service with a smile. dinner with a large group (18) is always challenging for a restaurant butfishbonesreally dropped the ball. the problem was as simple as one word. service. there was none. half of our group was given a server in training. bad spot for a rookie. well, he lost his job by the end of the night. drink orders took 45 minutes, no bread, no water, just delays. with so many people, there were several different menu selections and most were reasonably pleased with the food. unfortunately the poor service put such a downer on the evening that nothing could really make up for it. with an 8 pm reservation, our group finally left the establishment after 11. i doubt if any of the people will ever return.

fishbones is the best hands down, nothing more needs to be said, but apparently the review needs to be 140 characters, so i will reiterate,fishbonesis the best hands down.

excellent!. went tofishbonesin lake mary for the first time tonight and was very impressed. a much more elegant atmosphere than i expected. the two beautiful aquariums were a nice touch.

i ordered bleu cheese chips as an appetizer and had the ribeye for dinner w/ bleu cheese mashed potato - both were fantastic.

the service at the bar and in the dining room was top notch (very attentive, yet not overbearing)! i would definitely recommendfishbonesin lake mary to anyone!!!

delicious menu. i have eaten atfishbonesa few times and have really enjoyed it. their stuffed scallops and shrimp entree is excellent. the atmosphere is always terrific. their bar area is also very nice. this restaurant is very convenient to get to as well, right off of i-4 area between state road 46 and lake mary blvd exits.

good first time out. my husband and i ate atfishboneswith my in-laws last night (first time for all 4 of us), and we enjoyed our experience as well as the food. some of us had the caesar salad to start, others had the specialty salad-- both very good, tasted very fresh. we also enjoyed the blue chips as a starter. the cheese/garlic bread was very tasty, too. my husband and i split the 10 oz filet and he added the blackened shrimp; i added asparagus with bearnaise sauce. *excellent* steak! best i've had in a long time; husband enjoyed the shrimp very much, and i thought the asparagus was very well prepared, although the tough ends were left on, which i found odd. we shared the chocolate cake for dessert, which had a beautiful crumb; and the drizzle of mildly coconut flavored sugar glaze rounded it out beautifully.

excellent steak, and very well cooked. few places know the difference between black & blue and pittsburg rare. menu prices were shocking but the overall bill was not, oddly enough! very good for a group of picky eaters. this is an upscale chain; the otherfishbonesi went to in south florida was not good. this one is excellent. service was attentive but not bothersome. location is way out in the northern orlando burbs, but easy of the interstate. i'd recommend it for a picky group.

best steak in seminole county. i (scott bender orlando) have been coming tofishboneslake mary ever since they opened a few years ago. when i ran sosocial sosocial orlando networking events,fishboneshosted several of our networking happy hour events and business luncheons and did a fantastic job!

i love happy hour at fishbones. the outdoor patio is great, but for me, the cool and intimate inside bar is my preference. all of the bartenders are great and even when slammed; know how to be attentive to the guests. they always remember my special martini.

most of the meals i eat atfishbonesare at the bar. great service, attentive bartenders and an operating partner (mary varouh) who really and genuinely cares about her staff and customers.

last night, i had the pleasure of another awesome dinner (filet mignon) and their brand new buttery cheesy bread. wow, it was perfectly cooked and the service by stephanie at the bar was the best ever.

if you are looking for a great steak (or seafood),fishboneslake mary is definitely worth every penny! if you are looking to entertain a group, they also have really nice private rooms and are so accommodating to any budget.

what has happened?. we have been away for some time and notice a big change in service, timing of food, and quality. this is not thefishbonesi remember - is the hay day over? special birthday dinner was not what i expected. oh well, maybe next time.

happy hour bliss. my husband originates from orlando and introduced me tofishbonesabout 2 years ago. now everytime we go back down to visit we have to make it over for happy hour. i can not find shrimp like they have there any where else, the oysters are amazing, and i just discovered the mussels are to die for.

never had a bad experience, and have been there many many times.

great seafood inland?. i live on the west coast of florida andfishbonesin lake mary annihilates everything in the st. pete/sarasota/tampa area.

the ahi entree is always generous and cooked to perfection. but it's the fresh oysters that hook me. they are incredible and i could just order those over and over again and be perfectly happy doing that for an hour or two.

we travel to the heathrow area only once or twice a year but this restaurant is always on our must do list.

matt made the experience. my fiance and i recently went intofishbonesfor the first time, and let me tell you it was amazing. the atmosphere was something out of the movies, the food was incredible, and our server we will never forget. we eat out a lot and we have never experienced such an attentive, knowledgeable server. we told him that we were visiting for the first time, and he took the time to make us feel so welcome and explain everything to us in great detail. he even recommended drinks that went well with our dinners and he was right on the money. the most enjoyable part about dinner was the salad. they make it at the table, and matt put on a "salad show" for us. it felt like we were on some cooking show. so, after a wonderful dinner matt brought over an amazing array of deserts and explained which was the best, again we trusted him and the chocolate bomb was the bomb! we can't wait to go back for more amazing food and first class service. matt gave us his card so he can take care of us next time and i will definetly use it, maybe valentine's day... mandy

awesome happy hour!!!!.fishboneshas the best happy hour offer ever! half-priced draft beer, half-priced sushi menu (the whole sushi menu, not just one or two rolls!), baked oysters, 1.25 shrimp cocktail, and (i think?) half priced fried calamari.

while the bar area used to be packed on a friday or saturday night, it seems the economy took a huge toll on the patronage so they had to come up with a great deal to get customers to come back. take advantage of this happy hour special while you can. now that the weather has warmed up a bit you can enjoy happy hour at their outdoor bar without freezing.

a bit better than average.fishboneshas been a good lake mary staple for quite some time. it offers some of the best sushi, steaks, and seafood in the area at fairly reasonable prices for the type of establishment. the quality of the food was always matched with top notch service in a warm inviting atmosphere.

for a nice refreshing starter, try the blue crab. severed in a martini glass on a bed of romaine lettuce, the crab meat is succulent, sweet and has smooth texture. if you never had crab before, this is the one to try. if you have a larger group, try the sampler platter. not only do you get the blue crap martini, but fresh oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and smoky bbq shrimp.

i am a meat lover, so you will find a good steak here. while my bias for the best steak in the central florida is still del frisco's,fishbonesstill has several great options. try either the dry age bone-in ribeye, ny strip, or the prime rib if available. eating the bone-in ribeye reminds me of the flintstones, a huge piece of meat with the rib bone attached. definitely a choice for the hearty of appetites. if you want a lighter fair, go with the lamb chops.

fish and sushi lovers will also not be disappointed. one good thing is the seafood menu does change based on the seasonality of the fish. my personal favorites are mirin-wasabi glazed black cod, yellowfin ahi tuna, and the blackened grouper.

currently they are offering a great happy hour for sushi lovers, 50% off the sushi menu between 4:30 and 6:30 monday through saturday. my only concern has been the cooked food during this happy hour. during my last two visits during happy hour, both my dishes were over cooked. the first time, i ordered chicken and it was extremely dry and over cooked. the saffron orzo was also over cooked and had the texture of wall paper paste. the second time, my prime rib was also overcooked and had a lot of connective tissue. hopefully the standards will come up to par really soon as i know they can produce higher quality food.

overall i would give them 3.75 out of 5. if they can improve the quality during happy hour, 4 out of 5.
