service was tops! grilled fish was excellent. scampi was just ok, nothing special. orzo was not very good. a mixed experience, but i'd eat here again....brandon won me over on that point.

lack of competition in the area has made them complacent. i'll agree with the reviewers that the ambience isgreatbut that's where the the accolades i feel stop. we came in approximately 10pm and with restaurant less than half full it still took a solid 10 min to get a seating. i dont mind waiting, but if you plan to take some time why not guide us to the bar and let us know when the table is ready? my entree, lamb chops, were lukewarm at best; by the time i got to the last 2 they were stone cold. i ordered garlic parmeasan fries which were refired (maybe from another order) and unfortunately were lukewarm. we ate 1 a piece and left the rest. my app the gator meat was good, ceaser salad was on point. all told approximately $100 per person and nothinggreatto boot. next time i'll play it safe and head back to shula's or ruth chris across the street.

gone down hill.... got rid of "sushi sunday", happy hour options aren't as great, food although still priced high is now average tasting and made, and most if all? the service outside is just bad. but hey, it's orlando that's kind if normal here...this place was one of my favorites up until this past year. sad to see it go down like this.

i have eaten at fishbones many times over the past few years , with many different people and have always had agreatmeal withgreatservice !
i believe this is one of the best restaurants in central florida !

terrible experience. stop!! dont waste your time and money!! this is nothing more than a glorified red lobster! dined on 7/10/2013 for my husbands birthday. following is our impression of our dining experience:

ambience/decor: fail! - felt like we were walking into a banquet hall.
food: fail!
lobster bisque - worst we have ever had - predominantely tasted like flour.
salads with goat cheese dressing - just ok.
stuffed black grouper ($40 dish) - horrible, fish was not cooked through, just awful from presentation of the dish to taste. really you dare serve this for $40?
aged steak; meh definately not worth the money.

manager offered to bring me another entree (so i waited while my husband continued eating his dinner alone) - i requested the stuffed shrimp and scallops but that is not what i received. i was too disgusted to even let her know that this was the wrong dish. i was given what i think was the shrimp and scallop scampi - i've had better at a fridays!

during this time our waitress simply disappeared - we sat with our dirty dishes in front of us for over 15 minutes.

if you want agreatmeal andgreatservice try terramia brick oven pizza in the same strip mall -greatservice andgreatfood. wish i had taken my husband to terramia for his birthday,

everything we ate was so fresh. i loved the raw oysters. the house salad wasgreatwith the roll. the wood grilled black grouper was perfect. my expectations were high since this was my first visit. i was not disappointed.greatservice as well.

best service in a long, long time. my husband requested this restaurant for his borthday dinner, and that was fine by me, since i haven't had a bad experience here. but wow! the experience was awesome.

we arrived, two adults and two small children, at 8:30 on a friday night. i was expecting a bit of a wait, but was suprised that i was seated within 5 minutes. our server immediately greeted us and brought us water.

the food was good. i ordered the corvina fish grilled ($30), and my husband ordered the indian unicorn fish in a wasabi/mirin sauce ($38). both were delicious, with the unicorn fish standing out. my kids ordered the calamari ($8) as an entree and the fried shrimp kids meal($6). my daughter didn't like the calamari because it was spicy, but i was impressed with the tender preparation. my son devoured the shrimp like it was going out of style.

the best part of the experience was our server, dennis. he was everything that i expect with service. he was attentive but not oppresive. he hadgreatsuggestions and interacted wonderfully with my children. i was extremely impressed with his quality of service and could see him serving at any fine dining restaurant. what a wonderful dinner.

best steak in seminole county. i (scott bender orlando) have been coming to fishbones lake mary ever since they opened a few years ago. when i ran sosocial sosocial orlando networking events, fishbones hosted several of our networking happy hour events and business luncheons and did a fantastic job!

i love happy hour at fishbones. the outdoor patio is great, but for me, the cool and intimate inside bar is my preference. all of the bartenders aregreatand even when slammed; know how to be attentive to the guests. they always remember my special martini.

the food at fishbones is always consistentlygreatand have the best steak in seminole county!

most of the meals i eat at fishbones are at the bar.greatservice, attentive bartenders and an operating partner (mary varouh) who really and genuinely cares about her staff and customers.

last night, i had the pleasure of another awesome dinner (filet mignon) and their brand new buttery cheesy bread. wow, it was perfectly cooked and the service by stephanie at the bar was the best ever.

if you are looking for agreatsteak (or seafood), fishbones lake mary is definitely worth every penny! if you are looking to entertain a group, they also have really nice private rooms and are so accommodating to any budget.

let mary or any of the bartenders know scott bender orlando florida referred you. you will not be disappointed and have a fantastic meal!

consistently fresh, flavorful. i've been here many times and have yet to eat a dish i don't like. the tomatoes and mozzarella takes the cake as my favorite appetizer; the slices are huge and the mozzarella has agreattexture. the oysters are also a huge hit and i'm addicted; i've tried oysters at various places and never really loved them but at fishbones, they're very fresh and clean-tasting. desserts are always right on, especially the sorbet! the servers are all top-notch and very knowledgeable about the menu. definitely worth the price!

best happy hour!!!. from 4pm-6pm every day (even the weekends i believe). my bill for two orders of sushi, 2 martinis and a double vodka was only $18! agreatdeal and you're not compromising on taste. be prepared though, it can get busy and a bit difficult to get orders in during the happy hour. during the summer it does get really hot and muggy on the porch but there was still a crowd when i went a few fridays ago in july.greatplace to meet people since there are so many and most are there to eat, drink and be merry.

good stuff. i took my wife to eat here and we both loved it. the service wasgreatand super helpful. the food was fantastic!!! it is a little costly to eat here but well worth the money spent. my wife enjoyed the dining so much we had sex in the parking lot... like i said money well spent.

we love this place .... the escargot is amazing ... wonderful portion with two caps typically in each of the holes. very tasty.

also, the salad prepared at the table is quite tasty.

table service is alwaysgreatand restaurant is among the cleanest and well managed that i visit.
